Poor poor service no confirmation of order. No shipping date, called customer service long hold time. She said I will send a confirmation right out and got nothing. Tried canceling order they could not do that.

Ordered a couple very important and needed products. Didn't get a shipping confirmation for days. Tried to cancel the order but after several failed attempts to contact somebody there (they don't answer the phone, or their customer service chat) I finally got through to a supervisor and she said they could not guaranty cancellation! I already re-ordered and recived the products from Amazon. I will never do business with West Marine again ever ever everrrrrrrrr!

Its boating season soon and my boat needed a speaker upgrade for the stereo system. Roswell is the official speaker of Supra boats. So I was looking for the best deal online. Amazingly West Marine had the best price on a new set of high output Roswell speakers. I must say I was surprised because I didn't expect to find much selection at Westmarine since they are mostly for boat parts. Especially when I go into the store. They came through for me online and I even got a 5% coupon. They have a wider selection online and they shipped to my door

I ordered a 20hp Mercury outboard thru the On-Line feature (big mistake, I should have read the reviews first) They stated that it would take 2 to 3 weeks, they told me several times the motor was in stock, shipped to a warehouse in South Carolina, and would be shipped to the outlet store and arrive on April 27th, the motor was a no show on that date, so I called them, Again, was told another Bulls**t story of why it was delayed, I then call Mercury Global headquarters in WI, and was told, Mercury has a 20 business day lead time for all small 2018 outboard motors, because of demand, Mercury is currently making them as fast as they can, and orders go directly to the factory in Japan, as they do not have small outboards in stock in the US, West Marine could have told me that instead of lying to me. Just another example of dishonest and shady business practices, I would like to see them go out of business and be shutdown

Ordered several items last night all of which where listed as in stock...now only expecting a partial shipment???? Worse yet there are multiple pending charges to my account of which only one is valid. OVERCHARGED my account and now I face the possibilty of bank charges for their incompitence. WEBSITE AVAILABILTY AND BILLING CANNOT BE TRUSTED. I have never haved had such a hassle with online orders

I bought a Garmin StreetPilot i2 on December 18 after finding that West Marine had by far the best price. Although their web site said it was in stock, it was back ordered by the next day. I then called a CSR who was very helpful and frank about their inventory.

A day or two later they did get more stock in and sent out my order in time for Christmas delivery, and upgrading my original ground shipping to next day to do it. A very nice introduction for me to this company.

I recently made an "on-line" purchase. I ordered a half gallon of anti-foul boat bottom paint, a specific product which is excellent and sold by West Marine. Since I live in a very rural setting I find myself using on-line services more and more, and I have used West Marine's on-line service before and with complete satisfaction. Well this particular time the paint arrived promptly as promised BUT when I opened the shipment box, the top on the can of paint was not secured and paint was everywhere BUT also shipped inside of a plastic bag which kept the product beautifully contained. My problem was, I lost my boat bottom paint. My wife contacted West Marine and provided them with invoice numbers and shipment information and they shipped me a new container of paint that very same day, no questions asked. Great service, great products and one happy customer. You can buy from West Marine with complete confidence, first class company. Michael S.

I called and spoke with someone before placing my online order and then spoke with customer service twice more the next two days concerning my order, a fishfinder and tube of sealant. When my package arrived I was shocked to receive only the sealant and a note that my fishfinder is on backorder. When I called customer service to ask why I wasn't told in the three phone calls that it wasn't available, and why it was still showing available on their website, I was told that it is no longer available at all and will not be. They offered to give me a $20 discount on a unit that cost more than $200 more than the one I ordered. No explanation as to why they didn't tell me, or why the website still shows it as available and then to give such an insulting offer to make up for their repeated mistake was the last straw. Will NEVER purchase from them again.

I waited 2wks for an order that showed as back ordered and then contacted customer service. They said the order had been canceled as the item was no longer stocked. Then stated I could special order one. Why not simply fulfill my original order if they could still special order one. Wasted 2 weeks of my time. Web site order status is worthless if it doesn't tell you the truth.

i bought a clarion marine m303 stereo from west marine at which time i bought the extended warranty,a year or so later the unit broke so i filed a claim with the warranty program that was on june 5 at which point they had me mail the unit in,after several phone calls and not one call back no luck on the warranty,then some time go buy i call in and they had cancelled my claim and never called me to let me know,so we reopened the claim several phone calls later and a lot of run around now we are into dec 22 new run around is there closed for christmas...7 months and still no resoluation to the claim ,and by the way each phone call takes about 30 min or more...buyer beware do not buy west marine extended warranty

Order was supposed to be delivered to store 7 to 10 days. I called store after 10 days and they told me it just got processed the day before. Waited total of 19 days and I still had to call store to check. They told me they haven't unloaded truck from day before and they didn't have invoice for products on the truck??? They called me back 8 hours later and told me it was the last box they unloaded. Yeah right. Picked it up and no apology or anything.

We purchased an outboard motor with an extended 5 year warranty. Although we have all the receipts and paperwork, neither the store nor the warranty company has any record of our purchase. (The warranty company is Warrantech). I have given them the same info 4 times and am told to call back in 3 days when the registry will be in the system. Don't waste your time with West Marine.

My order was processed with a purchase email then said it was shipped 20 days later still not received no tracking information sent three emails and to customer service calls and they still had no clue what to do. Finally I asked for a cancellation on my order. What a joke company

Came today May 18 at 3 pm buy a lot of staff on this store located on friendship road 5221 lanier island parkway Buford ga 30518. We were checking out with over $800 with the stuff and the manager argued with us about a $20 buy one get 1 free item when the sign says clearly the promotion . He wanted to force us to pay full price for both products with no promotion . We couldn’t understand the behavior of a store manager arguing with a customer for no valid reason . When we asked him to show us where it says that we had to get the same item for free he couldn’t proved it and he just continued to argue saying repetitive “is just the way that it is”
It was not our intention to get something for free but when the store advertising any special should be clear to avoid inconvenience with the customers . We were getting the same brand product one for cleaning and another for wax exactly what they advertised
Finally he said that he was going to do a favor to us and he approved it but after he approved it he said “you should be nice with me” .... Are you serious ? Sorry but this manager needs some customer service training Asap!
Based on this experience we will never shop there again !

called the point place store in ohio about availability of andodes for a "2003" bravo 3 drive" yes we have them "click"
hung up drove over on my lunch time to get said parts and guess what oh we don't have them. i said i called and was told they were in stock. same guy who was on the phone says (the voice) well you must of made a mistake. this store has the worst customer service i have ever seen the only people who care in there are the ladies at the cash registers. i WILL NEVER USE WEST MARINE AGAIN!! i got my parts at my local marina 30% cheaper and was treated as a customer not an idiot. best advice shop around and forget west marine

I shop at Worst Marine when I must. Pricing is ridiculous, but they set the standard, and everyone else follows. They are the opposite of Walmart for price strategy. If West has the choice of 2 makers of equal quality of a product, and one is $100, the other is $250, West will choose the more expensive vendor exclusively (Ancor Electrical terminals for example, and many others), unless there is no other option due to competition carrying the first vendor. They carry some good quality stuff (electronics), but much of what they carry is of dubious quality (cheap Chinese RIBs that the charge top $ for), Perko (anything Perko makes is guarenteed to break in a saltwater environment in about 3 years), etc. I put a Perko breather vent on a hose stack, it resides with other vents 22 years old ... the Perko disintegrated in 3-4 years, the now 25 year old vents look a little tired, but 100% intact still. The 3 Perko items I bought all turned to garbage and were chrome plated pot metal unsuitable for marine use. Might be OK for your bass boat, but probably not.

West has been purchased this year (2017) by a hedge fund / investment firm ... so they probably are history in the next year ... or things will get worst. I am lucky enough to be close to the flagship store in Ft. Lauderdale, so they will have the thing I need about 75% of the time. The display in the giant store is great, the store is staffed well, but in the boating capital of the US, Ft. Lauderdale, customers are a rarity in this store (10 visits over 3 years).

A new unopened west marine branded vinyl mildew stain remover leaked on and discolored my leather car seat- I had just bought this, taken it out to my car where I laid it on its side on the car seat, and the paper bag and my seat were soaked within 10 minutes of the purchase. The local West marine staff referred me to the corporate office in Watsonville California who did an "investigation" in which they said they saw no leakage on the store shelf where the bottle was located, therefore they denied any responsibility for this. Note that the bottles in the store are upright, the leak occurred when the bottle was laying on its side, and they did not even ask to look at the bottle which leaked. I then wrote and told them I thought their investigation was incomplete and offered to send them the bottle which leaked but West has refused to do this or to respond to any additional communications I have tried to make with them - even going so far as getting Boat US to contact them. Although the local staff at West Marine is friendly, this experience was an eye-opener because i've been a West customer for many years - but this was my first complaint and had to deal with the corporate office

West Marine sucks............waited 15 days and it was discontinued before I ordered it. Nobody told the public or me(the buyer). Finally got a survey, no order..........discontinued, but was I informed, NO! After 38 yrs in business in St. Petersburg, I cannot condone doing business this way or I would be gone.

I'm new to the boating world and just in the last 30 days I have order about $3,000.00 from West Marine. First order was for a Simrad radar set up and a shoot Thur hull transducer. When I placed the order I was told everything was in stock and I would have it in 3-4 days. I really wanted it by the up coming weekend so I paid extra for 2 day shipping. Then after paying I get a email there out of stock and once they get it back in stock it would be sent out by 2 day shipping. It took 7 days on radar and 11 days on transducer. Gave them a second chance and order wiper blades and arm which showed to be in stock. After 8 day showing they still had not shipped I called. Was told they did not know why they had not shipped but they would send them overnight. I just the email later that day they had been shipped but not overnight but normal shipping which shows 5 day delivery time. West Marine you have lost a good customer due to your false advertisement and lies.

Tried to order a Force 10 stove from West Marine website. Order disappeared twice. Customer service could not find. Ordered by phone for Monday delivery. Did not come, store cannot find, website tracking says "Technical error". Store can only email warehouse cannot call.

Big San Diego store on Rosecrans totally understaffed. Tried to write the West Marine CEO but he has no email and says don't write me on Linked In. When West Marine tanks no-one will understand because they upper management is so isolated.
