I had a very strange experience at this dealer. Having been a caravaner I am now looking to buy a motorhome but only when I find one that Is suitable and that I really like. Before my visit I checked their website and found several models which were of interest. Since this dealer keeps all of their motorhomes locked, a salesperson is required to facilitate viewing. The one that “helped” me seemed to have little knowledge of the stock and what was advertised on the website. He was reluctant to let me view several vehicles and even suggested that I should choose from a catalog and then he would he let me see the one I wanted to buy. The bottom line is that I am not going to spend around £40000 buying from a brochure. His attitude was really strange, everything was too much bother and he seemed totally uninterested in selling me anything. Perhaps he thought me a time waster with no intention of buying, which I am not, but I have never come across anything like this from any retail business and there didn’t seem to a queue of customers seeking his attention. I could go on at length but enough said, just prepare to be patronised. It makes me wonder what their after sales service is like. The thing is that they are the by far biggest dealer in the area and having to rule them out would be very inconvenient. Maybe that is part of the problem?

Bought a 2015 Motorhome December 2017. £33800. Great motorhome. BUT. Had to return it twice, at my expense. Heating in accommodation problems. NOT GOOD. When I picked it up after second repair. I had also asked for a £660 solar panel to be fitted. I asked service department if I could be shown how it works. I was told to READ THE MANUAL. What if I had been unable to read and was too embarrassed to say. This is no way to treat a customer. The solar panel should have been explained at the time of uplift of the van not two days later. Which is totally unacceptable in my opinion. With regards to my outburst. I had just been denied assistance by a member of staff. My conversation with Mr Dunne, if overheard. Was because I am registered deaf in my right ear and I am inclined to talk loudly as a result. I apologise if this was overheard by others. I have requested that three members of staff be spoken to. To verify my claims. All of whom I have named.Two for misinformation and one for denying my request for assistance with a £660 unit I had just had fitted. As of yet this has been ignored. Why are they so unwilling to answer two simple questions? 1. Why did two members of staff misinform me of Perthshire Caranans complaints proceedure? 2. More importantly. Why did a member of staff, on the day of collection, refuse assistance with a £660 item that I had just purchased? Hence the title of this article. TOLD TO READ THE MANUAL. This is all that I want them to answer. Nothing more. Two honest answers to two honest questions and I will be satisfied. And I say again dear reader. YOU BE THE JUDGE. I have since, requested a final decision in writing. The National Caravan Council require this to escalated the complaint. I have as yet received nothing.

They switched caravans without telling us and took our money having deceived us. They broke our contract and their own terms and conditions.I believe they have acted dishonestly. Avoid at all costs. On 27/1/2017 my wife and I placed an order with Campbells Caravans at Lostock Hall, Preston for a brand new Lunar Clubman Sb caravan to be built during March 2017 to be ready early April. On 6th April, 2017 being the collection day I authorised payment of the outstanding balance (having paid a deposit on ordering) in the belief and on the understanding that it was payment for the purchase of a new caravan having been built in March 2017 as ordered and as per the agreed and signed contract. We didn't receive the caravan we had ordered - they switched caravans. Instead we were given one having been completed 12th October 2016 which had been stood in their compound since 11th November 2016 and throughout the winter. vin no. SGLSOOOLUH1036259. They didn't tell us of the switch but kept quiet about it. The dealership requested and took payment in the full knowledge that we were not receiving the caravan we had ordered and believed we were collecting. It was dirty and had several faults despite being assured it had received a thorough valet and PDI. The gas and electric certification only had 6 months left on them. We sussed what they were up to and complained. We were treated disgracefully. We received no apology or compensation and their attitude was reprehensible. As Campbells were in breach of contract we were able to get our money refunded in full. Their cavalier attitude was such that they even breached their own terms and conditions. This has been the worst retail experience in my 60+ years. Everything I have said is well documented, truthful and accurate. Campbells are fully aware and have my complaint fully on record. Unbelievably Campbells are a National Caravan Council (NCC) approved dealer - so clearly that's no guarantee of honest dealing. The director was dismissive and unhelpful. No gesture of goodwill or even an apology. It seems this is a bad company from the top downwards. My advice is to avoid Campbells Caravans.

Very bad company to deal with. We had ordered a brand new caravan and they switched it with an older one in poor condition. The deceived us when they took our money not telling us what they had done. When confronted with their dishonesty they weren't bothered in the slightest. It seems that the dishonesty starts at the top levels of this shady company. They were obliged to fully refund me as they had broken our contract. No apologies, no remorse and no compensation. Avoid this company or be sorry. The Director should be disqualified from holding office.

I bought from Towsure a Towbar Socket 7-pin N-type (SKU: S5). I also purchased a Towbar Socket Gasket (SKU: S82) and a set of Towbar Socket Mounting Bolts (SKU: B68). All parts were received, but then found that the socket and gasket were not as pictured and the gasket was therefore the wrong shape for the socket. In addition the socket mounting bolts were far too short to extend through the socket, or any other socket I have seen. It looks like someone at Towsure might have realised this as they had crossed through the SKU on the packet. Unfortunately some other individual is still sending them out. I have contacted Towsure twice politely asking for their advice on these issues, but a wall of silence. Very poor quality of service and parts. Not to be trusted.

This must rank among the very worst of businesses to try to do business with. When the product was delivered the fitter who had travelled over 50 miles to reach our home found there were parts missing from the towbar kit that he was there to fit. Their attempts to correct the problem were febrile; the suggestion that they might put someone in a car and drive up to deliver it today were dismissed as nonsense and when I said "that was a stupid remark" the girl, who claimed to be a "manager" slammed the phone down. As the fitter pointed out one package containing bolts had been torn open and the opened package stuffed into a new bag and sealed. Dealing with this company has been a nightmare from the start. What went wrong - It would be easier and quicker to say what went right! -NOTHING IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING TOWSURE, I WOULD RECOMMEND YOU LOOK ELSEWHERE!

Went here on Sunday to view Motorhomes, at first they seemed happy to unlock a couple for us to look at, although they werent very chatty or friendly. Then when we asked to view another two the attitude was less than helpful, we felt it was a chore for them and we were becoming a pain. Although they did indeed open the other two it was obvious they werent happy to do so. Consequently we headed a little further up the A1 and spent our 60K. at one of their competitors instead. would not recommend them to anyone as if thats their attitude before you buy what is it going to be like if you have a problem

Buyer Beware! Aftersales appauling I purchased a brand new caravan on the 15th May 2019 from Tyneside Leisureworld, at handover i was informed that the front window has a crack, but a new one had been ordered, so foolishly i took the caravan. when i got home i discovered that there was no manuals, I immediatley telephoned and again promised a set of manuals would be ordered, the correct manuals have never arrived Since May i have emailed, and telephoned on 4 different occasions, and each time was assured that someone would get an update and call me back, not once have anyone told me a timescale for the front window. I have now contacted Trading standards, and no surpise, Trading standards have dealt with them before. my only option left is to takae legal action against them, all to get a windown fixed. I would not recommend anyone purchasing a caravan from them, things might seem good, but trust me, when things go wrong, they are not interested

They went through every detail of the caravan and accessories. They only deal in used good quality caravans. They are properly valeted for pick up and we were very pleased with their service

Went to visit site after long drive to view their stock.. Overpriced junk most of it. I subsequently got a much nicer, newer caravan for far less from a reputable dealer elsewhere. Certainly not worth the two drive to visit.

do not deal with this company I'm currently down £2500 due to their bad packaging which I can not get a refund for as the packaging had no protection and the item is broken. customer service is not helping at all. update/reply: so after fighting a battle over this their returns policy does not state anywhere to use a specific courier they have had the audacity to send over their help page and claim it's their privacy policy which was never sent to me upon requesting to return my item. after this, they then began to get multiple people to email me and waste complete time when this issue was already being addressed I felt very bullied and was not nice at all to have them gang up on me. again the statement was on there help page and did not help me at all as they send it after I return my item. after they realised they had no leg to stand on they decided to randomly give me partial refund after I said multiple times I do not want a partial refund and now it will be impossible for me to get a full refund as my bank insurance will not allow me to claim back on this as I already have a partial refund which I said I didnt want multiple times. II still did no want a partial refund and even here there is no reason to why I was given one. It's been a very frustrating ordeal, if they said to use a pallet on return I would have made sure of it. I reccomend they have a more indepth email when returning items as I had no help upon doing this and for some reason its my fault. with respect £800 for a company like you might not be a lot of money but for someone like me it is an awful lot. I did not want this partial refund cause I dont feel I was in the wrong. I have had a similar experience with another company but they were great and gave the money back straight away. further reply/update its not what you have done after I agree you have tried to help but the damage was done when in the returns email you literalyl gave me no information for the return of this. I was not told that the package needed a specific courier or additional protection. you keep bringing up pallet ways but this should have been stated on the returns that I was to use this company. I am un aware if the item was damaged to me as I never opened it so it may have already been damaged before I used ups. i did my best to ensure it wont be damanged I kept it in its exact packaging as stated on my returns. you keep bringing up the pallet but I was not told that this was needed to be sent this way. your returns has to be more in depth on this. again I wish that you were not so arrogant in your responses and fuels my belief that this was your fault, 'customers could send expensive cookers back wrapped in bin bags leaving us with no cover and forever out of pocket' I sent this in the exact packaging as requested and this is 110% out of my power as I have done everything asked of both involved. this just proves the ignorant customer service you have. still incredibly frustrating as the only silver lining with this was my bank insurance but as you gave me a partial refund after I stated I don't want it a million times this is now your fault that I cant get my full refund back and has caused so many issues. this truly is not my fault and it's a shame that a company as large as you or ups cant take liability. if I was told to use pallet ways on retun I would have.

I ordered an awning that was stated as next day delivery. On chasing after paying over 500.00, I was then advised that delivery was October. We agreed a refund which although having being told that my payment has left the company , it has not been received. Now I was also told that it was probably a delay with my bank, which is incredible and false. Beware, this is to date a genuine loss of money so far , and the funny thing is that I was ok with the error but not in any way this delay in repayment. PLEASE BEWARE.

SCAM. Yes you do get to enjoy a motor-home but don't expect to pay less then £1000 for a couple days. There are so many add on before and after the hire. The offer was £69 for 3 nights. After paying £100 more for insurance, bedding and other things you will need and a £250 deposit. They don't want to give my deposit back as they want more money for any reason. I was charged for parking my car at the depot which I didn't. So unacceptable.

If you need your £250 deposit back in a hurry DO NOT use this Company - I and two other people I recommended went away in November and we are still waiting. If you need a Company who will communicate with you DO NOT use this Company - I and my two other friends who hired a motorhome each have had no luck getting a result by talking to this Company on their web chat, via email or through many many unanswered calls. If they need to hang on to £750 this badly you have to fear for their cash flow and therefore their business model. From a reasonable experience initially this situation has deteriorated to an unacceptable level - I even emailed last week to state my unhappiness would be relayed via social media and my email remains unanswered. I have since sent two more e-mails without reply

We bought our third motorhome, a Pilote from Davan in Aug 2016. We had always had excellent service from the previous two dealers. Despite having had our new vehicle for a month, they did not do a pre delivery check on it. We got home to find at least 6 faults with it including broken shelves in the fridge, electrics to toilet not working, radio didn't work, the grey valve could not be opened plus others. When we called them about it the attitude was extremely indifferent and arrogant. Bring it in, they said expecting us to do the 200 mile round trip, again. This was appalling service, but their arrogance was breathtaking. They even sent me a card asking how could they improve? Unbelievable! Thank goodness we have sinced changed to a Burstner from Chelston Motorhomes, where the customer care is the opposite of Davan's. I BELIEVE Davans service would only be complimented if customers experienced no faults. Having worked myself for many years in customer service Davan have no idea how to deal with customers who have a genuine grievance. I also cannot recommend Pilote as they clearly sent the vehicle out unfinished.

Bought our Abbey Cardinal caravan from Davan in 2004 and thanks to their regular servicing it still feels like a new outfit. Never had any leeks or worries about the plumbing or electrics. The shop has all our touring needs at sensible prices and the staff are always pleasantly helpful.
