Please stay away as its not replacement for full insurance that you would normally get from rental companies. If you have damage, you will spend weeks sending documents and providing proof for your claim. If you are lucky to get any claim paid out, it will take weeks.

I bought an insurance for a mobile home I rented and had an accident. Now I am trying to make a claim to Rentalcover but for some strange reason I cannot log in. The web site says that my email is invalid. That email address is the same as on the invoice from the company and insurance certificate, which were by the way both sent to that particular email address. Since the login is not working I have almost no way of contacting the company. No customer support(without logging in). There is a considerable amount at stake and I demand a reply.

This Insurance cover is a scam. I paid 65€ for a coverage that the rental car company was not agreed with. At the rental desk, they were not agreed with that insurance and I had the choice to take no insurance or a full insurance for 120€. I lost my money here - I highly not recommend that insurance coverage company - you paid for nothing. Brice from Belgium - 29/07/2020

UPDATED REVIEW As stated in a previous review I had problems making a claim because of an error regarding my login. The problem lay in the fact that an another policy holder also got my certificate and my email was rendered void in trying to login to my account. I sent many emails to the to email adresses I got to begin with only automated answers which only helped up to a limit. Then I found a Facebook page for Rentalcover and I also sent a correspondence though Messenger. Slowly but surely I developed a conversation with the staff of Rentalcover and I manually sent them an email with all the nessecary documents. 12 days after I began these attempts every document had been sent and my profile was finally fixed, also I recieved an payment for 2.800 euros. The persons I corresponed with on Messenger was really helpful so all in all I am happy with the services from Rentalcover. I would have given five stars but the blind spots of the automaticity system were painfully revealed which I hope the company will adress in the future. But I am happy that this issue got resolved.

I faced situation when the rental car company charged me for minor damage 650 euro. I applied in rentalcover.com for insurance payment. I was really surprised when in two working days i got confirmation that my claim was approved and the next day all payment was on my bank account. Good job. THANKS A LOT!!!

Took out a policy in August 2019 to cover a vehicle rental as I was concerned about the number of exemptions in the hire company's rental agreement. I felt reassured that rentalcover.com's policy had very few exemptions. Unfortunately we were involved in life-threatening accident which led to the car being written off. Rentalcover.com's policy covered us up to $100,000 so we were initially relieved we had purchased additional insurance and their policy clearly covered our claim. This relief was short-lived. Rentalcover's communication was absolutely appalling. They took weeks to reply to emails. There was no contact number and they refused to provide one. They refused to speak directly with the hire company regarding the claim. They showed zero compassion or empathy. After 4 months they refused to pay the claim then proceeded to ignore us when the hire company started pursuing legal action against us. They essentially left us to fend for ourselves against the hire company because this wasn't a simple $500 excess claim. I eventually complained to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) who agreed that Rentalcover.com were responsible in full for the claim and also awarded us $2000 in non-financial losses. Even then it took over a month and multiple threats from the rental companies lawyers for them to pay even though they are bound by AFCA's determination to settle the claim. Do not trust this business, please use a reputable insurer!

I have been travelling to Switzerland and every time I would purchase insurance at the rental desk. On this occasion, the insurance at the desk was almost double the price for the rental therefore I have browsed online and found Rentalcover.com, thank God I did, I ended up scrathing the side of the car and having one dent on the other side, while coming out of tight parking space, the total charges for repair were CHF 5000+, with the rental excess at CHF 3000 I had CHF 3000+ deducted from my account. RentalCover.com had sorted me out within 7 days, giving me back all the amount deducted by the car company. Their communication is excellent, I do recommend you keep the following documents in case you would need to claim insurance: SIGNED RENTAL CONTRACT, COMMUNICATION WITH RENTAL CAR COMPANY, SELF DECLARATION OF ACCIDENT or POLICE REPORT, BANK STATEMENTS CLEARLY SHOWING CHARGES ON CREDIT CARD. So, in short, I recommend rentalcover.com, but be reminded that purchasing 3rd party insurance will incur in charges on your credit card which can be inconvenient. This company has not let me down, I cannot recommend them enough.

I purchased a policy prior to the current COVID-19 situation. When the COVID-19 situation developed I decided to cancel my travel plans and the policy. Upon cancelling way before the car pickup date they wanted to charge me a $10 (AUD) fee for a $25 policy.

I was very surprised because a cancellation fee is not even mentioned in their own Terms and Conditions. They also make "Cancel at anytime" a big selling point on their homepage. I see this as incredibly deceptive and anti-consumer. I have already submitted a report to the ACCC.

I have used RentalCover a few time but have never had to make an insurance claim ...... until now.
I made a claim and it was approved within 3 hours and I received the money within 3 days.
Could not be happier with the service provided.

Firstly, it should say 3-5 weeks not 3-5 days like it says. Then, be prepared to do a lot of work by yourself, they wouldn't do anything. Lastly, I'm not sure if you end up saving money since you'll have to pay international fees over the excess so it's almost the same as hiring it someplace else. I'll never use RentalCover again, it's terrible.

Had a chip on the front bumper of the car from Hertz Edinburgh airport after a month.
Got back to Australia and contacted this insurance company.
They gave me all the steps to fill in and I sent it off. Had to wait on my credit card statement to prove I had paid Hertz but as soon as I sent that 24 hours later they finalised the bill.
They put the money into my account straight away, So would not hesitate to use them again.

We hired a car in New Zealand which we unfortunately scratched - claim was approved next day after claiming and money in back within 3 days - I'm always suspect of insurance companies but now think differently.

I purchased a policy to cover a 3-week 4WD campervan rental in WA. The helpful service rep pointed out that I'd get better coverage as an EU rather than US resident (I'm both). I had to file a claim for windshield repair -- a chip from a flying pebble. RentalCover processed it smoothly and reimbursed me within a couple of days. Then the rental outfit contacted me again to say the repair proved inadequate and the whole windshield had to be replaced, and asked me to pay the extra cost. RentalCover reimbursed me for that as well without problem. All interactions were fast and professional.

The insurance with Apollo Motorhomes was $47 per day. At 30 days hire this would have cost me $1410.00.
Their insurance did not cover overhead damage/underbody damage/damage to the slider wall/awning damage.
RentalCover charged me $550.00 and covered all the above exclusions.
This was a saving of $860.00.
I had to make a claim for damage to the windscreen, and RentalCover paid me within 7 days, hassle free.
The set up of the policy was straight forward and customer support staff were efficient and friendly.

I booked accommodation and rental car through Booking.com
I wasn't aware of the car insurance company was based in USA at the time of booking (I probally didn't check it thoroughly), and had no incident/problems at all while driving in Canberra, however the car was spotted a minor damage on one of wheels on return inspection! First time in my lifetime I experienced this kind of insurance claim. I had to wait for almost 3 weeks of repair and payment process. I had all documents ready following 'How to Claim' instructions which was super easy from RentalCover.com (their website address). As soon as I lodged the claim, I received instant email that said my claim process begun promising that it would be done within 3 days. To my surprise, I had money into my bank within 3 days! Exact money I paid for the repair in Aust dollars, I have been fully reimbursed in Aust dollars. No other fees paid. Really satisfied with RentalCover.com

Our RentalCover car rental insurance was great value, saving us money on over the counter insurance with the rental car company (about 1/2 the price) and no excess. The policy was easy to set up and pay for online. During our trip we punctured a tyre in Kakadu and had it repaired, very expensive on a Saturday with a huge call out fee of $150. On return our claim was processed within 24hrs and we were reimbursed the full cost of the repair within a week. I highly recommend RentalCover.

Following the accident report and claim process procedure according to the webpage notices and e-mails it was a constructive process and was able to recover the rental excess with regard to my accident and subsequent claim. It all was a normal procedure to settle the claim of my accident based on the Rentalcars Rental Contract. It was a smooth communications process.
