I gave 5 stars because every time I have contacted you I have spoken with someone who cares not only for me, but music. I am waiting for an out of stock delivery, but because I was rear with honesty and respect, I am prepared to wait rather than try elsewhere and one of your staff knows exactly why.

At the moment I am "learning" to play on a Yamaha YCL450 clarinet, but I know I will need to upgrade. I'm not in a position to buy another better clarinet, but, I have been invited to try various makes so I get the right instrument for me. When I am ready, I will contact you, rather than someone in York. Which is near where I live. I will continue to buy reads etc. From you and of course music. Thank you for being there for me.

I bought a Yamaha Clarinet following discussion with a member of Dawkes staff and received the Clarinet within 48hrs. 2 weeks later I am really pleased with the purchase as the Clarinet and I get to know each other.

I made 2 phone calls and each time I spoke to different people but both were friendly and helpful. A good place to go for your musical requirements.

I recently purchased a sax from them and all I can say is that Dawkes customer service is second to none. I spent the entire afternoon in their showroom and tried over a dozen tenors (at least!). The staff, Linda and Nick, couldn’t have been more helpful, friendly and patient.
Excellent from start to finish, thank you!

I bought a clarinet from Dawkes during the coronavirus lockdown - their website was easy to use, my telephone enquiry was dealt with by a very helpful member of staff, and the instrument arrived just a couple of days later.

The springs supplied by Dawkes were sorted and found for me after contacting them via a virtual assistant. I had some very exact requirements, and the person helping made every effort to meet the specs I asked for.
It felt like a very personal and rewarding experience.

I have played Alto sax for 8 months, wanted to try tenor sax. So I thought I would rent one, selected Dawkes, they had none available, so I sent message to enquire when they would get some more in, they gave me info, put one aside, as soon as they came in, they emailed to let me know and finalise paperwork. All sorted.
Would highly recommend.

The service is always helpful and the 14 day approval period is excellent, especially when buying a new mouthpiece.

Bought my first wooden clarinet online had an excellent response and fast delivery service also 14 days free trial, had to phone for technical advice, which was excellent thankyou for your good service and friendly service

Amazing really, honestly was a bit suspicious because it was so quick and easy, outstanding delivery time I was with me in 2 days and I was very shocked due to lockdown and I had placed the order on a bank holiday as well. Honestly I could not praise them enough. Thank you so much!

I was struggling with reeds for my Yamaha YCL450 Was getting fed up with buying a box, or pack, only to find that not all of them were playable. I'd recently ordered a book of music, so rang them to ask for advice on reeds, which is not easy to get. After a discussion, they suggested that I try a Legere Reed and advised what strength to order plus was told that if I registered with them, I would get practice and playing tips. I found the Reed easier to play and didn't have to **** the life out of it to begin playing. I also found the free tuition and practical advice on practice a tremendous help.

Dawkes went out of their way to deliver a new clarinet and help me choose a range of mouthpieces & reeds to try, getting delivery organised on a Sat in a BH weekend (during COVID lockdown). Service great. Also agreed to cover recovery of clarinet for any adjustments or repairs that may be needed. Highly recommend.

Service was very good my new Saxophone ordered on Friday arrived on Monday. Online help in choosing best model for a beginner and what mouth pieces excellent.

My ???? crook cork split when trialling 3 new mouthpieces on 14 day return during the Covid pandemic. John at Dawkes very kindly replaced my cork and checked it would take the mouthpieces in question against those in stock.
Was returned within 3 working days; and the 14 day trial recommenced from then. I have since chosen two of the mouthpieces to keep and sent the third back to Dawkes, who even agreed to apply my discount code retrospectively to my refund.

I have been buying instruments and accessories from Dawkes for myself and my children when they were learning for many years now. I've always appreciated the professionalism, the flexibility of the onsite workshop to undertake minor work while you wait and the returns policy. They are also in almost all instances the best value when it comes to pricing. Long may the Dawkes history continue its story.

As always very helpful, asked a question and they got back to me in under 24 hours, I placed an order and it was delivered as promised a lot quicker than some closer suppliers, can't fault Dawkes.

my son has just got into he's music,is doing music as a GCSE to.he learns by the sounds played and expresses he's feelings into what he hears into how he plays.he has a lot of medical problems and he choose Dawkes online by him self when we was looking for an instrument he was interested in playing.recieved the clarinet very quick and in great condition.hope to have many good years ahead of services with yourselves as will hopefully purchase one in the future.
