I booked accommodation in February 2015 through Wimdu in Malta for the summer. The price, Eur 250, was blocked on my bank account. In early May 2015 my host cancelled my booking. I followed Wimdu’s instructions and immediately contacted the Support Team– actually several times because apart from automatic replies I haven’t heard from them. My first e-mail went about 10 days ago, my last 5 days ago. (The website says they have a 24/7 support service, and that they take cancellation by host very seriously.) My money has not been refunded, no help has been offered, no contact has been made, whatsoever. None of the telephone numbers /e-mail addresses found in various databases on internet work / are answered.
What Wimdu does is OUTRAGEOUS! They are a bunch of THIEVES!
I am contacting the European Consumer Center.
The deletion of the account is one thing, but this occurred on a friday and I had guests coming that had booked from wimdu.
Their stay was cancelled by wimdu and no notice was given to either them or myself. They stayed the period and I found out later my account had been stopped.
Upon informing the guests (after their stay) that the booking had been cancelled; they got in touch with wimdu in order to get a refund (at the minimum) only then to have their account deleted due to "suspicious activity". Now Wimdu keeps the money without releasing it to either party, even though we had both fulfilled the requirements set forth by the terms and conditions.
Very bizarre and unprofessional from wimdu's side..... Not recommended to anyone for any reason whatsoever
I made a reservation (FYJS1DE6) on 15 august 2016 for Coriander apartment Lisabon (14-19.06.2017).
After 6 months I was anounced that the host has canceled the reseravation. The same host has tried in november to cancel the same reservation, but after an intervation from Wimdu support the issue was solved then.
The host was anoyed because of the small price I got the reservation for (aprox. 60% of the full price).
With what am I to blame?
The fact that the host managed to cancel the reservation makes me think that Wimdu.com is a poor and horrible company.
In my opinion, you can't compare yourself with booking.com or airbnb.com.
The host must pay a tax or fine in case of cancelation, just like I would if I would cancel my reservation.
You are sending me offers almost every day, how could I take them into consideration after the horrible experince I had?

I paid the studio in London hosted by Tara: 176 Commercial Road. The host was never there, they did not leave the key inside the keybox, Tara's husband was there and did not allow me to check in on the contrary was extremely rude with me. Wimdu employees Samuel Velho and Tiago Magellan did not take care of my situation, Wimdu gave the money to Tara and her husband without allow me to have my money as reimbursement due to this incredible situation with the host. They sent me a message that the host, Tara, will do the check in a day later when I obviously was staying in another place and paying extra for a bed and a roof in a city that was outside my country.
If I recommend Wimdu or Tara's place: NEVER.
I contacted the customer support twice they are extremely rude and not helping and make you feel you are ruining their day by your stupid problem. and till now i dont have the keys and i am thinking about making a police report.
one of the customer support agents decided to hang up on me & the other agent decided to make fun of me which is something will never happen with Airbnb.
Wimdu doesnt care at all about host right, they are guests oriented company and if i were guest i will just send random pictures of dirty bathroom and stay for free anywhere in the world.
I went to the police and I hope they can do something.

Later I send a message to owner through Wimdu. I request my refund and wrote a review about villa after 3 weeks Wimdu came back offering less then half what I paid on condition if I change my review about villa. I refused to do that as I do not want others to suffer the way I did.
I will never use this website and try my best to aware others not to use them intact AIRBNB is much better more professional to book similar sort of properties. I booked with AIRBNB million times better then Wimdu.
I am trying to save others like me its not easy when you go on holidays as we all look forward to our holidays and found out you are been coned and lost money.
