I didn’t have a problem waiting until it came back in stock.
So I would periodically log into my account and use the online chat to check on the status of the order. I spoke with Nichole on a few occasions. Each week I was assured the battery would arrive in a shipment next week and ship to me shortly after. So when I didn’t get a shipment notice each week I would login again and ask where it was, only to get the runaround.
Earlier this week I asked Nichole where my order was and she quickly ended the chat session. I immediately logged on again and someone else (can’t remember her name) told me that the battery would arrive on 6/29/06. I logged in today because I didn’t get any notice. I asked Nichole where the order was and she said she would check. After sitting idle for 15 minutes or so she ended the session again without a response.
I clicked on the chat link to login again, but it said it was unavailable and I could leave a message. I left a message saying to cancel my order if it wasn’t going to ship this week.
Logged in later today and my order was cancelled.
Update - Called 1/31 and got the same "Post Office is holding our mail" story. They said they would call me on Friday 2/2 if they did not have it.
Follow Up - 2/9/07 I finally got my refund from them after 8 phone calls and the same "Post Office" excuse. These are lousy folks to do business with and I recommend that you look anywhere else to buy batteries.
Money charged is the one advertised
Battery shipped is the same one I ordered.
Would Order from them again, no problem.
Ordered a spare battery for my new personal camera. They took my credit card information and told me they completed the order. The very next day, they sent me an email telling me it was back ordered. I consider this a Bait and Switch practice, as the only alternative offered was much more expensive.
They showed *no* interest in working with me about this, even though I'm a corporate buyer. When I asked to cancel the order, I was promptly hung up on! I had to call back and hang around on hold till I could talk to another disinterested employee.
Dealing with this company is just not worth the hassle. They don't care if you are satisfied or not. Just do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.
I would never buy from them nor I recommend anyone to shop there.
According to the website, my order shipped out the following day, May 13th. Which means, according to their guarantee, that it should have arrived on May 21st or earlier. From May 13th to May 19th, the UPS tracking said "Billing information received." On the 19th, I emailed customer service to see if they had any further information. Almost immediately after I emailed, the UPS tracking was updated, with a delivery date of May 23rd.
Now, I don't know what happened, but my package obviously did not ship out on the 13th, as quoted on the website. I have my suspicions, but in the end, I really don't care. The "guarantee" does not qualify its refund policy. If I do not receive it within five days, it should be refunded.
I called customer service to get my refund, and talked to two very unhelpful representatives, including the "director of customer service." She told me that I "was missing the point," and that "the policy does not apply if UPS 'drops the ball.'"
Whatever. I don't care if UPS dropped the ball, if God himself hid the package, or if some careless warehouse employee went to lunch and did not send it out on time. If the site said it was shipped on the 13th, I should have received it by the 21st, not one day later.
Update: My order is still "At Warehouse". Spoke with customer service, told I couldn't cancel order. After pressing rep, was told they would call the warehouse to see if order could be cancelled, would call me with update. Four more days have passed, no call.
Update: Battery arrived in December, 7 weeks after placing order. I refused delivery, so it would go back for a credit (as customer service originally told me to). Waited 6 weeks, no credit issued. Filed a dispute with AMEX. Have now been advised by AMEX that Batteries.com did not respond to them so they are issuing me the credit. Good luck to those who purchase from this merchant!
I would not recommend shopping here.

There were no indications that the batteries were out of stock or would take 2 weeks to ship. I paid for priority shipping
There were no shipping confirmation emails, etc. so I'd know what was going oin.
I specifically ordered Duracell batteries. I clicked through an email advertising a special on Duracell batteries.
When I finally got the batteries they were Panasonic, so I feel there was a bait and switch.
I certainly won't order from them again.
