Surprised to see so many 1 star ratings for Trivago. Found it helpful several times when looking for a decent hotel deal. Don't travel much, so maybe I'm not as picky. I do have specific requirements such as an in-room refrigerator and microwave. Trivago let's me filter hotels for both.

Their information page lacks a lot to be desired if not just flat out misleading. We rented a room in Lubbock, Texas with the address marked I at one location only to be deverted to another location on the worst possible side of town. Then we were told we couldn't be transferred to the original location. And on top of that we couldn't get a refund. We will never use Trivago again. Bye bye!

Trivago will make a reservation and give you a confirmation number for a hotel and when you arrive there will be no room for you and your reservation number in the hotel's computer it happened to the gentleman in front of us who used Trivago and it happened to us you're sitting on a sofa at midnight waiting to get into our room when payment has been taken off of our credit card Trivago is an absolutely horrid way to abuse your time do yourself a favor and don't use Trivago ever unless you like being extremely inconvenienced

Was nice to have the pool, but would have loved a hot tub to relax muscles after walking in the city. Jonathan at the hotel bar had great personality and was very welcoming. Hotel was clean and concierge service was phenomenal!! Hotel was clean and upscale. Valet was on spot. Free breakfast was below standard, but it was free...so can't complain.

Recently spent 2 nights half board at Cases Noves Guadalest. The food was outstanding. The quality of the services given by Toni & Sofi, was like none we have every received anywhere in the WORLD! The rooms had everything one could need, with stunning views of the beautiful mountains and the little village. An ideal place where one should come to recharge their batteries. We would most certainly visit them again, sooner rather then latter. From Carol S.

I really enjoy the curtesy of our front desk speacialist, Persio was very kind and generous to help me and my sister enjoy our post birthday weekend at International Plams tree resort. I was elated with his service and kindness to upgrade our trip complementary... Overall experience was good thanks for having us, Persio u rock!

Like burning money? I booked my first trip with trivago in January on a third party site called Otel. I paid $1785 upfront for 4 days at Hyatt Regency coconut point. The hotel told me on 3/28 that they had canceled all reservations after 4/8 because they would be closing for corona virus. After numerous emails and internal messages I realized that the company has no intention of returning any of my money. Trivago says it's not their problem and Otel.com is completely unreachable without a working phone number. I paid $1785 for a voucher to a closed hotel that's not worth the paper it's printed on. 4 month later I'm still making payments to the CC card company for not going on this trip to a closed hotel (corona virus related temporary closure).

Cheap hotel, smells of ethnic food, looks bad on outside, rooms ok but need detail cleaned and painted. Bathroom need help. No fresh toilet paper. Lobby dirty and messy with owners kids stuff. pool nasty with werid algie on bottom. Ice machine not working. AdAdvertised breakfast...burnt coffee reaked in lobby with a packed honey bun on plate. Cheap enough for one night but never go again.

Was looking for a hotel in downtown Toronto, so set the search for "Downtown Toronto / Close to CN Tower..." (a pre-set selection) And it came up with all kinds of hotels in Mississauga, North York, etc. I'm sure the prices were good but don't have the time to look through all the crappy recommendations. Hotels.com was so much better for search

Tried to book a hotel same night. Didn't notice that default dates were more than a week out! No way to get a refund. Not happy!!!!! Trivago subsequently contacted me and kindly offered to pay the difference. I suspect that the default dates are chosen by looking for the cheapest rates within a few weeks. Just be sure you check the dates before searching or booking!

found a bed bug right as I was going to bed. Notified the manager who then called the owner. The owner showed no instantly became rude n condescending. Flat out blamed us for bringing them in. No plan to remedy the problem. We requested our refund n left. Inspect thoroughly the beds ! Think twice before considering staying here. Magnify that picture!

Their customer service is awful. It is impossible to speak to anyone or get an email response. Right on the middle of the Corona virus I cant get any response. I am basically out $800. No response on a request to at least move the date. I will never purchase with them again and recommend travelers try other sites.

Only after the booking is complete will you learn that there is an additional "resort fee" on "the total price" quoted. At the same time, you learn that if you cancel, you will be charged a $40 cancellation fee. The total price quoted was $125. The actual charge on my credit was $164. Cancellation would have cost me $40. This is definitely illegal, but I don't have the energy to fight over $39.

Their persistent and excessive TV advertisements are enough to drive anyone bonkers. Whenever one of their ads come up I immediately change channels. I would rather use any other travel site than theirs.

I am a bargain shopper and make nearly all of my purchases, small and large, online. You see the TV commercials at least a half dozen times a day on how great it is. Because of this brainwashing, I always go to Trivago at least once for travel rates. Funny thing is I've made exactly zero purchases through the site. With a little more investigation I'm ALWAYS able to find a better deal elsewhere. I don't know why I repeatedly waste my time shopping this site.

If you ate a hotelier don't use them or fall prey to there incessant sales calls. They have no regard for Uk consumer rights and within the company they will not record or act on any customer complaints. After looking into the company further its clear to see that they have a very poor or none existant customer service record. Don't use them in any way as if things fall fowl you will not recieve any satisfaction from this company.

I booked a room through Trivago promising room, breakfast, free valet parking. Next thing I knew, a company I never heard of called 'Canelon' had withdrawn $886 from my bank account; they represented they were working for Trivago. When I got to the hotel room, my 'special rate' was no where. In fact, the hotel doesn't work with either Trivago or Cancelon, no monies had been paid on my behalf. I was then charged the full stay (+$32/night valet) on my card. I have now paid twice and never received a refund (or acknowledgement of wrong) from either Trivago or Cancelon.

Spoke with beverly very nice and understanding,the hotel is comfy and has a indoor pool,free good breakfast,pleasant place to stay for a weekend. everything from restaurants,shopping,lounge very close by that's a Plus:) Just hope that the parking spot for costumers get renovated! to many holes,cracks ;/

We were phoned by there sales team to sign up for a 12mth listing which we paid by credit card. Without our authority they held our card details and charged our card to renew the listing for a further 12 months without any notification they were doing it in the middle of the lockdown. Tried calling them about it but have not replied to our emails. This is a shocking way to deal with there providers and I will have to chargeback our card as this has never been authorized and in my view is just straight fraud.
