Have to share frustrating experience with SmartFurniture.com. Ordered a Herman Miller desk chair that was described on their website to work on hard floors and carpet. You can see from the photo how well it works on carpet. Have interacted with 5 -6 people from the company whose job is to tell me the chair is designed that way and is not meant to be used on carpet (despite their website description), their advice is to use it somewhere I have hard floors (guess not my office) or look for a thicker carpet protector (it is scratching the one I have) and they would look at correcting their website description. Yep, that's it. My fault for using their website description to make a purchase. Making the customer happy with an improperly described and poorly designed product....not their priority. So recommend avoiding this retailer for your office needs.

Dumpster Fire of a company. Ordered Steelcase item took almost 90 days to process. Ship date came and went, was late. Finally after 100 phonecalls and emails Item finally shipped. Shipper calls, find out even know we paid for Residential Delivery SmartFurniture dropped the ball and didnt order Resi Delivery. After another 3 days of trying to get a hold of the company, finally they admit to the mistake and say they will call me back ASAP as they are going to get InstallNet to come install the item. 3 days later many unanswered calls and email, they tell me they never called InstallNet and now its going to be another week or so, even know this item is sitting 30 minutes from my house after a 3 month wait. Long story short, they are drop shippers, they have terrible customer service, they dont answer calls, they dont follow instructions and when you do get somone on the phone usually its farm animals, dogs, or somone eating loudly on the phone. Run do not walk away. We disputed our order with AMEX and will be posting this review on every available site so other customers do not have to wait 90 days to become a victim of this company. BBB complaint also to follow.

I ordered 6 Eames dining chairs. I took a chance on this company since I knew nothing about them. It turns out that it was a great thing! I ordered the chairs on the phone in under a minute (I am not even kidding about how fast it was). The chairs arrived quickly without incident. The free shipping was great.i was able to order the pre-sale. I only wish that everything that I ordered for my new place was this easy. Smart furniture you Rock!

Recently ordered the Herman Miller Aeron chair for my husband, who spends a great deal of time at his desk. He LOVES the chair...comfy, easy to adjust, and stylish. The best part about the whole thing was the ease of ordering on line through Smart Furniture! The description of the chair and the directions for custom designing it were clear and concise. I was kept apprised of the status of the chair. It was delivered promptly and in excellent condition (I recommend paying the few extra dollars to have it pre-assembled). The cost was the lowest I found. Smart Furniture is now on my computer's list of favorites!! Great company!

I purchased a table that was recommended to me by my designer. When I received the table--it did not look great in my space. I contacted Smart Furniture and they helped me return the item at no additional cost to me. I would purchase from them again in the future. They were responsive, helpful and very friendly. Truly a hassle free experiance!

After a great deal of research and time on the internet, I bought four Eames chairs from Smart Furniture, which arrived today. They are totally beautiful, completely transform my living space. The price was great, delivery easy - could not be happier. I will certainly do business with them again!

I ordered a dining room table on October 18, with an October 3 delivery. Several weeks later with delivery being delayed week after week, finally after talking to customer service several times I get a delivery time of three weeks after scheduled deliver and cancelled dinner party later they deliver a coffee table. Here I am several days later from this delayed shipping and incorrect delivery and after attempting to contact customer service serveral times there is zero resolution on when the new table will be delivered or any sort of compensation promise for this horrible customer experience.

Just extremely disappointing all around.

I purchased an Eames Walnut Stool (http://www.smartfurniture.com/products/Herman-Miller-Eames-Walnut-Stool-A.html) as a gift for my father. They had it in stock, it was perfect. Great service, very helpful.

I bought two Embody chairs from Smart Furniture in December 2010. Since one had dark casters they sent it anyways and then, at their expense, forwarded the translucent casters so I could receive both chairs together despite their in-stock situation at that time.

One chair had a broken arm due to factory or shipping issues. They resolved this perfectly and had another arm shipped.

They were great to work with - professional, friendly and competent. Pricing was good too.

I will be comfortable purchasing from this company again.

I was looking to buy a new chair and the people at Smart Furniture helped me pick one out to fit my needs and made the process easy and pleasurable.

They carry well know brands, so you know you are getting quality merchandise even when you order from them online, like I did. My chair came with a long list of instructions on how to put it together, but to my surprise, it was already put together in the box. I just pulled it out of the box and added a couple risers that I bought separately and it was ready for lounging.

I should mention that I made a last minute change to my order and they did everything to make me happy with the order. I would not hesitate to buy from them again.

I ordered the Think Chair and they were able to ship it to me in one week even though I ordered a custom color. The chair itself wasn't to my liking, so I called up customer service (who answered on first ring) and they quickly provided me with a prepaid return shipping label. Easy and great to deal with, exactly what you expect from an online retailer. I will definitely purchase from these guys again.

I have ordered several times from Smart Furniture, but my most recent order was for two of their 2'x2' bedside tables. Since I had already bought shelving from them, I knew the tables would be easy to put together, which they were, and have a great contemporary look, which they do. They were also on sale, so the price was especially nice. Delivery was fast (2 days) and items were well packaged. No problems. I placed my order online so my only interaction with customer service was when they caught my order being delivered to my billing address (a PO box) instead of my home address and emailed me to be sure of my intent. That saved me a hassle so kudos to them for that.

I purchased a Herman Miller Noguchi coffee table from Smart Furniture on July 2, 2012. The table shipped the same day. I received a call from the delivery company on July 6, notifying me the table had arrived in Houston. Of note, July 4th was a holiday. The table was delivered the first business day thereafter.

The service from Smart Furniture was exceptional. The product is excellent and shipping was free. If you want a quality product and the best service, Smart Furniture is your best choice!

It is rare that I give any business or person “5 out of 5” stars for customer service. I’ve always felt that this rating should be reserved for absolutely unquestioned, above and beyond, stellar service.

Well this is one of those occasions that I am more than happy to award a big enthusiastic “5 Stars” to Smart Furniture and specifically Melanie Silva for absolutely unparalleled customer service, attention and accommodation. In fact, in this instance, I would be willing to award "6 Stars".

I just completed a rather involved return and upgrade purchase transaction through Melanie. She was simply incredible in the attention she paid to every communication I had with her. Always prompt in replying. Always informative and helpful. Always friendly and cheerful in her emails. Both she and her associates several times responded back to me on Saturdays and even a Sunday. Always there to be helpful, courteous and supportive of this multi-part transaction.

End result – I will be a Smart Furniture customer for life and a lifetime Melanie Silva fan. I just cannot recommend Smart Furniture and Melanie – and her associates (Karen, Christian, Christie and Adam) – high enough.

Businesses with such a customer centric and “do what’s right” values, attitudes and practices don’t come along every day. I really would like to provide them with the most resounding “shout out” that I can.

The other merchants claimed it would take roughly 4 weeks to get me the two pieces of furniture I wanted because of passing thru customs and shipping 400 lbs across country.... Karen at Smart Furniture listened to my request, provided me with outstanding service, processed the order efficiently and the items which had originated in Toronto, Canada actually arrived in here in Phoenix 5 days later!
