False Advertising. Purchased 3 guitars that were backordered. Apparently reserving an item just puts you on waiting list, and the eta got moved back another month. Customer Service just read scripts and patronized me. Told them to change their shady ways, but it unlikely. They even treat their employees horribly, how can they give true customer support? Take your money and time elsewhere.

Have used MF for years, they used to be the top dog for music purchases. Recently their shipping times are worse than competitors, their return policy for instruments is absurd, you lose the cost of shipping from your refund and you have to pay to ship it back. So basically you cannot test an item, where as with other competitors it is a FULL refund. Trying to return items is also horrible, I have waiting over 20 mins on the phone just to talk to someone and you're lucky if the chat ever responds. Ive sometimes waited over 35 mins for an answer. Just buy it from ZZounds or amazon.

"MusiciansFriend" sold me some download software (Steinberg Cubase). Only Steinberg says I need a USB dongle to run it, and Musicians friend didn't provide it. Steinberg says "sorry they should have told you" "MusiciansFriend" says (haha got your money,) "we can't refund digital downloads". I also one time made the mistake of thinking I could return something purchased from "MusiciansFriend" to a guitar Center (owned by the same company). If you are fond of your money, go somewhere other than "MusiciansFriend"

Deliveries late and missed Christmas with my order by 3 days, then when I contacted them they were going to refund my purchase, but then sent me RMA instructions instead. Lies & terrible customer service is their company policy!

I ordered a powered pedal board from musicians friend it took over a week to arrive and it didn't work it was an open box deal it was faulty and they resold it anyway they emailed me a return shipping label so I sent it back today now I'm out the pedal board and over 100.00.they say they will return my money when it arrives it has to go from central fl to Kansas city I'm lucky if I'll see that refund in a month.should I not receive my refund I will complain to every one I can in the government state and federal that deals with businesses that steal from people.i will never make another purchase from musicians friend buyer beware

Ordered on the 14th. Slill in "processing" on the 20th. They had 5 business days so I called the 800 number to cancel. The operator was totally oblivious to the fact it had not even been picked or shipped[they can only charge you when it ships...so I knew] but instead insisted I could not cancel because it was "probably" going to ship later that day. Next day still in "processing". But by then I had stopped payment. And I went on "chat" and nicely told them what I did and why. Over the past 15? yrs or so I had spent thousands there but the quality of service and especially shipping has gone way downhill. The kicker was when during the conversation I told "phone-man" that AMS usually delivered next day and that Sweetwater usually 2 or 3 days...he told me impossible, no way, and that's not true. Basically calling me a Lier. That was the proverbial straw that led to freezing the account and severing ties forever.

This was my first, and last order. I have been on the phone waiting to speak to a rep at least three times. They said that they first ship by UPS and then USPS takes over. I told them they have a rotten system and they will not be getting my business again. As of this writing, I still have not received my order. The USPS tracking site says that the package is not in their possession and this after placing my order one week ago. STAY AWAY.

Very unhappy with there service!!! They clearly took my payment for merchandise they did not even carry. I had to call them to find this out nearly a week later. Meanwhile, It was a x-mas gift that I could have purchased from another place, but now too late. They simply do not carry this item regardless of what the web site says. They informed me that this item is indefinitely not stocked. Amazon has fulfillment policies and Musicians Friend does not. Go through Amazon! Good return policy and guarantee fulfillment.

I have been waiting on a violin for my 9 y.o daughter for 30 days. The site says it's back ordered, I simply want to cancel my order but I've called 4 times and waited at least 4 hours with no one answering the phone. Reply to this review and cancel my order and I'll take down this $#*!ty review. You guys absolutely suck !!! I will never order from you guys again and I'm a musician and buy a lot of gear. Beware of this $#*!ty company !!!

It is impossible to get in touch with anyone at this company to discuss anything order related, yet I constantly get emails for their sales promos saying to call or email. Don't waste your time, with these guys!

Here's how it happened... 15 years ago I started ordering from MF and never had an issue. Sweetwater was sold out of the Taylor I wanted, so I got on MF m's app and it said in stock!! I ordered right then. Me being the review guru I am, I decided since it had been so long I would check their ratings (after the purchase, I know silly). I see what you've been seeing. Horror stories of packages coming beaten up and recycling restock items, customer service being terrible... etc.. etc.. So I get a little panic in my stomach. I figured I'd just have to ride it out now, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered on a Friday night and by Tuesday evening I was playing my flawless, perfectly packaged, brand new guitar. Now, I didn't have to deal with customer service, but on SUNDAY I repeat SUNDAY I recieved a call from Rick my "gear advisor" who left a message and email to make sure that everything was going smoothly with my order. He offered me the tracking info and gave me a direct line to get in contact Maybe I just got lucky? Maybe they're getting their act together? Or maybe only people with bad experiences leave anything on here for them. I enjoyed doing business with them. Easy, and smooth

I have spent thousands of dollars ordering from them because over a decade ago they would always give me the best deal I could find... by far! Now they are affiliated with every other music site so you can't haggle, every site just gives you the same deal a different way. ex- full price plus a case that costs $20, other site says full price with a warranty that costs $20, other site says they will give you $20 dollars off. More of a choose your poison attitude now rather than trying to get you the best deal so they can be the one to make the sell.

promises shipping in 5-8 days, kept saying it would ship the next day cancelled after they couldnt ship an instock guitar within 8 days. i ordered another guitar. came with a pickup that doesnt work so great, ok stuff happens, i order a strap, never shows, up, they take forever to reply to me, then when i ask a refund they never reply for weeks. other places offer free 2 day shipping fed ex to your door, they respond to emails and phone calls. one time i emailed MF to ask a general question never got a response 6 months later. thats why i spend my money elsewhere, horrible company

Have spent $ with them before. Bought a guitar that was "scratch and dent". Yes, at a discount - 30%. Evidently there are levels of "scratch and dent" Levels 1, 2 and 3. They will not disclose that. Level 3 is for parts, which also was not disclosed. The one I bought showed up with a busted up head stock, evidently Level 3. For a $1000 guitar that I paid $700 for...you have to be kidding me. I would return it, but there are no more of them. Crazy Glue it is. STAY AWAY.

I have bought countless items from musicians friend and everything has usually gone well. over the last two weeks I have called 6 times trying to buy a guitar their website says they have in stock. a Batson Raven. I am paying with a credit card and there is a coding issue on the guitar with their warehouse is the problem I continue to be told. 6 different selling agents over the phone all promise they will get back to me within an hr that the issue is corrected. no call back! no regard or value of my business [email protected]

If these people had the option of zero, that's what they'd get from me. I ordered a guitar and amp system a month ago. I received the head but nothing else. I checked the tracking number, and it said it doesn't exist. I tried calling every single contact number available, and nothing. I've spend hours on this. No response from the chat section either. Lied to about my order by 5 different employees. Ordered a guitar for my husband, an ER provider in Seattle. Trying to give him an escape during these very stressful days. Order was out for "verification" according to the first employee I contacted. Second employee said it was shipping out a week ago, third employee said it needed review, forth employee argued with me, fifth employee (supervisor named Tim) apologized and said he would ship it right away overnight. That was 4 days ago and the guitar shipped last night economy ground via UPS. Definitely a lot of mistakes made with no repercussions to the deceitful employees. I'll never buy another item from MF/GC. My husband has spent well over $30k with GC over the years. Will not get another penny from us! If we did our jobs so ineptly, people die.

I spent over 1200$ on an order for my sons birthday. On one item, they overcharged me by 100$. It was literally out of nowhere. My receipt was emailed and shows price of item at 205$. Then 16$ tax. Then the total goes to 317$... I'll never use them again. Filing a dispute with bank

Ordered a $70 guitar case that is too large for my guitar. Called and received a Return Authorization. Problem is . . . shipping it back to MF would've cost me over $60! Seriously. UPS, FedEx, and US Post Office said the size of the box makes the shipping cost so high. Bottom line: I'm stuck with a guitar case that I can't use and don't want! Next time will order a guitar case from Amazon Prime.

cancelled an order no problem my bank that i have my mf cc through sent me an email saying i have 0 balance nice job! but my available credit was minus the 738.00 on the order i cancelled so i called mf and they are telling me it will take up to 6 months to credit back my card never ever again will i orderfrom them i now have a guitar center cc. they have 10 times more stuff and have yet to have anu problems with guitar center over the years. avoid musicians friend at all costs, or it will cost you
