X8 Drums did what they could to make sure the order was filled in time for Christmas, as they had to have it sent from the manufacturer. However, the gift did not arrive until December 30, which was disappointing.

I ordered two drums for a birthday party at the beginning of the month. I inquired twice about my order status. I received no response. On the website it states shipping within two days and response within the same time frame. Three weeks after placing my oder I received notification that my item was set to ship the next day. WTF!? STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED MY ITEMS....ONE MONTH LATER!

I would have said "very" because the salesman was very helpful in reordering the drum stands from someone else, but I have not received the drum stands yet and it is two days before Christmas!!!! I wonder if they will make it????

Bought an item that they do not currently have in stock, they did not announce it on the web page, didn't know I would have to wait a month for it .

Ordered a large djembe drum on november 15th.. received a small. When I inquired about it, I was told the manufacturer was 'out of stock' on the large one that I had paid for. Okay. So you send me the small one and hope I wouldnt notice I didnt get what I paid for? Then I was told that it would ship on the 14th of december. 5 days go by, I email AGAIN and am told that the manufacturer will NOT ship directly to me, and that it would not get to me until way after christmas, MAYBE the first week of january. At this point I am fed up and contact the manufacturer directly. The person I got a hold of told me that they were told by the x8 rep that I was 'okay with waiting'. Absolutely not. I was never even asked. It turns out it was a mistake on the behalf of X8, and it looks like they continually tried to cover it up and lie to me. I was supposed to get the drum today, still nothing. I will never order another thing from X8, or from Remo.

My teenage son began collecting unique instruments about a year ago and was so excited when he came across this site. I purchased the Dolphin Ocean Carved Djembe for his last birthday and he was so happy when he unwrapped it! I was blown away by the beautiful artistic design around the base and the overall quality. The picture doesn't really do this drum justice. So happy with our purchase and the customer service. We will definitely be back for more items to add to our collection!

I recently ordered a djembe from X8 drums and I am very satisfied. There was a minor mix-up with the pricing on their website that I noticed after already purchasing a drum, so I went ahead and chatted one of their agents for clarification. It turns out I was speaking to the company's vice president, who was incredibly nice and understanding. She wasn't offended by my situation either; rather, she asked me about the drum I bought and instead upgraded me to a better (bigger) version for free, and basically at a loss to them. To put it bluntly - you will not find better customer service anywhere. I've ordered from musiciansfriend, guitar center, and sweetwater, but the intimacy and friendliness of this smaller company is unmatched. Not to mention - the prices are excellent and the quality of the drum I received is superb! Thanks X8 drums!

As far as my drum itself I rate It 5 stars the free lesson is the reason I rate the whole experience 4stars was short and felt like it could have showed a few rhythms. I know this is a VERY minor thing but I just wanted to give a honest review from a noob. X8 drums can definitely expect future business from me.

To all you guys out there - x8 drums is advertizing african Djembes, while 90% of their Djembes in the African section of their web site are lower grade Djembes from Bali indonesia.
If you cannot recognize a real African Djembe from a lower grade indonesian Djembe, don't buy from them.

I bought a Djembe from X8 drums last year, knowing nothing about Djembe drums. When I made it to the Djembe group lesson, My teacher told me that I would probably not be able to learn on this instruments because it's not a real Djembe.
My teacher is from Mali and started playing Djembe when he was 5 and that's all he's done all his life - He is now 49....

I got some wooden egg shakers - they sound great and fit in my purse.
