Instead of saying you have been conned it should say you have been yelled they are not SEO they are sales reps who outsource your money to Pakistan who then do damage to your website per Google best practices, they will constantly give you the techy run around like we will get our manager to look yes we can see where you are going wrong we will tell you if you sign another 18 months contract BS, THIEFS WHO SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN BEFORE ANY MORE VICTIMS

I have been given a lot of empty promises regarding what yell will do to improve the situation where um tied into throwing good money after bad, I have the misfortune of having Ryan Oneil as my customer service manager, when I am emailed with a phone appointment by yell he does not phone, does nor get back to me by phone or email when I message, today I have had double the agreed amount of monthly charge taken from my account, there are easier ways to destroy my business than using yell. I paid for no 1 listing on my area and reputation manager. After a year I only had five clicks. I was mis-sold a product that doesn’t work. They would not let me cancel the contract so I had to pay for the whole year. Total rip off.

YELL assured me that my site was ok and the problems I could see on their viewer platform was just a glitch with my laptop (which is 6 months old and state of the art). Well they have finally put my web site live after 2 months and me spending probably 40 hours of my own time trying to get them to correct their multitude or mistakes and errors. SURPRISE SURPRISE THEY HAVE NOT SORTED IT. 1. The pictures that were cut off on view I was assured are fine and would look perfect online. Guess What? They are not and they are cut off as they were 2 weeks ago when I flagged it up and was told all will be ok. 2. I have asked them over half a dozen time to set the complaints policy next to privacy policy rather than standing out boldly on the home page?? (who in their right mind would want to brazenly highlight their complaints policy even over their services its beggar’s belief). 3. The ultimate one though is that on an I pad the pages don’t load. You go straight to the home page and then if you click on one of the others you go nowhere. If you are lucky you get there in about 5 minutes. Yes like someone will wait 5 minutes for a page to load (just to clarify I am on super-fast broadband with a brand new I pad pro and also I have checked straight after a number of web sites of friends on the I pad and they work perfectly). Please take my advice YELL ARE INCAPABLE OF DONG THE JOB!!!!! Yellow pages were outstanding I worked for them for nearly 15 years absolutely amazing. These Charlies don’t have a scobbie do. Please avoid and use a proper web site design company. UPDATE They have today advised me that the issue with the pictures is down to my inferior state of the art lap top. And the tablet issues are down to setting problems!!!!!! TOTAL AND UTTER RUBISH THEY DO NOT CARE ONE JOT

I wish I could leave a review with 10 minus stars! They absolutely outright lie about what their advertising can do to reel you in. They then trap you are you in a 12 month contract with no mention of your statutory rights. No leads come from the advertising. I rang up to complain told its my fault and I need a Yell website. The stats they show you only exist in yell land. Its all BS. You should be ashamed Yell you are targeting small businesses, that work really hard for a living. A days pay a month goes to you for nothing in return. Avoid Yell, read other reviews they all say the same.

THE worst mistake in the 1st year of business. I have not received a single lead through yell. A 1-year contract con. £ 500+. Use Facebook, Twitter; anything but YELL. I could not recommend them to anyone. No contact from them at all. Can't wait to end the contract. ABYSMAL!

PPC is daylight robbery. Probably the only service where you can legally take hundreds of pounds off customer with zero accountability. A loophole yell fully exploit.

12 month contract with yell for a website. Was a 12 month disaster. Cut my losses due to their poor service and a mental breakdown. Had no leads or customers over that year. Yell wanted £1000.00 upfront with £30.00 per month just to add a store to my website! Took full advantage of my lack of tech knowledge. Now they want an extra 2 months they say is outstanding. It is not owed! They went straight to Moorcroft after they ignored my last email in Nov and 6 weeks later, without informing me in writing by email or post and now refuse to acknowledge the debt if £84.00 is disputed! Horrendous company. Yell have even been downgraded by Moodys to caa1 rating! And if you check out I hate Yell group on Facebook you'll find HUNDREDS of customers who had a much worse time than me! There is also a class action suit pending against them from these angry customers! AVOID AVOID AVOID. ????

AVOID like the plague AVOID like the plague. This is the worst company I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. My fight is nowhere near over yet. The cold caller that calls you will tell you fairy tale, advise that there advertising will get you x amount of sales and they will look after you. They are not upfront and honest about fees. If you take ppc they will put what they like in your advert and not listen to a word you say. They do not get your approval before they make it live. They will have your ppc cost through the roof. Even on a small budget. They do not listen to what you want and don't want in your ad. I checked my bank to cancel the direct debit and I found they had 2 direct debits on my account. There should have only been one!! If you email they ignore you. They do not send an acknowledgement that they have received anything. The call centre is awful and will flat out lie to you.5 days of trying to talk to them and it just ended up with me loosing it and screaming at them like a fishwife. Still no resolution. They are in breach of contract and my next steps are legal action. PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THESE ABSOLUTE JOKERS. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT POOR IT'S NON EXISTANT. YOUR WEB TRAFFIC WILL DROP. YOUR SALES WILL DROP. YOU CAN DO A BETTER JOB ON YOUR OWN

After some good initial work, the service dropped dramatically to non-existent in the last 6 months. My main account manager was always changing and at least 2 of them admitted to me that their product wouldn't really help my particular business as well as pay per click advertising e.g. google ad words. Customer services would outright fail to call me back and refused to escalate any issues to any manager - terrible! Not only that, despite recognising their own poor service, they absolutely would not refund any of the last 2 months of this terrible service and threatened debt collectors etc. The only thing they care about is enforcing their contracts. As google and facebook have destroyed their old paper directory business, they are relegated to clinging on desperately and leeching off these superior internet models. I could not wait to end my dreaded contract and I advise all small businesses to avoid Yell and work directly on their presence on google, facebook, bing, yahoo etc. and/or use independent consultants and SEO to help achieve this.

Awful experience, no longer the Yellow pages of old Yell.com now only interested in getting you in to a water tight contract with hard sell and promises that never materialised, and then milking as much money from you as possible, for advertising and marketing that is worse than useless Then harassing you with debt collector's and solicitor's, with ever more ludicrous money demands

After being cold-called for weeks by Yell and speaking to the salesperson for 2 hours on the phone making sure they could do everything i wanted for my website, i agreed to go ahead. After agreeing to go ahead, i was passed to the introduction team to set up etc. Later on, i noticed i wasn't getting as promised on the phone. The team had set my keywords up wrong, my Ads were costing me double what i was already paying and my website dropped. I cancelled straight away to then be told by the salesperson to be "realistic" and it wouldn't be done in a few days but a matter of months after telling me otherwise on the call. Since cancelling, i have had no confirmation of my cancellation and being ignored or spoken to appallingly by the customer service team and sales team. My experience has been awful and i would not recommend another business to go ahead with this contract. Furthermore, i think the Yell team are not experienced enough in basic customer service skills and they need more knowledge about what product they are selling

Yell conned my company out of two months subscription at the end of my contract, even though I gave over the required 14 days notice. They are a bunch of thieves. Also, in the year that I was with them, not one person rang me up to say they found me through Yell. All new enquiries came via my own website that I set up and cost £10 per month rather than £86.72. PLEASE DO NOT USE THEM. JUST A WASTE OF MONEY.
