Wisecars has an "out" with their vague fine print that says if you don't comply with whatever the local rental agency requires, you lose your deposit. There is NO way to know what the local firm requires so they can require a card type you don't have or create new fees you never expected! Wisecars does not care. Do NOT use this agency!!!

Wisecars company refused to refund my $280 deposit paid for renting a car at FOX rent a car, which, in turn, refused me because I am a holder Ukrainian passport and a UAE driving license. In three years of renting cars in the USA from different companies, I have never encountered such a problem. Moreover, the failure to return money for a service not provided is a violation of my rights as a customer, doesn't matter that the company does write in small script in they own policy.

I used Wise as a third party to rent a car from ACE in Los Angeles. Upon pick up Ace made the decision not to run my driving license through the scanner due to a nick in the card. All details were visible and it's still deemed fit as a valid driving license as confirmed by an agent from Wise and two other car rental companies. Ace then tried to charge me double the original agreed rental price to rent a second car there and then which I refused. But then Ace refused to return my $700 of the prepay rental as they said Wise were in hold of it. I still needed a car so out of principle walked next door to SIXT and rented a car, using the same license with no issues. Since this incident I've been trying to get my money back from Wise and have been met with long, strung out, none comital and vague emails with no end in sight. Please do not use this company!

They are awful. They advertise as 'NO HIDDEN FEES' send you a receipt after paying saying 'NO CHARGE AT PICK UP' and if you message them say 'NO FURTHER CHARGES'. Got to America and the rental company demanded £500 in insurance to drive the car away in a hidden fee. Ruined our trip and put is in financial difficulty. We had a handicapped lady with us in a wheelchair who was in tears over this. They refuse to do anything about it now and just ignore my complaints. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

They are now ignoring my complaint about the vehicle being not up to scratch. Looking over recent reviews this ignoring complaints, taking people's money and adding charges appears to be a common practice. What a truly despicable company, AVOID, AVOID, AVOID

Wisecars have the worst business ethic, they advertise a desirable price to hook you in, take your money then tell you don’t worry, we are working on securing this vehicle for you, then you hear nothing for a week so enquire again only to be told no sorry we couldn’t get the deal so we will refund your money and that’s going to take a week, so essentially they’ve held onto my money for 2 weeks and wasted my time and now I have to search for another vehicle at very short notice and have ended up paying twice what I could have if I’d just gone with a reputable company the first time. Gross and untrustworthy- do not be tempted

Made a booking through Wisecars website. Heard about them from my friend who used their service last month. When I booked a car for a week the prices I saw were much lower than the other competitors in car rental. Contacted their customer support before booking and got all my questions answered. I will recommend them to my friends also.

DO NOT RENT FROM WISECARS. They are strictly a middleman. (They don't have any cars.) Yet, when my flight was delayed, and I immediately emailed to let them know, they failed to pass on that information to the rental car company. Their reason: They were closed. Thus, the info did not get to the rental company, I became a "no show," and not only lost my car reservation, but 100% of the money I paid Wisecars. Tip: Forget Wisecars. Rent from companies that have cars. Not from middlemen.

I rent from Wisecars.com as their price for rental cars is far less expensive than renting from any other website including the car companies themselves and they are easy to use. For example just rented in NY for a car that is nearly half what others wanted to charge. Try them!

At this time - when many companies referring to the virus - in every possible way delay the response time to requests from their potential or existing customers, I was pleasantly surprised when my call to the Wisecars service about my car booking was answered almost instantly. And they helped me with the answer to my questions. Which decided my choice in favor of Wisecars. The booking was made - very simple and understandable Thank you - great job! Good luck!

I signed up to return car on my last day of rental at 10:00pm. Confirmation shifted to 12 noon that day. I am getting medical treatment and staying 4 hours away from the drop off location -lax. Booked after hours. Sent email right away to customer service but did not receive any calls. I did pay for free cancellation. I hope this survey allows me to get trip cancellation at no cost as it’s being offered to current renters and I have yet to pick up the car. Thank you in advance.

The booking went well though I had tried to find information on insurance. I talked with an agent who was most helpful but had no information other than referring me to the car rental company for information who also had nothing to add.
The other issue is in sending me a confirmation though I noted that my credit card company is being billed (amex) though I have no material sent to me other than my notice that I booked a car but no confirmation numbers. So, I am hoping it will be coming soon. The company seems reputable and the pricing is better than at the others. Let's see how it come out as I am still 12 days away from picking up the car.

absolutely the most disappointing experience renting a car - if I could give it no stars, I would. I paid 1300 for a car for a month+ out of Boston, which I needed for an internship at a university in New Hampshire, 2 HOURS away from Boston! I arrived at the airport after a long 8 hour, delayed flight come to find out the car company they booked through will not rent to me. While their terms & conditions suggest that you must rent with a credit card because not everyone takes debit, I looked up the car company online when I was issued my voucher, a week prior to my rental, they accepted debit with a credit check. When I get there, the company they booked through denied my application, they said they ran my report but when I checked my credit report, nothing showed up & neither was an explanation listed on the receipt I received. I emailed wisecars immediately letting them know I couldn’t get the car, and they did not get back to me until the next day. When they wrote back they stated I should have read their terms & conditions more closely & that I will receive absolutely no refund since they counted this as a “no show”. I was stranded at the airport, no where near my Airbnb, no car & out of 1300! The only replies I received is that I should have read their terms & conditions. I booked with them because it gave me the security that my car was basically all paid for, but I would like to share this warning with anyone looking to rent with them: do not book through them, they will not work with you should any unfortunate situation arise & you will not receive a refund. This is not a company that cares about their customers :(

This company is completely classless. Their customer service is downright scary. Their rates may be good, but let it be known that if you have any customer service issues, they will turn the other way and steal your money. Good luck trying to get it back as they care exactly 0% for their customers.

Booking went easy and smooth.

I also appreciated the possibility to get a cancellation option for free. Only 4 stars though as in the booking process combined with the coupon it did not become clear if I still have to pay the high deposit even though I paid extra insurance cdw.

It's a little difficult to understand what the final booked options are but at the end I think I got a good deal.
