BUYER BEWARE! Small Appliance conducts fraudulent practices. Maria from customer service told me that a refund was processed for the item I never received. I checked with my credit card and Maria did not issue the full refund. I am reporting the company to Visa and the Better Business Bureau. Not only did Maria give me the runaround for nearly 2 months but flat out lied to me multiple times.

This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I tried to call and explain that I've been trying to get a hold of the company for a while for a return. The woman who answered the phone not only gave me attitude, but started raising her voice at me and actually hung up on me on the phone. Not to mention that they sent me the wrong item. They wouldn't even correct their own mistake. Now I'm stuck with a part that doesn't even fit my pressure cooker. I will NEVER order from this company again.

Do not order from this company. They do not have an inventory and lie on their website about having it. Not to mention the worst customer support ever!

I ordered a replacement bowl for my Waring food processor. Although, it seems to have taken longer for delivery than I would have liked, the bowl fits perfectly. If the delivery had been a shorter length of time, I would give them 5 stars.

I would order from this company again.

I actually purchased from them back in March, 2002. This vendor also goes by the name "Turnpike Appliance Service Center".

They had one of the lowest prices for a razor part replacement. The order went smoothly and I received the item within a reasonable amount of time. No frills, no surprises. Fair prices.

I will order from them again, if the need arises.

Thirty minutes after I placed an order on the day after Thanksgiving, I found these reviews and was dismayed after reading them. I called the company, spoke with the owner, and voiced my concern. She asked about my order, indicated that the replacement piece I ordered may not fit (given the age of the Cuisinart food processor) and asked that I send them a picture of the model number and Cuisinart food processor bowl. Several days later (on Cyber Monday no less) she called to say that indeed the replacement piece I ordered would not fit and given the age of our food processor, it would be virtually impossible to find it anywhere. I asked that they cancel the order which they did without question. I appreciate their quick service and their assistance.

I ordered a jar and replacement screw about 2 weeks ago and when my order did not arrive, I called the company. They informed me that the screw is a special order that takes 2-6 weeks for delivery, and the jar is "out of stock" and expected to be in stock next week. I checked their website, and while it correctly identifies that screw is a special order, it says NOTHING about the jar being out of stock! When I mentioned that to the company rep, she said, "what difference does it makes since you have to wait for screw anyway?"

This is serious product misrepresentation. If I had known the jar would take at least a month (likely much longer since I have no idea when it will be shipped, if ever), I would have looked for another source to purchase the jar (such as e-bay) and I could have gotten my screw from any hardware store.

Website for legitimate companies clearly informs customers if a product is out-of stock, not mislead them by giving every indication that it will be shipped in 48 hrs.

I found their site by Googling the brand and model number of the particular mixer I wanted to order for my wife's X-mas gift. Good website layout with very good photos and descriptions of the items I was interested in - plus FREE SHIPPING!

I ordered a Kitchen Aid 6 Quart Professional Stand Mixer [KP2671XBK] for $369.99 on Dec 14 (Saturday night) and received immediate e-mail confirmation of order. At 2:01 pm on Monday Dec 16 I received e-mail saying item had shipped and was provided UPS tracking number. My order arrived via UPS early Wednesday evening, Dec 18. I was glad to see that the mixer in it's KitchenAid packaging was also packed inside a larger cardboard box full of stryo-peanuts. This prevented my wife from knowing exactly what was inside, since she saw UPS deliver it, and also kept the item from being damaged during shipment.

Mixer was in original factory packaging which was in perfect condition. However, I was very disappointed to see the manufacturer's product ID sticker on the side: KP2671XWH - a WHITE model had been shipped instead of the black one KP2671XBK I had ordered and received e-mail confirmation on. Packing slip also listed a black model. Hmmm...

I immediately called and e-mailed SmallAppliance.com about the problem and had an answer back by the end of the day from Mr. David Van Atta. He was very apologetic about the mixup and explained that their stock of ALL mixers was gone and they would not get any more until mid-January. He also made a very generous offer to credit my VISA for $50 if I would keep the white model that had been mistakenly shipped. At first I thought there might be some kind of bait-and-switch going on and immediately began searching the web for the black mixer my wife wanted after e-mailing Mr. Van Atta that I could not accept his offer.

SmallAppliance (Van Atta) got right back to me via e-mail again apologizing for the mistake and said that UPS would be coming by in a few days to pick up the package at their expense.

Although I did not end up with the exact item I had ordered, SmallAppliance.com's prompt and professional handling of the whole matter has convinced me to give them another chance when I'm ready to order again. Unfortunately, Christmas is only a few more days away and I don't have a mixer yet. Found a very good price on www.acehardwareoutlet.com and am hoping they can get it here on time.

I order a Stainless Steel carafe, approximately $50. The carafe was in perfect condition but the top was unbelievably scratched, scuffed and dirty. It appeared to be used.

They reluctantly agreed to replace the entire unit (wouldn't just replace the top) but the return shipping was at my expense. They expected me to pay an additional $8.99 to replace a defective item.

If an item is shipped defective it should shipped back at their cost, not mine.

Poor, poor customer service. BEWARE

I ordered replacement parts for a Rowenta humidifier on December 22, 2017. I never heard anything until January 18, 2018 when I got a notice of shipment. Called exactly at 9AM, when they opened, waited on line 4 minutes for a rep. Told the rep, I didn't want them. She told me it was too late they were already shipped and I don't get the notice until the PO has them. That is a lie. Notification goes out when they create the label. I asked why it took almost a month between order and shipment and rep told me they don't stock the item and had to get it from France and Rowenta was closed over the holiday. I asked why they didn't tell me this on the website or send me a notification it would be a long wait. The rep had no answer, was abrupt, never apologized and kept saying the same thing over and over again. She was rude and condescending. They charged me 7.99 shipping which they won't refund for a $30 item. I would have given them zero stars. FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO PURCHASE FROM - Bed, Bath and Beyond had the item in stock and i received it in a week with free shipping at about the same cost. Bad service and they lie.

#refund(3/5)

I ordered a gear box for my mixer back in mid-July and what was supposed to be a 4-6 week wait (according to a phone call from Renata after I placed my order on-line) has turned into 12 weeks with still no shipping of my part. I spoke with Michelle on August 12th and received an email telling me that my part would ship early September. I spoke with Shazaad on September 18th and was told, "It will ship any day". I spoke with Shazaad again on September 30th and was told it would ship October 9th. I spoke with Shazaad again today (October 16th) and was told it had not shipped yet, so I told him I wanted to cancel my order. He told me he could not cancel it himself, that someone would call me. That was over 3 1/2 hours ago and I have yet to receive that phone call. Well, I guess I should have looked at the online reviews before trying to do business with this company. I consider my order cancelled whether I receive a phone call or not, and my bank has been notified not to authorize any deduction from my account to Turnpike Appliance/SmallAppliance That is all. Signed: One very unhappy former customer

I have two orders from Small Appliance, and will use them again for repair parts. I purchased two parts from them. The second part order did take four months to arrive, however there was no other source for the part. When the part did ship, there was a problem, and SmallAppliance.com shipped the part a second time, at no additional cost. The full review is below.

My wife is a quilter and has a Rowenta DG8030 Steam Generating Iron with boiler. The Rowenta 8030 is used by many quilters for ironing fabric because the separate boiler is very effective for making reliable steam. The DG8030 stopped generating steam. I took it apart and it appeared that the steam generator was broken. When I shook the boiler, I could hear something rolling inside. The cost of a new iron is about $300, and a replacement boiler is ~$90. I ordered the part, and some other accessories (Rowenta "Sole Plate" cleaner) from SmallAppliance.com. I think that it took about three weeks for the boiler to arrive. By replacing the boiler, the iron now generated steam again. As I was testing the Rowenta DG8030, I noticed that the sole plate (sole plate = the flat bottom surface used to press against fabric) on the iron was not hot.

After some investigation, I realized that although the DG8030 was generating steam, the sole plate was not getting hot. Also, the steam did not appear to be shooting out of the bottom of the iron.

I tried using a multimeter to determine why the sole plate was not getting hot, but my electrical technician skills are weak. I looked at SmallAppliance, and ordered a replacement "steam iron" part Rowenta CS-00113181. This is the upper body of the iron, including the sole plate.

The bad news is that it took four months to arrive. Each month I contacted customer service, they replied that it would be 3-4 weeks, and every three weeks, they would reply "it will be another 3-4 weeks." After four months, I did find the part at Sears.com through another reseller, however when I found the part at Sears.com, the next day SmallAppliance.com had the part and shipped it to me.

It was a frustrating four months because of the inaccuracy of customer service concerning delivery dates.

Since the part was to repair an item used as a hobby, it was not critical, and my wife purchased another iron that worked, but is not as nice as the Rowenta 8030.

When the product was shipped and arrived at my business address, for some reason it was rejected and returned to SmallAppliance.com. I contacted SmallAppliance.com to see if I could get the product re-shipped. The SmallAppliance.com Customer Service Manager called me and said that they would re-ship it, at no cost, but wanted to make sure of the address. I had them ship it to another address. I finally got the iron, the parts easily connected, and the Rowenta DG8030 is now working again. My wife is very happy.

Overall, I am very satisfied because I am able to buy hard-to-find parts for an expensive iron. Even though there is a long wait, I will definitely use SmallAppliance.com again.

I quote my complaint to the BBB (6/5/07);
"received product destroyed by USPS in transit. Called vendor to resolve. Advised by Turnpike Appliance personnel that it is company policy that I cannot even talk to customer service until a minimum of 24-48 hours has transpired.
Today (6/6) I called since they had not returned my call within 48 hours again a my expense. Customer service does NOT have a toll free number. Their toll number is for sales ONLY. Advised to return package for their inspection. All this over a $20. glass coffee carafe. Not wanting to wait any longer, ordered item from another vendor. Informed Turnpike Appliance (AKA Small Appliance.com)to credit my account; still shipping cost and telephone charges are out of my pocket; they're probably more than the price of carafe!

I ordered a small part from this company for my broken high pressure cooker. It has been a month, I still have not gotten my order. Customer service's attitude is good and kind, but they said they could not control the manufacture's shipping. Then, my question is what is the reason for you to continue your business?
