When I switched last Dec I did it through a price comparison site using their stats on future bills,
I'm disabled and on benefits so the money is tight
This was accepted by Engie and a contract was settled until 2021 on a fixed tariff of £45-65 which I was happy with, I do understand they do a DD Review every 6 months in April I was contacted to be told my DD would increase to £66!!!!!
I rang them and refuted it a nearly 50% increase after the call it was agreed to keep it at the rate initially agreed. I rang them today with an unrelated issue but during the convo we got on to DD and I was told there would be a review at the end of this month(Sept 2019) and again I was told it would probably be increased to £66 and again I questioned this and was told to ring them again to talk about it with the possibility it may stay at the agreed rate,
Now I consider my self a low consumption user I live on my own in a 2 Bed Flat and I always send in my meter readings my bills are never estimated, My question is I'm told these bills fluctuate given the time of the year we are now coming to the end of summer why has this new increase not lowered given the time of year why still £66, also why after a phone call is the price kept at the original tariff of £46 does this then mean that despite my fixed term tariff till 2021 there is over £21 a month being added on to my account but its hidden
I'm assuming there will come a time when they hit me with a massive bill!!!!!! there telling me I'm using more energy month on month I dispute this I'm very careful with my usage and I can honestly say I have not used my gas heating at all these last 7 months, I have asked that they send me a breakdown of every kilowatt used since the start of my contract in effect I have been charged more since switching from my old supplier from day 1 there just hidden behind my original fixed price tariff that I'm now locked into until 2021
Summary
Completely ripped off and lied to I will be leaving but its going to cost me £60 for the privilege AVOID AVOID AVOID

They weren't interesting in extending my contract for another 18 months.

I couldn't renew contract over internet because I was existing customer. Web page referred to renewal team.

Customer Services Renewal could renew contract in 2 weeks time and 4h in total me over the phone. Excuses: system fault, plan disappeared, plan isn't right for you, we will call back tomorrow.

I gave up after 3 weeks and went with another supplier... Then received a letter with congratulations what I'm now on their cheapest plan what was 40% more expensive then I was on. By the time I had new supplier. Final bill looked a bit over then expected, but I thought I will waste more time and money by putting things right.

They had Client Software update going for 3 years, never finished Customer Account window. 60bn pounds worth cowboys company...

I spoke to Andrew Taylor this evening who was very helpful and professional. He took on board everything I said and was a star. A total credit to your company, particularly as my enquiry was somewhat confusing, with family members residing with us at various intervals over the past few months.

Not only was he professional but polite and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and through him I now have peace of mind knowing my calculations are within the estimated range.

The first letter I received from Engie threatened to turn off my hot water during the Christmas period. I was then unable to contact them over the phone. Charming...

They then requested I send answers to the following questions in the post, which I'm sure anyone with half of a brain can see is ridiculous so long as you value the security of your personal bank accounts:

1. Mother's maiden name
2. Name of first pet
3. A memorable place
4. Your favourite colour
5. A memorable date

I have no choice to use this supplier at my current address but fortunately, I will be moving in three months time. I feel sorry for the next occupant.

In short, rude and moronic.

I have only given ENGIE one star because there wasn't a way of rating them ZERO. Where do I begin with the apalling service and the year from hell I have had with this company? It started with a maverick salesman conning me out of a £500 deposit I still haven't had returned, months of incorrect gas billing, three months (to date) of hiked out-of-contract admin charges and inflated tariffs. Broken promises and deadlines. I don't believe this company even has a 'complaints department' and they may even be in bed with the Ombudsman so I'm not even confident my compalint to the latter will get results. If you eventually get a member of staff that really seems to be 'on it' and 'working hard to resolve things' don't celebrate until you actually get what you want: this has happened twice now and all seems well for a few weeks until they disappear and it all goes quiet again. I am of the opinion that this is a deliberate company policy to keep you hanging on -especially if you're out of contract with no options. They'll just string things out as long as they can while emptying your bank account! PLEASE PLEASE PASSTHIS ON AND HELP TO GET THIS COMPANY SHUT DOWN!!!!!

A new energy company this year, and has exceeded in what it promised to do when we joined them 3 months ago, extremely good value and no issues so far, so just perfect :)
