Hello all,

I am a new customer (all the way from Melbourne, Australia) to Alfred E. Bike (of Kalamazoo, MI) having chanced upon their store during a google search whilst browsing for some new accessories and bike wear I needed.

Over the past couple of months I have been making quite a few purchases of gear and I just so wish I'd found Alfred E. Bike much sooner than I did! It's not that I've had any issues whatsoever with any of the other great businesses that I've had the pleasure to deal with (in both Europe and the US). In fact those other businesses have been quite good in nearly all respects, however Alfred E. Bike have taken professional service to new heights for me.

From their straightforward and easy to navigate website, through their very extensive catalogue of almost anything that you are likely to want or need, to their VERY competitive pricing and reasonable shipping costs, the whole search, review and ordering process is an absolute breeze. But then the most fantastic and wonderful surprise was to find that despite the almost (as the crow flies) 10,000 miles (9794 to be precise) that lies between Kalamazoo (MI, USA) and Melbourne (Victoria, Australia) (thats 15,761 km's), not to mention the numerous transit ports for mail, transitioning through customs in the US and Australia, that my order of various odd shaped bits and pieces, arrived here on my doorstep with a friendly knock from my local "postie" just seven days after ordering!!! As I have said in separate thanks communication to the Stevensons and all at Alfred E. Bike, it is simply "bloody awesome stuff".

I will definitely be back to buy more gear from these guys, and I heartily recommend them based on my very successful experience of this week.

Super service - live in Denmark and was going to US. Send email to know if the product (Garmin Forerunner 405) was in stock and expected deliverytime. Answer within 24 H - super. Ordre and then there was a problem with my creditcard. Fast reply from the shop and they received a new one. The package was received one day before what I was told.

When I'm looking to buy something for one of my bikes, the first place I look is bestbikebuys.com to find the best prices. 95% of the time AE Bike has the part I need and for the lowest price. I still buy from my LBS for some items that I want to see in person or want to be able to try on. However I frequently buy from web based retailers because I want to get the best value for my money and there is no way I can find the diversity of products from any LBS that I can from a retailer like AE Bike, without having to have the LBS special order the item. AE Bike has been prompt and reliable in delivering the stuff I want in a timely manner. Highly recommended.

This time I ordered a seatpost, then had to add another part to my order 2 days later. I called AEBikes, they were great, added my extra part no problem. I've ordered from them before, their prices are great, their service is fast, they are easy to deal with. I buy bike parts from all around the world, basing my decisions primarily on price. AE Bike usually wins on price (always the lowest prices and best selection in North America), and always their customer service is great. Furthermore, their product descriptions always describe exactly what you need to know (weight, dimensions, materials, compatibility) without the marketing hype. This company defines how an internet BtoC should work.

I have only ordered from Alfred's once, but I was happy with the price on some hard-to-find bike panniers. Shipping speed was good and I will order from them again in the future if the need arises.

I've had excellent service from Alfred E. Bike and am now on my fourth order from this company. The price and quality of my purchases has been excellent and I have been surprised by how fast they ship.

I have spent so much money here over the last 5 years...it hurts me to think about it. And I have never ever had an issue. My favorite online bike parts vendor.

I bought my first good bike from Doug in the early 70's. My first 10 speed was a Schwinn Continental, but that one did'nt count. My first bike from Alfred E, was a Chimo Concourse with Suntour shifters and Diacomp brakes. I used
that bike for my daily commute and for my first century. I had it for at least 25 years, and passed it down to my brother-in law. Over the years I've had a Trek 1000 Aluminum. 2 Trek 2000 Aluminums, A Team Miyata, A Giant Cadex , A Burley Tandem ,A Miyata Terry Clone. A Trek Mountain Bike, and a Giant Mountain Bike. All purchased from Doug at Alfred E Bike. I got to know "Richard", his mechanic, and the Young Lady that managed his shop in St. Joseph. I always received great service and prices.As someone who has spent 40 years in sales,Customer Service and product knowledge is all important. Thank You Doug and Alfred E Bike. Your Missed. I have spent many hours researching items for outfitting my bikes over the years. One thing that led me to this site was a comment from a bicycle review website that said customer service was spot on. I have purchased a few items from this store recently with a new one today becuase I feel that I have found a store that cares for its cutomers. I will continue my patronage for future purchases. Nearly every part on my current build was ordered through AEBike, spanning at least 5 different orders over the past 2 years. I've probably returned 5-10 parts over this period as well. They've always been just awesome to work with.

Basically I would say they have great service, reasonable prices, and really knowledgeable people who always answer the phone in person. Once, I needed an unlisted dimension of a part taken and they were happy to take this measurement for me quickly and accurately.

The last time I called, I was going to return a part distributed through QBP in Minnesota. The staff member told me I may want to consider going to my local bike shop (also in Minnesota), because they could probably have it to me faster than AEBike. This honesty (plus the fact that prices are still often lower at AEBike than a special order from my bike shop) really make me a loyal customer.

Sure, you'll want to go to your LBS for repairs, special orders of rare parts, complete bicycles and custom jobs, expertise and advice, etc., but when you know what you're doing and just want the parts, AEBike is definitely your place.

I placed an order for $300 CAD for some small bike parts (chain, tape, cable housing, ball bearings, brake levers, grease) and Alfred E. Bike wanted $65 CAD for USPS international shipping. That's expensive! They advertise some of the lowest prices online but I believe they're making it all back by charging outrageous shipping and handling charges. For a test I ordered one $4 bag of washers only, destination Canada, and was charged $19.51 CAD for shipping. Something doesn't add up here! Their response was, "However, since you think we are actively trying to deceive our customers, i don’t think it is a good idea that we do business together." Back in 2011 they tried charging me $46 US to ship two chains and four hub cones. I complained and they lowered the shipping cost to $20 US and gave me a lame story about how the checkout cart tends to over-estimate shipping cost on small items and that they're actively working on correcting the problem. That was five years ago! They advertise that registered users get free shipping for purchases over $50 but when I asked they told me free shipping is for US customers only. That's not what's advertised! I'm never doing business with them again.

I've done business online with AE Bike at least 3 or 4 times now and the service has been outstanding. They also have a great selection of products, which is a major plus. I highly recommend AE Bike to anyone.

Good prices, nice people, easy to contact, and Seth stayed on the phone with me for over 15 minutes trying to resolve a supplier's mistake. These people know how to treat a customer. I will definitely do business with AEbike in the future. Thanks again!!!

I ordered a whole bunch of bicycle accessories of various sizes from Australia. Very happy with the quality of service, and particularly their attention to detail. Everything arrived in less than a week. I would definitely recommend them.

This was my third order with AEBike (with a fourth order just submitted). Prices are good, and for several things I've bought were significantly lower than other online bike stores. Each of my orders has always shipped on time and arrived in perfect condition.

Very good prices, excellent communication (they usually answer my emails in 4 hours or less) and fast shipping; usually it takes 1 or 2 days to ship your order when using UPS ground (it doesn't include UPS transit time), which is good by my standards and others stores experiences. For those buying bike parts and accesories overseas, www.aebike.com is an excellent option.

I have ordered from Alfred already several times during past two years (this time I got disc brakes for my new bike). Each order was completed perfectly, all the goods have been exactly as expected. Orders have been completed quickly, with shipping confirmation e-mail in one - two days. The goods are always well packed, so it is impossible to break anything during the long way from USA to Europe. I can recommend this site to everybody. Thank you very much! I'll keep with you in future too.

You have a nice online store but I think $7.50 for shipping a $11.99 part is a rip off. I ship stuff all the time and 5# across country UPS ground is around $6-7.

I'm disappointed but I need the part.
