on-time

I built my first home in 2019 and have lived there 2 months now.
All process was faster than what we expected and smooth.
Only problems were some items what salesperson explained to us and reality was different, but the administration staffs were very helpful and sort them out very efficiently.

Especially, the financing team was brilliant from start to the end.
Thanks again for your efforts.
During the construction periods, the site supervisor was very professional and sort out every thing we pointed out in timely manner.

Final cost was pretty much same as we have been quoted and they explained everything what would cost more and less.

Thanks again guys and hope your best in the future !!

I already recommended my friends about WA housing centre.

No bathroom glass doors or curtains,The sinks are too small, Blinds are too loose and thin, easy to fell down ones by one.

#delivery(3/5) #price(3/5) #quality(3/5) #customer service(3/5) #on-time(3/5)

We have been in our new home for just over two months and are now very happy with our new home. The journey was difficult though.

Pre- contract signing; sales rep [name removed] offered us everything under the sun to get us to sign the contract to build with WA. He is amazing and extremely helpful. He gives us a mock up of what the design we chose will look like and promised to work out the finer details after signing

After we sign the contract; [name removed] disappears completely!!! Absolutely no contact for weeks on end. Questions go unanswered, emails do not get replied to, calls go to voicemail. We are left completely in the dark now that we have “signed” and can not get through to anyone to answer or help with where we go from here.

Building Plans; changed some items on the plan and sign final plans. Price is different to what we were promised and quoted. We can’t get through to anyone. No one will answer calls or emails!! We go into the office in Perth City and get a frosty reception from [name removed] but we get the price we were quoted. Definitely recommend going through the price list and ensuring it’s correct.

Pre-Start: We have the most amazing Pre-start person [name removed]. She is helpful, friendly and informative. Cannot say enough good things about her. She gets back to us with any questions we couldn’t get an answer to in our meeting. She is fantastic at her job.
Pre- start options are quite limited though and choices are not great. Eg: we decide to forego a splash back due to the lack of options that suit. We choose things mostly from pictures in a book- which was quite hard. Thanks [name removed]!

Actual Build: we have a fantastic site manager [name removed]. He is informative and very good at his job. He finds details on our walks that we do not even see.
We did notice however our bath was the wrong size than what we bought, this had to be replaced. Highly recommend checking everything! [name removed] pushes to get us in within our time frame and we are in before Christmas! Thanks [name removed]! The build is smooth and efficient.

Pros; build is good and we are happy with the final result. Good price.

Cons; communication is absolutely awful within the company, once we signed no one is responsible for getting back to us. Weeks and weeks go between unanswered emails. Felt like it was a mistake to sign with WA. It made the process really stressful.

The time in Admin was 12mths so that was very frustrating,it just seemed to take forever to get all the pieces together, but the actual build was less than 5mths and Nicole and Kendall were lovely to deal with.
Re-start was a challenge but the ladies I dealt were knowledgable and helpful.

I started my journey February 2018. From the start the process has been well explained and helped along the way. I was new to all of this and didn't know much about building a first home.
All of the admin side was the hardest part from my point of view but at the same time they helped me along the way and pointed me in the right direction, made the process much easier. They also knew what I had in my budget and worked with me with something I could afford.
The construction side of it started well as everything was going up very quickly until the last few parts. I did have to keep following up to get clear dates as it wasn't communicated to me clearing. This was kinda frustrating as I had to organise moving out of my previous house and try and guess what date I could move in. A simple call to communicate any delays and how long they would be would be helpful.
But overall the experience was great and now I am in my new house enjoying what I have chosen and now have a house of my own.
Thank you WA Housing

We made an inquiry on the WA Housing Centre website and the next day we received a call from Dean, who from the get go made us feel like owning our first home was achievable. He went above and beyond in finding a suitable area for our family and somewhere that suited our budget. Within days we met with Dean, who explained the process in terms we understood without being overwhelming and showed us a block in an area, which we loved. Without Dean, I don’t think we would be where we are now.

The building process was straightforward and was completed in the 6-month time frame given to us from the start. Throughout the build, updates and photos were provided to us via the Portal, which was a breeze to use. Rob made sure the house was up to scratch and when we would have onsite meetings he would point out places which needed to be repaired and would make an effort to address those items in future meetings.

We have now moved into the home and are extremely happy with the outcome and workmanship.

First of all I would like to thank WA Housing for delivering my new Home before Xmas. When I started this journey 18 months ago with it was all going well and I was excited with the work and time Gary Payne the Sales Representative had put in for me. He had arranged prelim drawings and inclusions and even set up someone to help with finance. The land was due to settle in January about 4 months after signing the contract and after finance approval. By then the administration side had taken over and Gary had left - this is when the delays started. Settlement January 17th had been advised, Admin still had not drafted any drawings to get approvals happening for style and position on block as well as meeting the guidelines for design criteria. I however had already chosen carpets, tiles, window fittings and filled out the whole list of prestart selections online. No approvals from Council or Land Developers at this stage. WA Housing has a reprieve and gets more time as Land Settlement delayed till March 20th, by this date still no prelim drawings to get approvals underway. After listening to all the rehearsed answers I had to start phoning the Shire and Land Developer myself to find out what was happening - you can see where I am going with this, it took them to long a time to get moving and this stage of the build was very disappointing I even had to force the issue to get my prestart meeting in April ( I had already chosen everything online ). There were other issues with the Admin timeline but at the end of the day the construction started.

01/07/18 Slab down construction starts. Matthew my Supervisor and Cassie my contact during construction were great. Both pushed as hard as possible to get the construction finished before Xmas. They were successful. The build went smoothly, issues with design changes were resolved quickly, and the workmanship and finishing touches on the House were great, couldn't be happier and more thankful to them both.

If the Admin team could work as efficiently as the Construction team the process would have been less stressful and finished earlier than December 2018.

Overall I am still happy with the outcome and that helps to wash away the disappointing Admin phase. Would still recommend WA Housing for a build based on the overall finish and outcome.

Thanks again for your help

From the first day I walked into the offices on Mount Street in Perth, the staff were super friendly and very knowledgeable. I felt like they had my best interests in mind not just interest of there business, never did I feel like just another number. During the build I met a few of the different tradesmen, they were all great people who were happy to talk you through a few things. The quality of the work the tradesmen have put out is outstanding! If there were anything that would arise, as minor as there were the team where happy to rectify the issue.

The office staff made the process very easy and efficient and if I had any questions or concerns they were happy to explain or act on them promptly. I would highly recommend building with this company and I would definitely recommend to my friends if they were to build.

#delivery(5/5) #price(5/5) #quality(5/5) #customer service(5/5) #on-time(5/5)

We moved from Sydney in June 2017 to escape the rental nightmare, insane property prices & traffic. After less than 2 months I spoke to a few builders after seeing some display homes & realising that the dream of owning your own home is alive & well in Perth unlike Sydney. Other builders advised that I would have to finish my 6 month probation in my new fifo job before they would be able to help us. W.A Housing Centre was the only one who said no worries at all we can get everything organised in the meantime & get the ball rolling. They also were the only ones who said we could build a 4 bedroom house with a theatre. We were told to go & take a look at land in the areas that were affordable & within a week was given a call to come into the office at 6pm as our Sales Consultant had found a great block of land. The block had open space across the road & was in a new development where a shopping centre was soon to be built alongside the new $2m playground.

Our mortgage broker from The Loan Company went above & beyond to get us approved from Keystart & we are very appreciative of the patience shown by WAHC. While waiting the 10 months to get the approval they completed our house design & had a pre-start meeting with only a small deposit.

Our build went smoothly & we were very happy with the experience & friendly personality of our builder. The portal was a great tool to help visualize your house in 3D & also calculate additional costs of our selections. We had an independent inspection done at the PCI that found quite a few issues however most were minor & WAHC sent trades over to fix these minor issues with doors or windows that was very much appreciated. The build quality of our home is excellent except for the roof & gutters that was below average. Our builder got the roofing contractors to return & fix some of the issues found however this was the biggest disappointment regarding workmanship.

The final cost was around $20k more than the estimated cost mainly due to painting, mirrored sliding doors to built in robes, LED lights, paving to both sides of house & side gate not included. We feel that we got great value for money given we got a lot of added inclusions such as a 5.3kw solar system that WAHC doubled at no additional cost from 10 to 20 panels for only $1000 total cost. We also received ducted air conditioning & $3k pre-start promotion that helped a lot.

Big thank you to W.A Housing Centre for building our dream home & showing that the great Australian dream of home ownership is alive & well in Western Australia.

I was nervous about doing this for the first time on my own and as a single parent. I was so pleased with all the help I got though. There was someone helping me through every stage and they were always happy to answer my many questions.
Workmanship was excellent. The supervisor kept me informed at all stages and the very few thing I was unsure of were addressed immediately.
The final cost of the build actually came in under my budget. Only by a couple of thousand but I was pretty pleased about it.
I have and will recommend WA Housing to anyone ready to build.

It was such a smooth and enjoyable process. Thank you all for the energy, effort and superb knowledge. Impressed is an understatement and if i build again i will be going through WA Housing Centre and requesting Andrew for my supervisor.

Just got my keys 2 days ago and tbh everything is just perfect. The whole process was very smooth with no stress or anything to worry about. Special thanks to my sale consultant, Luke Bebich for his help. He showed me the land, got me the best offer possible and showed me a display house with the same design as mine Since I wasnt quite sure of the design. Everything after that was perfect and simple, and now I Will be celebrating xmas in my new house:))

From the first day we met to discuss house plans to the day we got our keys, we have been impressed. We have loved seeing the different stages of build. Workmanship and tradesman have been awesome. We have been very impressed at how the site was kept clean at each stage. Our site supervisor was very helpful with any questions we had. We were above our budget a little, but choose to pay a little extra to get what we wanted.

I started my journey with WAHC in December 2017. I had chosen WAHC as 2 friends completed their builds without any worries or stressors.

My experience was the 1/3. I had a new surprise pop up around each corner.

The Admin stage i had quite a few hurdles. I was kept up to date weekly with where i stood.
My Construction stage was the most frustrating. My contacts were great with helping with questions i had. I just felt the communication wasn't there with delays. It took me to follow up to find out what is happening, Example Bricklayers meant to start on site a certain date but they don't turn up for two weeks. Blinds delay because of tile and carpet delay turning into a 6+ week delay. These things should be communicated. A 1-5 Day delay without communication is expected but not 2-6 weeks. This is frustrating and stressful. At my tiles meeting I advised in the next 6 weeks there will be tradies on top of each other to complete the home so my PCI walk through can happen after Christmas break. Only to see not a lot happening by mid December. I again follow up only to be told of no delays so your left in limbo not knowing whats happening. If there is some kind of update to the portal to enable the buyer to see of delays i think this would be extremely helpful.
I had a few hurdles revolving around money and valuation. WAHC were quick to help me out and rectify these problems in a timely manner. This i am extremely grateful for.

My house is absolutely beautiful. All the stressors and frustration are now a distant memory. I am so excited for my new venture as a home owner.

Thankyou to all who was involved with my build

Although the quality of the built is good, the sale consultant of WA Housing Centre and his manager took advantage of our lack of experience (1st home).
We've been told by these people we had inclusions that eventually weren't in the contract and promised a discount not received (despite a text as a proof).

On another hand though, during construction we had a good supervisor and BGC realized a quality double brick home that we are now enjoying.
BGC is a reliable company that gives you a lifetime structural warranty for a reason.
I would definitely choose BGC again, but with a company that provides a better customer service, Commodore homes for example.

The build of my home was managed professionally, the time to build was around 5 months.
One issue with workmanship was some damaged toilet pipe work in the slab, when the bricks were delivered the pipe was squashed down and cracked, they told me it had been repaired but no photos were sent so i still have no proof this was done.

Cost was bang on, i have exactly the home i wanted ready before christmas, perfect !
