Where do I even start. Apparently it’s normal practice to advertise and also confirm in writing that I will be receiving an order I paid for then send me something else because “they cannot guarantee vintage stock”.
Purchased a vintage 2009 bottle of Dom Perignon as pictured on the Hello drinks website for a very meaningful celebration (the year was VERY specific and held special place in ones heart). I followed up at time of order with an email to support confirming that it was definitely a 2009 bottle and the importance behind it. I received a response a few hours later confirming “I will be receiving a 2009 bottle”.
So, to my horror (and 3 days out from gifting) I received a 2010 bottle of Dom Perignon. I tried desperately to contact them to explain the importance and that I needed the 2009 urgently. I received an email being told it was a mistake and that a 2009 bottle would be sent priority. I asked them to confirm the time frame as I was now stressed and tight on time time and then received this is response -
“ Hi Lauren,
Apologies for the late response. We cannot guarantee vintages at this stage as stock changes over so frequently from supplier. We are trying to source milk the 2009 bottle, but can’t guarantee it.
We can have the bottle collected & returned or we can provide $10 credit on your account.
We strive to create top-of-the-line products that our customers love, and we want you to be satisfied with everything you purchase from us.
Please let us know how you would like to proceed and our apologies again that you weren’t completely satisfied.
Sincerely”
I am absolutely appalled and the back tracking not to mention the lame $10 credit to use with them. Is this seriously how business’ are allowed to run these days? I’m now left with an overpriced bottle of 2010 Dom which I could have got from Dan’s 2 mins up the road and $20 cheaper.
Seriously don’t bother with these guys. Wish I had read the reviews before buying.
