I purchased travel insurance from this company in January for a trip to India in May. Trip was cancelled due to borders being closed. Silly me thought we would be covered by travel insurance. Not so according to the travel insurance company of the year. Denied as the trip was cancelled by the operator, in fact it was cancelled by the overseas service provider, after all what service could they provide. Used this company several times without making a claim. Would I recommend them or use them again. Not likely. Any excuse to get out of paying our claim. Full of excuses.

Top comprehensive cover purchased in JULY last year for a two-week trip beginning of April for two 80yr olds. Trip canceled due to Covid-19. Budget Direct has refused to cover them, happy to take the $900 for the policy though, shameful to take advantage of two elderly pensioners. Sending a strongly worded request to appeal on their legal responsibilities as per the terms and conditions this week. If that fails I will be taking this further and seeking a class action against budget direct. I will let you all know their response, if they reject it again I will be back asking who else wants to join.

1- NSW Disaster in March and we had a leak because the waterproofing failed. 2- We had a professional company try to stop the leaking unprofessionally but still we have leaking and blame waterproofing again (they said otherwise it will become worse if we did not attrent ) WOW . 3- We had them the second time trying to stop the leaking before the assessor come to look at it , and again fail to stop the leaking and again they blame the waterproofing .... POOR LITTLE WATERPROOFING So guys I'm so sorry that you are trying and going around and around and avoiding the real issue , but remember always . "what goes around comes around " Tomorrow morning I will call the insurance law firms to look at all the photos with dates and corresponding materials , because it seems like I fail to serve the truth as I'm not an expert in the LAW, my english is not that perfect , and because I believe there is something wrong . Also tomorrow morning we will cancel all the other policies with real insurance and I believe I have business too . bear in your mind we are large churches and communities and we communicate better than 6G . What you have done to our 7 members in the family is UNFAIR. For more than 5 months : 1-We were still continue paying you $202 a month. 2- We had and still there is a large Hole in the ceiling that looks ugly and all the visitors and many customers we see everyday wondering what is this ? 3- Discoloration in Pantry ceiling 4- Discoloration in laundry ceiling. 5- 8 bags of sand that are still on the floor of the balcony 6- The balcony tiles discoloration from these sand bags that have been left too long and they already leak. Stay well away from this one. If I could give 0 stars I would. Everything is fine until you try to claim. After asking me to provide the other driver's details when it was clearly reported that the driver hit and run, then claiming I had no damage to my car despite paying the excess and their approved repairer photograph and repair the damage. They then denied my claim to reimburse excess despite us not being at fault in the accident and have clear photographic evidence of the other driver's car crashed into the back of ours. They have no intention of expending an ounce of effort to pursue the other driver and literally sat on the police report for over 4 months before I confronted them, only to say that the police did not provide details of the other driver's address in the report. To top it off they later confirmed having spoken to the other driver bit not being able to proceed because the driver refused to accept liability or provide address. We have the other driver's car registration in photographic evidence and they still refuse to proceed against other driver. The same company would not cover a broken passenger window as well. Despite doing all their work for them we still came up short. They're not only incompetent they are knowingly cheating their policy holders.

Had an accident on March 4th where a city bus (public transport) hit the side of our car when taking a turn. We took the normal steps (filed a claim with Transport NSW, filed a report with the police, and filed a claim with the insurance). It is now March 31 and the insurance has done NOTHING to sort this out. They told us over the phone they would follow up with the police, Transport NSW, and a witness who provided her details, but nothing has happened. They did send a letter to me saying that I had hit their customer's car and that they were seeking damages. So they placed me, the person who filed the claim, as the person responsible for hitting my own car and driving away. We have had to call customer service at least 10 times to follow up on this; have had to make several corrections to the details they lodged in the complaint as they were incorrect, and have had to follow up ourselves not only with the police and Transport NSW but also with their own affiliate company responsible for tracking down the driver who hit us. They have been confrontational over the phone whenever we bring these issues up, and they still have the nerve to say that because they don't have the guilty party we will have to pay the excess on the car repairs. They have sent no communication to us whatsoever, other than a text message to my phone with my claim number. Worst service by a company ever, in the insurance and possibly any other industry.

Contacted them through their chat system, asking to give me a better deal since I've been with them for 6 years. We chatted for few minutes and gave a new info, bla bla bla... customer service's last reply was "Kindly bear with me as I update that for you." Waited for 15-20 minutes to get a reply and suddenly a new person, asked me the same questions. Here is the funny story... I didn't get any reply from that person. A new person came and we had to go through all through again. Guess what?! The previous customer service went out for LUNCH!!! HAHAHAHAHA... what a joke...

We have many vehicles, some of which were insured with SGIO in the past, we have moved away from SGIO because of cost. I recently was seeking a quote for a Hilux SR5. It was difficult to obtain, the operator had issues with finding the car and the eventual cost was some $700.00 more expensive than others. They seem non-competative.

I have been with SGIC for years and I was involved in a non-at-fault claim. IT was generally very easy to lodge the claim online (upload pics etc) and as my vehicle was written off I had the money in my account in about 2 weeks. However, this wasn't without hiccups, the staff members handling my claim did not even bother to look at the photos I uploaded including invoices of the baby seat which I claimed for as well as other personal items. Only when I told them about it they went back and checked and paid me the correct amount.

Have made two claims over past three years roof in my garage caved in after storm would not accept claim ,car damaged in shopping centre car park door and back panel damaged virtually called me a liar ,saying it was two claims not one ,will be cancelling my three policies,and my father in law has business and several houses insured with company and is in process of finding another company ,the aim of the accessors is to knock back as many claims as possible ,never do business with this company again have been with them 35 years and in that time only three claims have gone to omnibus had enough .

So i pay around $100 a month and Im telling you its the best value. i have made 2 claims in the last year. they totally rebuilt my dinning room and lounge from the ceiling down due to rain damage and then last week our son burnt down our kitchen and the total is coming up to $50k and we are in a nice hotel while we get it all fixed. I have been a full vehicle insurance member for around 4 years. This year I made my first claim. Someone (Unknown) backed into my vehicle while I was shopping. So I had to pay the first $600 excess..My issue here is not the cost of the claim, but the sarcastic response from the underwriter when I canceled my policy because they increased my policy payments because of an incident that now destroyed my no claim bonus. Shannons need to re train their staff on dealing with clients who are their breadwinners at the end of the day. Im happy to put up the email I received from this ........ Lets give him a Nick name

M049241328 - Accident happened on 25-October. Other party was at fault and Bingle would resolve the issues. I have sent the claims and to my knowledge, it was in progress and last time the suncorp assessor was very rude and sarcastic. I asked his manager details to give feedback about his behaviour and his handling of the issues. I have submitted all the proofs of payments for fixes and repairs but money wasn't credited. Their complaints team member promised a fix and said they have released the funds but it wasn't sent. then this assessor came but never was polite or genuine and said "I have lots of work to do, I am not free". When I asked you've promised to callback 5 times as I followed up with him five times and his response was such. He said he will send the escalation points in message and email but silently closed the case even without my knowledge. Wants an investigation. I want Bingle Australia leve complaints head's contact details to escalate this matter. I am going to approach ACCC. The Bingle/Sun Corp assessors' contact details below: [name removed] - 0427179549. Last contact date 25-march I have attached the proofs For last two months no contact at all.

We had fully comprehensive insurance plus the snow package and my daughter broke her ankle two weeks prior to skiing in Japan. Doctor said she could try and ski, but doubted she'd get her foot into a ski boot (she was in a moon boot only). Contacted Alliance who reviewed the situation and agreed to insure her for skiing with her pre existing injury (for a little bit more of course, but well worth it for peace of mind). Thank you Alliance.

Progressive is useless, they show no empathy when you have been a victim in a car crash - to top it all off they were short staffed on a Friday night! hopeless no emergency number ! Do not use this insurance they are evil. PS and the most disgusting thing is they never ever call back you need to keep chasing them they lie about everything. A year and my claim is still not resolved. I Feel sorry for the staff that probably get forced to lie constantly to their customers. Totally unprofessional company cannot handle people at all - no help when you need it - quick to take your money but when it comes to paying up they will do everything not to pay up.

Checked insurance quotes on behalf of my wife on Compare the market for Volkswagon Golf we are about to purchase, PD Insurance quote came up for $462.07 but when it directed me to their site I filled in the details & the quote came to $898.46. We are rating 1 drivers with no claims, no lost points on our licences, no age constraints & current comprehensive insurance. I can only suspect that this is a scam or a lure to get you on their site & possibly buy a policy, but why would you as it turned out they had the most expensive policy.

When I set off for a year of study in Israel I went with HBF as they give a generous discount for existing members. I have always found their regular health/car insurance to be excellent, but their travel insurance (outsourced to CGU insurance) has been a complete disaster. About 4 months ago I had to go to hospital with a severe gastrointestinal illness (turned out to be giardia). When I ordered the insurance I was told that they can arrange payment in situations like this over up front over the phone so I'm not out of pocket, but when I actually got to the hospital they said that they wouldn't pay for anything without getting the official report from the doctor first. As the hospital wouldn't admit me without proof of payment first, I had to give my own credit card and pay with that, then get reimbursed by the insurer. I do understand this, mind you - they need to wait to see if it's something I'm actually covered for before they blindly hand over money. My problem was just that this is not what they told me when I bought the product, and I'm just thankful that I had the money to pay for the treatment in advance or I would have been in a lot of trouble. The real problem came with getting the money back. Initially the claims team were very helpful, they replied to all my e-mails more or less instantly, told me exactly what documents I needed to give them, and even told me that I didn't need to get the doctors report translated from Hebrew, that they could arrange that for me. So far, so good. The problem came when I tried to actually get them to give me my money back. 3 months with no word before I figure something fishy is going on, so I e-mail them. And e-mail them. and e-mail them again. No response. About 15 or 20 e-mails later I get frustrated and say that if I don't hear from them soon (at least with an explanation of why its taking so long) I will be contacting the Financial Ombudsman Service. The next day I get an e-mail asking for one final document from me, and then a few days after that to say that my claim has been processed and paid. So, what could have been a week or so long process ended up taking over 4 months. 100% guaranteed I will never be buying travel insurance through HBF again, and I was very close to just cancelling all my insurance with them altogether.

Been with HBF for over 20 years. Recently went in to HBF at Joondalup shopping center to see what could be claimed for my daughter. I have major dental and orthodontics cover. She has 2 x impacted molars that requires having the gum cut back, rings put around the teeth and braces... $479 per tooth - out of pocket $413 per tooth! Braces $8690 and get ZERO back and would have to wait 10 years to get braces cover???These aren’t the only issues as I seem to get less cover but pay more in premiums! I asked the women “am I on the wrong cover?” Her response was not helpful and she did not offer me alternatives policies I could take out in lieu. All she said was “you’re mainly paying for hospital cover”. I said I couldn’t care less about hospital cover. I’m more interested in the extras our family needs.... optical, Chiro, physio, major dental and orthodontics. I said I’m paying more for less and “sorry” was all o got. The woman was useless and customer service poor. I went in specifically as I thought I would get better assistance and help going over my cover. Huge thumbs down. On another note we are now changing all of our insurances as we are getting ripped off by HBF. My husbands Nissan Navara renewal was almost $1500 last year. With RAC was $865!! .. could understand maybe maybe $100-$200 difference but over $600 difference? I was fuming. Absolutely disgusting and unconscionable. Looking elsewhere now for 2 x home insurance, 3 x vehicles and health

I have been with them for several years and they seemed fine until this year when my car was hit by beams falling off a truck in front. Despite photos of the truck, licence plate details, Stat Dec from me AND a witness who stopped to help, they still took 13 weeks to approve the damage, gave my repairer trouble and made no effort to ID the truck owner so stung me for the excess. Reason: you didn't block the road, stop the truck and demand the drivers details. Don't insure with them unless you are prepared to ALWAYS take the blame and lose your no claim bonus.

Two members of my family have used this service and both had legitimate claims - one injury and one travel delay/cancellation out of our control. They did everything they could to try and get out of the injury claim even trying to force my mum to fly back to Australia with two broken feet requiring surgery! On our claim (separate policy) we tried to claim cancelled flights and lost hotel room due to weather and travel company cancelling on us. I thought it would be straight forward. Nope. Completely denied. DO NOT USE! Complete waste of money and hideous service.

I had my Ferrari 360 Spider insured with Lumley Special Vehicle and as a result of an unfortunate break in, the soft top was cut which then had to be replaced with some parts of the convertible mechanism. It took me one week to lodge a claim with these guys and after 10 days of the incident, I was asked to take the car to the repairer. It has been more than 5 weeks since then and my claim has not be authorized as the assessor keeps asking petty questions from the repairer so much so that my repairer called me and said if I want to take my car to someone else, its just taking a space in the garage with no outcome from the insurance company. Whenever I call LSV, I get the standard answer every time - our assessor is looking at it and will come back to you with more information and then no one comes back until I call next time. I have spent hours on the phone hearing their wait music so much so that this tune has now started to affect my nerves. I am seriously considering going to the Ombudsman but bottom-line is they are terrible to deal with and they do not pay your claims so don't be enticed when they give you a competitive quote for insurance because they wont pay your claims and will make you go round and round in circles until you or your repairer give in.

My claim has still not been settled after more than 3 months. It is a simple fire damage claim but due to the incompetence of the claims staff and manager who refuse to drive the claim to settlement the car still sits at the repairer rotting in their yard. Unfortunately their claims team seem unaware of the insurance industry code of practice which requires that claims be settled in a timely manner and that customers be treated fairly and honestly. Their assessor is insisting on a second quote but keeps failing to obtain it. I keep being given deadlines as to when settlement will be finalised only to find that these promises evaporate into thin air.

I was shopping around and i found UbiCar which is a unique way to offer insurance, it is definitely not designed for boomers as your premium can change every month based on your driving habits but they provide a full disclosure on what your minimum and maximum monthy debit would be before you proceed, even if i drive crazy and the app picks up this and increases my premium for that month i found it was still atleast $13 cheaper then AAMI ! my saving per month compared to AAMI was $13-$42, also its based by a reputable insurance company called RACV

I recently took up a car insurance as well as a contents insurance policy with Essentials by AAI. Upon discussing their policies, specifically designed for low income earners with Centrelink benefits, Pensioners etc, including people with jobs not earning over a certain amount.. Sorry i can't quite remember how much..!! However, their policies are straight forward in what's covered and what isn't, you get 2 different selections to choose from on both car and contents. It's not an insurance for you if you want $50,000 cover, as this isn't an option. The bonus with this insurance is the first 2 claims are excess FREE! I myself have a sorted past, and not the best history however over the last couple of years have straightened myself out (been a good boy lol). Most people who have black marks on their name, whether drink driving etc will know how tough it is to obtain insurance based on a criminal history or bad driving history.. and I myself know all about this. Some insurers we're going to charge me a huge amount to cover my car, and contents, with a huge excess to match. I feel awesome knowing I have my stuff covered and there we're no objections, or any issues with the history I have. And as a low income earner I pay $21 a fortnight to cover my car and contents. UPDATE - 30/11 I am currently awaiting a claim i had to put forth for my car insurance. Unfortunately I had an idiot unlicenced driver hit my parked car at speed and totaled it. As nervous as i am awaiting the results of what they may offer, i'll be sure to update my listing once the result of the claim is finalised. I will also edit the star rating based on this result, so far though, the process of lodging a claim was extremely easy, my only issue so far is their lack of communication, where I was told on Tue, that they we're waiting to hear back from the smash repairs, and as i rang the smash repairs on the wednesday, i was advised that they had already sent paperwork and photos on monday. Just a good thing i am on to them, as it would have slipped through the cracks.. besides this, so far so good... UPDATE COMING SOON!! 3/12/2018 - Claim assessor called... was a better outcome than anticipated.. The assessor was friendly, easy to deal with and best of all, offered really what my market value was worth.. Thanks again Essentials by AAI.. really couldn't have asked for a more happy and stress free outcome :) I highly recommend this to anyone looking for decent low cost insurance.

My mother since 2000 has had a policy and the amounts keep going up, when I calculated the amount she has paid and what the insurance will pay out upon death someone is making one hell of a lot of money. It would seem that these contracts lock in your money and if you cancel all is lost. I'll be taking this further.

I have been paying premiums for my dog since he was a puppy (over 6 years means over $5,000, with minor claims amounting to maybe $800)... now he is starting to get older, the premiums are increasing, and so are the exclusions! I am not happy that my dog's quality of life will either suffer, or my expenses will increase more than two-fold. Unfortunately, if I switch to another insurance company now, I am likely to be hit with higher premiums and less cover due to conditions that have now been diagnosed... GRRRRR!

Policy is great value, only offering the things I need not offering me things that are of absolutely no use to me as is offered by my current health fund October 28th 2019 Update: Good product, nicely priced Havent had to use the insurance yet, and hope it will be some time before I ever need it ..... but so far the experience has been positive and expect this to continue into the future.

Yes Lodged a claim customer service in Geelong was ringing me to update where claim was as I was waiting for hospital to lodge paperwork The only issue I have is I have 2 member numbers one being extras with family and one being hospital on my own, Ive registered the extras online with my email address not realising that I cannot register my hospital membership online using the same email address. Im not going to create a new email address purely for hospital membership online but thought you should know as it would be good to have this option online for me to check progress of claims rather than ringing up all the time

Have been with them for only 1 yr and within a few months needed 7 of my sons teeth removed in hospital. They were extremely helpful. Have always found very little waiting time on the phone and they even reissued my reward bonus when I failed to activate it. Thanks George for the great service. I love the way they don't force you to do everything online!! We have basic cover but still peace of mind, in fact the price I paid with my old fund when swapping I was able to include basic extras. Now that's a bonus I never expected!! Seems only the people who have problems seem to do reviews. I must admit getting this through took patience and persistence, I can see how you would give up unless you had a crappy experience, anger makes you more determined.

The bottom line is my premium has almost doubled in the 4.5 years I've been with them so I am cancelling it. I had my first baby and went through all that with them which was mostly fine. One time though I was confused about part of my policy and had to call like 3 times and speak to different people, all whom gave me conflicting advice, until I finally got a clear answer. Communication from them is poor, and it's very hard to find detailed information about your policy. Also I thought under my policy my children would be covered at no extra cost. That wasn't the case, I was paying double for my child to be covered as well so straight away cancelled that. Was good to start and now I think the premium increases are insane (%12 this year) and they change your policy details without properly communicating exactly what's changed. So I will be cancelling.

I have been with Defence Health as a non-serving member for years. They have always been prompt with payment of claims and have provided knowledgeable assistance by phone. I cannot really fault. They are excellent also in that when I have purchased travel insurance for overseas, through another provider, they have put my monthly payments for health insurance cover on hold until my return from overseas and me providing all my boarding passes to/from destination. This has stopped me double paying for health insurance cover during my holiday periods. I don't know much about their travel insurance cover and service so would like to see more reviews specifically here about that service if you've had to claim or make contact.

I tried to join today Phoenix Health Fund, after being decades with a different fund. I was speaking to the Phoenix Health Fund telephone operator and we were doing the payment part and she said she had to go. She deliberately hung up on me because she wanted to go home. She said it was her knock off time. Very poor attitude. She was incredibly rude to someone trying to join, imagine what Phoenix Health would be like to those trying to make a claim. I don't need to be treated like dirt when I'm trying to pay an amount of thousands of dollars.

Recently received notice from HIF that my Goldstarter hospital cover will be changed to Bronze Plus starter hospital ( because of the reforms). Letter mentioned how great the new cover will be and listed the cover inclusions/exclusions however what HIF FAILED to mention is that AMBULANCE COVER will no longer be offered under their hospital policies. I'm a NSW resident, so being informed that ambulance cover will not be available is important to know. I think HIF is seriously in breach of product disclosure/changes and I will be escalating this matter to the Industry ombudsman.

I was told to day there were non profit. The wholesale price of 1.6 ground lenses is around $80 pair. The wholesale of the frame is around $55 at the very most. Lenses are made by a contractor. Why then is a non profit organisation charging me $560 $435 profilt If I had their extras cover I would still pay $230 excess. They claim its a service to members. Rubbish. Its corporate spin.

I paid for 20 years of hospital cover with NIB. In July 2019 they reduced my hospital coverage (to junk) without me asking and without me realising, and now they wont cover me for my neck surgery. The policy change was buried in the fine print of their updated user agreement. Read the fine print, and watch these parasites like a hawk, because they will do you over if you let them.

Terrible claims experience! Prior to a planned hospital admission, I phoned Latrobe on 4 separate occasions to ask specifically about our expected out-of-pocket costs. We were advised only of the daily $70 co-payment for our gold level hospital cover. Needless to say, when the $2000+ bill arrived some weeks later of which Latrobe only paid around $300 I was shocked and appalled. When I queried this on the phone, Latrobe advised they only pay up to a maximum of 25% - and this is for the highest level cover and I should consult the terms and conditions hidden in their product disclosure statement. They even acknowledged that despite me specially asking these questions before hospital, at no point did they mention this 25% maximum coverage. Had I known this information beforehand, we would have gone to a public hospital. If this doesn't constitute misleading and deceptive conduct by Latrobe I'm not sure what does! (H1 - Gold Hospital Choice Members)

I started my policy knowing i was wanting gastric bypass surgery. The staff put me on the right plan, gave me great advice and spoke respectfully to me whenever i made inquiries. Just over a year later i had the surgery and was covered for everything while there. I honestly believe I have come out even on the costs and never got any problems when making claims. I was about to change to NIB when I realised I could get the same policy with Qantas and get a large number of frequent flyer points at the same time. However I was soon to learn that, that this is all this policy is worth, the frequent flyer points. Their customer service is appalling. I was given misleading information from the very first conversation I had with someone. I had to call up to query the payments they had taken from my account as the amount I was told I would be charged and what was actually taken from my account differed. Then when I went to make my first claim it was declined. Upon appeal it was paid - apparently an admin error. Then when I went to make the same claim again, it was declined again and this is where I realised their customer service team were completely inexperienced and out of their depth. By this point I had received my frequent flyer points so I contacted NIB and left. Who needs the stress of claims being incorrectly declined, alongside incompetent staff. Avoid this health fund unless you are joining purely for the qantas frequent flyer points.

I had a policy with iman as I was on 457 visa and I had visited the emergency dept of the hospital as advised by a GP DUE TO a pain and when later went to iman for claiming they needed a number of documents and even after submitting the required documents they never came back to me telling anything and when I call them they said the claim was not accepted and rejected when asked they said it may be a cause of pre- existing case but couldn't give any details while hospital discharge letter clearly mentioned that it was not the case , and when questioned about their decision they said they need some more documents to reassess for their clinical team but didn't give exact details wat document they need and it showed their intent that they don't want to pay thaw claim and just wanted to reject the claim giving any reason and the whole process is going on for more that six months and still they want to run in circles to get more documents , as a customer I feel cheAted by this company and they even now say they wanted to help me bout need more documents.even when there is full details of treatment they say that their clinical team couldn't exactly assess which may be because of incompetency of their clinical staffs but we had to suffer for more and more documents.... 6 months round and round and still continuing. Worst experience ever

I have had significant difficulty in cancelling my Life Insurance Policy with Medibank Private that I have held for 5 or 6 years. After calling the insurance line, I was told my cancellation request would be passed on to the cancellation team and a return call would be made to my mobile. I have now waited for one week without word. I have had three missed calls to my mobile over that time from an unknown number - calls were missed as the call only lasted 10 to 15 seconds and I wasn't able to answer in time. No voicemail message was left. I have attempted to cancel twice in the past and was talked out of the cancellation by a very persuasive cancellation team member - a decision I regret. I have decided to be firm this time and not be persuaded to continue, but am not looking forward to the pending discussion. I do not appreciate such an obstructive cancellation process. I wonder if the cancellation team are on a performance bonus scheme?

I arranged my policy over the phone when I booked my holiday at the beginning of the year. This is the first time I have ever had to make a claim and I am thoroughly happy with the way that I have been treated by the company. They always responded within or before 10 working days to each of my emails and always remembered to ask for identification to keep my case secure. The staff were all friendly and helpful and all seemed keen to get my case resolved quickly which they did. I can thoroughly recommend them based on my experience.

Since 2006, i have been a longstanding member of cbhs, we are a family of five. One of our kids is special needs and she has had multiple surgeries and is in & out of hospital and drs. I have had all three kids privately with my own ob, in a private maternity hospital. All covered. Absolutely nothing to worry about!! I have made multiple claims too many to count to be honest and its very rare i need to be out of pocket. I have done comparison’s and cannot find a better deal at all, no excess, comparible rates and the benefits of our own doctors. Something that is important to our family!

I think cbhs is worth it when you first join and want to ditch the 12 months wait, otherwise it is rubbish. I purchased the basic hospital cover, which didn't cover private hospital theater, which I needed later on. My insurance specialist told me that my insurance literally covered for nothing.... With $20 extra a MONTH I could have gone with hbf which covers theater fees. This made me realise what a mistake it was to stick with CHBS. They screwed me over. Either stay with higher cover or get out!

After decades of paying top dollar for confusing Health Insurance and often being shocked by the often lower than expected refunds, well I just lost it one day and thought "enough, I want a better deal!" I did my homework. Discovered the ethics of Not For Profit alternatives and after much research decided on HCI. I've been with HCI for 3, close to 4 years now. Am so impressed with what they cover, HCI has never let me down from dental to preventative medicine procedures. So far I've had no serious illness where they have had to stand front and centre but I have every confidence if that should ever happen they'd deliver as good, if not better than all the greedy, profit making health insurance piranha companies. And they are so affordable for a self funded retiree.

We transferred our policy from Medibank to DHF thinking that this insurer (Avant), a policy for those in the health industry and spruiked as an insurer by doctors for doctors would understand how time poor we were for starters and would be looked after by our own. I rung them up to check on my reimbursement eligibility for certain Medicare item numbers and was promised that an assessor would get back by COB today which never occurred. Rung them up again at 1730 ACST only to be told that nothing was assessed and the assessors were all gone for the day. I and my patients would both really hate to be rung up tomorrow whilst I was in the middle of performing a procedure, and an insurer "for doctors by doctors" should very well understand these things. Please get your front desk act together.

Product reviews are normally riddled with bad reviews and rarely show the good, so i thought i would post up how my claim went, i buy my mobiles outright so insuring after the fact is a good move, insured my galaxy s8+ through trov for agreed value of 1300ish with a 200ish excess, dropped phone a few months into coverage, sent photos and made claim,they requested a repair quote which i got (these screens are insanely priced to repair) and they paid me out the next day. No fuss, did as expected and there were a few steps i had to tale but never felt like they were dodging the payout. Will use again with replacement phone!

I cancelled my $750 a month direct debit to OnePath's Life Insurance, Accident and Income Protection policies today, all claim-free and well over a decade old. Earlier this year I shopped the policies prompted by a flyer in my Chartered Accountant subscription and found NobleOak offered the same products for close to half the price. I emailed a fair inquiry to OnePath several times for a few months to no avail, eventually a call to say NobleOak may not cover me when overseas, NobleOak confirmed otherwise. I contacted OnePath with an open door to then compete to which they disregarded, the same request for review repeated to no avail. My action to leave then required as I have concerns that OnePath would do the same in the event of a claim.

We pay $8000 a year for insurance on our 4 units and a tennant in a unit went though with a hammer smashing everything up, doors, Windows, tiles just everything. I called the insurance company they sent someone out to look at it. In the end Resilium said they won't pay to have it fixed because the tennant did it on purpose and not by accident. In the end cost me out of my own money $35k to fix.

Customer for 20 years with no claims. Needed major orthopedic surgery. Did all the paper work preop in the hope all would go well. I am self employed and covered for only 30% of what I earn. At 2 weeks post op I am called to be told they wanted 5 years of my company records so that they can see if I make a profit and then they will select the best year and adjust my lousy 30% return down despite me having an agreed policy for 20 years. Eventually they backed down after a lot of stress,arguing and work from my broker who was awesome.Then they consult there medical staff and decide that I should be back at work full time at 6 weeks postop despite my surgeon and GP doing lots of paper work and telling them it would be in all likelihood 6 months with my job being on my feet and manual in nature. They did not care and just stopped my payment without even letting me know. DO NOT TOUCH THEM. Promise the earth and then when you need them treat you like dirt and will not pay despite all your medical advice telling them otherwise. FOR YOUR SANITY DO NOT GO WITH TAL

Husband has income protection insurance with a three month waiting period. Found out after lodging claim that Hostplus contract their assessment work out to Metlife. Hostplus sat on the claim for three weeks before handing it to Metlife, Metlife have two months from when THEY receive it to action it. Slow a snails. Finally got them to the point of looking at the information, then they said they would need info from the doctor, would send the request to him and he would have it by Friday. On Friday they sent their request to THEIR contractor to send to the doctor, doctor still doesn't have the request today, a week after Metlife promised to send it. What happens if they don't make a decision by the due date? You can ask AFCA to investigate, but then they have three months. Husband has already been without income for almost five months now, we could be looking at another four months from here - and he has been PAYING FOR THIS INSURANCE!!!! In the meantime, COVID19 has struck, and both Hostplus and Metlife are trying to blame in the increase in workload on that, but hubby's claim was lodged before that became an issue, so it really shouldn't matter, but they will make sure it will. What do people live on for 9 months without income? We have gone through all our savings, have redrawn on our mortgage, and don't know what will happen when we max that out. What's the point of having a job and paying for insurance? We'd be better off financially if I gave up my job and we both joined the Centrelink queue!! Hostplus and Metlife would apparently prefer that the taxpayer support us, rather than we be productive members of the community, with one of us needing temporary support THAT HAS BEEN PAID FOR.

Be careful, i changed companies to Terri Sheer and then i was notified by my agent that tenants are two weeks in arerrs. Then months later when i made a claim, i didn't get it. I needed to make a claim however they never sent me the renewal policy for one of my properties and I end up doing a renewal online. When I needed to make a claim they said I couldn't do it because I cancelled my previous policy. I explain what happened and they didn't care and I couldn't make a claim. Well, I'm moving my properties away from these guys... I pay insurance for reason.. not just to throw money away. Terri Scheer - you guys are so unprofessional and customer service is terrible. Hope your clients realize it before they need to make any claim.

I made a Claim for the first time ever and was hugely disappointed with the outcome EBM practically just paid me back with the premiums I paid over 5 years. Which has left myself with a large short fall avoid them at all costs. Now I’m giving away being a Landlord It’s just not worth it.

For the first time in 10 years i had to lodge a claim for a tenant that had abandoned my unit, damaged it and not paid rent. They were in a fixed lease until 31st August, last rent was 22nd May and we were not able to access the unit until mid-July. By the time the repairs and extensive cleaning was completed, it was nearing the end of the lease period in August. The claims specialist has agreed to pay 6 weeks rent only when i am out of pocket for 15 weeks rent (all within the fixed lease period). It seems they take the easy way out and pay the bare minimal, i honestly see no point in having them - the savings in $$ over the last 10 years would have been well more than what they are agreeing to pay now. I don't understand how they can only pay 6 weeks went when we couldn't even access the unit during that time? They're allowing no time at all for organising the repairs and allowing them to be done. Total waste of money and time.

I was organising life insurance for myself and my wife, they called my wife and after 40 mins interrogation they still needed another 20 mins. She was in tears after the phone call, she simply was taking antibiotics and sleep medication due to really nasty cough. She was treated like some kind of invalid and the questions were unreasonable, I can only imagine what they put through people who have serious health conditions. All they had to say at the beginning of the call that if you take prescription medication and saw a specialist recently, the call make take up to say 50 mins. We had a screaming child but they just carried on and when wife said she didn't have any more time, they never called back later to follow up. However they did take the funds from the bank account on the day, I have been chasing for a refund for over a month and they don't respond to emails. We got life insurance policies elsewhere with no problems and at a better price.

I was with them for 6 years. Never made a claim with them. I recently sold my bike and rang them to close/cancel my policy with them. The girl on the phone just laughed when she said that swann pay back the remaining money paid on the policy. That had been taken from my account 2 days before. A week later they have no done it at all. They love to take money but don't like giving it back and will OPENLY insult you. Swann treat people like crap, yet are completely confused why their reputation is going down the toilet. I would NEVER recommend swann to any MC rider period.

We purchased gap cover for extra $975 on a $9000 motocross bike as a recommended by dealership with fire and theft policy also in 2014. Bike stolen this November, so we lodged a claim with Swann. @ separate claims, 1 for fire and theft policy and separate gap policy claim. Sounded great. If you still owe finance, they will pay it out. Right ? Wrong ! It actually only covers any amount between the current agreed value of the bike ($5242) and the residual on loan. So, soon as you owe less than the agreed value, the policy is worthless within a short period of time. And as they pay out the finance from your agreed value on theft policy, all we are getting is the theft policy agreed value less payout figure of $1508, less $725 basic excess and another $250 excess for theft. Doesn't leave much for your pocket. AND, twice they have left the payout figure lapse and have had to ask for new figure. Now we have made another loan payment and as well as having to payout our policy to JUNE 2019. Good news is, if they catch the one who stole it in the future, they will get the $975 excess of him and we can claim it back. Would love to see how that goes, as I am sure the thief will be dying to hand over the cash.

I have had a policy with Velosure for a couple of year. I recently had an accident with my bike and had to make a claim. The staff at Velosure was extremely helpful and understanding. I could not believe their in depth knowledge of bikes and cycling. My claim was pretty straight forward but I was back on a repaired bike in less than a week. Serivce and cycling knowledge

We had the worst experience with velosure and our claim following the accident of our son (19) who broke his neck overseas. We never managed to speak with the same staff, all based in Philippines and Indonesia asking us forever for the same paperwork. Velosure asked us to contact the accommodation and other shops ourselves to try to retrieve his passport, belonging and bikes as velosure could not get in touch with them. They even suggested for my husband (who flew overseas to be with our son) to drive 500km one way + 500 km back to get his gear while our son was still hospitalized!! They had no idea of the distances between towns - did not even check, it is so easy these days!! They ended up asking the accommodation and other people keeping our son's gear to cover the freight costs themselves in order to send his belongings to the hospital!! and get reimbursed afterwards. You wonder what would have happen if they would have refused! They 'accidentally' credited us half of the money we were owned because you have to pay for all expenses and then you get reimbursed. The frustration having to deal with them added to the stress we already had with our son being hospitalised for three weeks. We had great experience with other insurance providers in the past, and will never deal with velosure again!!!

Very quick refund on my claim, however considering I have had my dog insured for the whole 6 years of his life, I feel the yearly increases in costs is way too high. I understand older dogs usually incur more vet costs, but his insurance policy costs the same as my gold cover, 100% cover health insurance..$170+/month. Also, I feel my having to pay the vet up front, before you consider my claim could be looked at. My sole income is an aged pension and I had to borrow the money to pay the vet.
