Avoid this company like the plague. Customer service is non existent.. We purchased Cedar driveway gates from them. OK when we received them my husband and son in law hung them. No damage was done whilst being installed. Next day there was a large split in the grain of one panel. Contacted the company and we were told they would send a repair kit, A REPAIR KIT for gates we paid £1500 for. I asked to speak to a manager and was told by the girl that she was the best I was going to get. I contacted a director of the company via facebook and he apologised for the way we had been treated by customer service and said he would arrange to have the gates picked up and repaired at no cost to us.He has told us today that he has changed his mind and will not be doing anything of the kind as we had posted negative reviews about the company. Despicable company and only good reviews are acceptable to them. They should be ashamed

I fitted my gates just over 2 years ago. They cost over £800 after a few months they started to rust the powder coating began to flake off I would not recommend this company. Poor quality and expensive.

Thank you for the extremely efficient way my order was dealt with, the gates are wonderful first class, now my poor little dog cannot see who is going by but still barks at everyone. fast delivery and good price.

My advice and experience is keep away from this company the quality of the wood is inferior it bent twisted and had gaps within 6 months. The attitude of the company when you speak to customer service is terrible. I am suspicious of the five star reviews when my experience was exactly like all the other one star reviews. Be warned.

Regarding the reply this review it is utter tosh, I repeat take my advise and stay away from this company.

This Is my second order with G and F. The first a few years ago was disappointing due to the extremely long wait time and lack of communication - but the end product was superb. This time, I received ongoing emails with progress of the build which allowed me to plan effectively for the installation. The product was again well made and a perfect fit. I would have no hesitation in recommending this firm, just ensure you have an adequate lead time plan for installation.

I purchased a set of London driveway gates (circa £800 - not cheap) approx. 5 years ago. In the first 1-2 years they looked great, but after a 3rd winter started to deteriorate.
I continued to follow the preservation guidelines, staining and re-coating the doors as specified, but now the condition of the paneling is so bad (buckled & shrunk) I either have to replace it myself or buy a new set of doors. There are multiple gaps in excess of 3-5mm between panels, which are held to the frame with a single screw on 1 side at various heights. I should also point out that one of the frames has now started to come apart.

Based on other reviews I haven't bothered to contact the company, I just wanted to share my experience on what appears to be a common problem.

IMHO these gates should be made with thinner panels, 94mm instead of 120mm (as per other long lasting gates I have on my property), or each panel should be fixed with 2 screws at various heights)

Lesson Learned - I should have paid the extra for a set of quality hardwood gates.

Response to Reply: I've only ever used Sadolin or Ronseal, spending in excess of £100 over 5 years. I treat my other (much older) gates with the same product and they're still good as new. The problem is not the treatment I've used.....it's the quality, time to listen to customer feedback.
