Nomorobo was one of the three 2013 winners of the FTC Robocall Challenge. According to PC magazine's 2015 review of the site, it's the only winner that has a service up and running on the web, and it's FREE! It does not work for cell phones or for analog landline services. But for all other landline services, it works. Supposedly. Hey, it it did for me -- instantly!! I signed up yesterday, and I've gone from 10 robocalls a day (minimum) to zero. I hear one brief ring and then blessed silence. It's a MIRACLE!!! And this just in time for onslaught of political robocalls that were about to crash down on my peace of mind like an avalanche. I am SO THRILLED!! For a more technical POV, here is an excerpt from that Sept. 2015 PC Magazine review: "The good news is that Nomorobo is free, easy to sign up with, and works as promised. I used to get at least one or two robocalls per day. The only sign of them now is that the phone rings once. If I'm curious, I can go to my Verizon FiOS account online, see the calling number, and search for it in a browser. So far, every blocked call has been from a known robocaller, with the number also showing up in my online searches on assorted sites that track annoying calls. The bad news is that you may not be able to take advantage of Nomorobo. Ideally, it should be directly integrated into the carrier's internal call processing, which is what Ooma Premier and Sonic do. And in principle, it should be able to work with any carrier. All it requires is that the carrier support simultaneous ring, so incoming calls can ring both your line and Nomorobo's line at the same time. In practice, unfortunately, that feature is currently available only on VoIP carriers, and not even all of those. It took me a bit of work to sign up on Nomorobo.com. I had to sign into my Verizon account (find the online ID, password, blah blah) and then follow the steps the site listed. But was it worth it!! I just can't understand why I haven't heard about this service before. I guess the truth is it's free, which means not much revenue, which means no advertising. I suppose they have grants or government funding perhaps? In any case, I wish I'd know about this site sooner -- it is WONDERFUL!!!!

The SIP.US Control Panel gives me all the tools I need to add, change and delete phone numbers. I can even order all the DIDs I need and set them up instantly. I love having access to these self-service tools, but I know the support team is also there if I need additional help.

You could get suspended for unknown reasons and lose your earnings. This happens quit frequently. Suspensions happen for real reasons to protect the site but also for reasons unknown with no fault of yours. Reaching customer service and resolving these problems tend to be futile and you will likely be given a canned response email. It still can be good place to make extra money, just be aware of what could happen and protect yourself first.

They said they would listen to the conversations and would give me a reply ASAP. 11 days since that talk and today they decided that I bought the right course, and, if I desire to cancel, they would retain 30% of the full amount "because I was canceling after 24 hours". This is more than disrespectful. The delay of 11 days to answer me benefits the company? Shame. Disappointed and frustrated with something that should have been a great experience.

MinecraftSkins.com, also known as The Skindex, is an online archive made for -- what else? -- Minecraft skins. Without an account, you can only download skins from the website, but WITH an account, you can vote skins up or down, comment on them, add them to your Wardrobe (i.e. save them for later), and, my personal favourite feature, use the site's built-in skin editor to make your own and upload them onto the site. There's not much I have to say about this site, so let's just split the review up into Pros and Cons: Cons: Trust me, there aren't many. The first con that comes to mind is the extreme lack of user-to-user communication. It's EXTREMELY difficult to get more than one or two votes at all on your skins, and actual comments are even rarer. Even then, the OP rarely responds to you. I'm the type who's a total loner, offline and online, so I don't particularly mind, but to each their own. My second complaint is the somewhat difficult-to-use Skin Editor. Its UI is fairly simple and straightforward, but the buttons to the left (Undo/Redo, Eraser, etc.) are VERY unresponsive, at least for me. And the Undo button undoes your error(s) one. Pixel. At a time. If you want to undo a big chunk of your skin but not reset it completely, then expect to be there for a while, especially thanks to the fact that the Undo button is prone to being unresponsive as I mentioned prior. I don't know if it's an error on my end or not, but the "Mirror" setting tends to turn itself off at random. It's difficult to explain what it does out-of-context, but I find it to be necessary if you want to finish your skin in less than half an hour. The "Fill" setting is also a pain if the arse to use. It's pretty straightforward, it fills entire sections at a time instead of one pixel at a time, but if you've already drawn on a section and use the Fill tool on it, intentionally or otherwise, then it will cover up everything you've already drawn on it with that single colour instead of just the pixels that haven't been coloured-in yet. And, when Undoing that, I've had it glitch out and pretend the use of the Fill tool never happened at all (i.e. it refuses to reset it, so I have to redraw EVERYTHING). My final complaint, more of a nitpick really, regarding the Editor is the fact that there's no way to know which side of your skin is the front and which is the back. It's a 3D render and you can turn it around to draw on the sides, back, bottom, top, etc., but, on more than one occasion, I've had to reset an entire skin that I put my blood, sweat, and tears into because I drew everything that was supposed to be on the front on the back. If I had a penny for everytime I've seen someone upload a backwards skin to the website, I'd be the richest person on Earth. Now then, onto Pros... Pros: Well, let's see... there're a lot of high-quality Minecraft skins on the website, all of the skins on the website are completely free to download, you can download and/or upload as many skins as you want, the entire website has a simplified design but it's very user-friendly, the site's community seems pretty friendly whenever they're not ignoring each other completely, and, my personal favourite, there aren't any features locked behind a paywall. I'm sure you've seen 'em before: the websites with "Premium" accounts, where they lock half of the site's features and blatantly restrict what you can do behind a monthly paywall (it's NEVER a one-off payment). DeviantART and LiveJournal are two examples (IIRC). Luckily, Skindex isn't one of them. All of these Pro's are pretty self-explanatory I think, so I won't go into depth with 'em. Howeer, there is one feature I would call a... Pron? Cro? It's the ability for any user to edit the skin(s) you upload and upload it themselves. I've never done it, so I don't know if there's a "Originally Made By ____" somewhere to prevent the user from claiming it as their own, but yeah, it feels... dangerous. On one hand, it allows you to fix an error for somebody, make it look better, and generally help them improve it. On another hand, however, people could easily claim it as their own since there doesn't appear to be a "Date Uploaded" anywhere, or they could edit it slightly and claim the "new" one as your own without giving you any credit for 90% of the work. Don't let the aforementioned feature scare you away, though, this is mostly hypothetical. I've seen friends editing each others' skins, people asking prior to doing it, people blatantly telling people in the description NOT to edit their skin(s), and the complete opposite (people encouraging others to edit theirs). So, if there's been skin robbery occurring on the website, I haven't seen it yet. I'm giving four stars instead of five because of the Skin Editor that is in DIRE need of improvement; if that's fixed, then I might change it to five, but otherwise, the site's pretty cool. I may (or may not) review Planet Minecraft, a more popular MC skin website that also hosts mods for the game, later, but until then, just thought I'd give the Skindex a fair review. They deserve it. Whenever I try to upload a skin or make one by myself, it logs me out and deletes everything! And so many of the people on there just copy others' skins and get away with it. They take credit for other people's hard work and the worst part is, skindex doesn't do anything about it! Not to mention tons of people naming their (often copied) skins "likes please" or "100 votes", and even though they say they'll kick you out if you do these things, they get away with them! Maybe if skindex improves on this and kicks these people out, or everyone stops doing this, I'll give this a higher score, but for now, I can't give it any higher than a one.

Seriously though the lore had my hopes high for this game, but after waiting for over a decade they have yet to do anything expect try to make a game a sport, which is a pissant dream; and make $#*!ty games related to league. The mountains of lore and creative content lead me to believe the company is trash and couldnt make a real game if they wanted. They can make it up though.

The game itself has become repetitive, but it's not because of riot. it's because the community has grown so entitled and so toxic, you can't play the game without having to mute atleast someone. And at some point, you've just seen it all, the game gets boring and with everyone muted all the time... well... the game loses it's charm

I really love this website. In the short time I have been using it I have found great friends. Yes there are other things to do on there but I think the best thing is that there are people from so many countries on there. I now have friends in the UK, Spain, Germany, India, to name a few! Sometimes if I am getting bored I listen to music on there and play the flash games. The jokes section is not bad either. I am sure I am forgetting something, because there is a bunch of stuff to do. The rooms thing is pretty cool, you can "buy" stuff from a shop to decorate your own room. Neat. Highly recommended to everyone.

I received a new router from my ISP, only to find that it wasn't on their list. Though the downside was, that it took a few days for support to nut out the support for my router, but once it was done; the rest was easy. I do felt support did everything they could to get support for my router and they didn't give up. I felt the price tag was hefty from my end (I live in Australia and the conversion sucked), the product did what was needed to do.

I've been a member since 2006 and in the last month I've spent over $300 because I saw that the site was picking itself back up from the crash it had a few years ago and I wanted to support them. And then they suspended my trading pass / marketplace store because of "Suspicious payment activity". Fair, it's to prevent fraudulent payments and a possible hacker. But it's been over three days, the charge on my card has already gone through and I've already paid for it. My pass is still suspended. I've emailed customer support and have not gotten a single reply. That's so rude, especially to a supporter. They try to shove premium items down your throat so that you'll keep shoveling more money, and then they block you and refuse to reply to you. I'm not supporting them anymore.

I'm back from a... 5 year(?) hiatus. The last I played was in the early zOMG days, and I stopped playing for natural reasons; growing old, university got in the way, etc. I didn't stop because the site was bad or stale. Basically, I got a sudden nostalgia trip and I was wondering how dear old Gaia has turned out in those 5 years. I was crossing my fingers that they managed to survive these past few years, that's how much I loved the site back then. So I log in with my old username, and lo and behold it worked! Excitement turned into dismay, however, when I saw that absolutely nothing of note has changed, at least with the interface. It looks old. Nothing new to pull in users. The interface is still as clunky as it was. And then I saw what had happened to its economy. 1 GC= 50 BILLION Gaia gold. When I stopped playing 50 billion was a god send. Now it seems like its worth absolute trash! What happened? What is the site doing to save itself? I can't fathom people spending ten dollars IRL for one new monthly item. It's pixels. All I'm seeing now is a site that could care less about what users it has left, and doing nothing to bring in new ones.

I have some concerns, however. Although the founder's hope is that it will raise awareness of depression as a serious and common issue that is frequently marginalized by the British health system, it may also have the opposite effect. Major depressive disorder is a serious medical condition and may require deep, persistent professional treatment; but there are too many skeptical people who will look at this site and take it as proof that the illness is something that can easily be cured without any professional intervention, just by filling out a few flashcards. And that's something to be avoided at all costs, since any chance to minimize the seriousness of mental illnesses tends to lead to less care and less belief in the existence of the illnesses in the first place. I don't wish to take anything away from the idea or the execution, and if people have supportive friends - by no means a given, in depressive cases - and are not in urgent need of professional medical or psychological support, this could be a big help in learning to understand the nature of their own mood swings. Many depressives will also become dependent on anything that seems to offer help of relief, and I feel this site should take itself more seriously and recognize that this is not just another area in which to develop a commercial internet scheme. If it becomes successful, it will have a responsibility to the people who come to trust, or place their hopes, in it. Part of that responsibility is to make sure new arrivals see a message advising them to call the emergency services if they are having suicidal feelings, and that the phone number of at least one voluntary helpline, perhaps the Samaritans, is there in plain view. Another part is to offer some help and advice to those for whom the site doesn't work at all, and who may become more depressed as a result. I am also concerned that not enough thought has been given to accessibility. The front page offers an explanatory video clip, nothing more. Almost everything else is presented by way of cool, web 2.0-style minimalist animations. None of this is even visible to people using browsers which are customized for accessibility. Depression and mood issues are not confined to those who will see and appreciate the design style of the site more than the content and older and more challenged members of the community are particularly vulnerable. I don't think enough consideration has been given to a wide enough target audience here. It's all good, as far as it goes, and anything that helps is welcome. But there are already mature resources online, and communities which function as self-help groups. This needs to be bringing something new to the table aside from what is basically a gadget with smart graphics, in my opinion, and be very careful not to minimalize the dangers of the illness, nor target too narrow an audience. Otherwise all those it might potentially help, but who currently wouldn't feel comfortable here, are going to feel left out. And that's a feeling nobody wants to encourage in someone who is feeling down and out as it is. Worth a visit, and perhaps a revisit sometime down the line, and worth using if you have the friendly support you will need, already. If you don't, there are other places to seek help with depressive illness so don't give up looking for people who will understand.
