I had to ring over a problem with my online application, the 'phone was answered in three rings, I spoke to an extremely helpful person who sent me a paper application urgently, as I was about to go on holiday. I returned it with my cheque
and was notified of receipt whilst away.

Investment was easy.When it came to maturity I rang I spoke to a man I told I would re-invest and he asked the 10K or all of it, I said all of it.
I went on holiday the day after and I have just looked at my account online and seen that the interest has been paid into my bank account.
This is not a problem but why don't people listen these days, they always want to talk over you.

I had a letter in March which advised there was a particular one year rate available but this was not mentioned in the previous letter which just referred to the website (on which no one year rates were available). As it happens, I had not yet decided to place the funds elsewhere and so I have now remained with the bank.

Only reason for loss of star was that I had to telephone sometime after 10 June for detailsof new account. A singular imperfection which, I suggest, you remedy for future similar occasions. Otherwise the service (including phone calls) was excellent.

Two things bothered me about the application for a fixed term bond:
The initial account information suggested that you could only make one payment into the account at the time you opened it. This could be a severe restriction. It wasn't made clear that you can make as many payments as you like within the first 14 days, unless you go digging into the help pages.
The second problem was that the security questions where the answer could be two or more words, but the web site limitations do not accept spaces in the answer. This caused quite a bit of confusion and trouble. It is a technical short coming and should be fixed or better handled during the application process.
Since the application was accepted the experience has been good, with excellent communication.
