I was excited when Groupon offered a deal for photo scanning services. I had wanted to scan some of my film photos for some time, but was wary of sending it to out-of-the-USA photo scanning services recommended by friends. The fact that I could send my pictures to the same state made me feel better. After sending in two orders, the CEO sent an email (probably some form email) that posed these questions (I've included my answers): - How likely you are to use our service again? Maybe. I scanned most of the pictures that I want electronic files of, but if I happen to sift through my parents photo albums, I may use your service again. - Would you recommend our service to your friends and family members? Why or why not? I would recommend the service to people. Many of the photo scanning services used to be outside of the country, and that was scary for many of my friends. I've already recommended the service to several people. - Do you have any feedback on our pricing options? Were they straight forward and easy to understand? The pricing was confusing and isn't easily understandable from the website. I had to call and get clarification regarding some points. My only complaints are (1) the backlog and time for processing, and (2) when I received my return order, my pictures were returned in the order I sent them (as I requested), however, they were not packaged in a careful manner. Many of my pictures came back to me bent, which was disappointing. The saving grace for the bent photos is I now have them in digital form so I can reprint a new copy.

I sent in a bunch of mixed media for my Dad's retirement party and used the "Memory Box" option that cost around $300. I was able to get a bunch of film reels, videos and old slides done for a flat rate of what fit in the box, i saved a lot over the a la carte pricing options when I did the math. The order took a little over a month but that was shipping back and forth to New York, I think they had it for around 3 weeks or so. I got everything onto a hard drive I sent in and was able to edit everything together into a 10 minute movie I did for the party. Everyone loved it, the film was even 720p (I chose the higher option) and I have since copied all the family stuff for my siblings. Seems like my experience differed but most reviews on here have some sort of groupon issue which I am unfamiliar with, I thought the process was pretty straightforward and easy. I would recommend Scan Digital for ease of use and keeping my families materials safe.

The service was quick but not real thrilled with an additional $19.95 charge stating that one VHS was too long to fit so they used 2 cd??? Also were 2 shipping charges for an additional $9.95 EACH Really ? I had to to pay shipping to and from? Never heard of a company that does not ship their items themselves.......not so sure about this, so my $29.00 Groupon turned into $59.00 deal. quite a difference for me .

You guys are AMAZING!!! I am so glad I found your service. I just wanted to let you all know how happy I am with my photo disc. The digital images look so clean and I can finally get rid of these bulky photo albums. I cannot thank you guys enough, but I will recommend you to all my friends and family!! My video tapes are next!! :)

What a terribly run company!! Extremely expensive and slow. It took soooo many months to get my order processed. I had to call several times just to get them to do anything. Then I got my order and it was wrong. I had to send everything back and have them do it again. Many months and phone calls later, I get my order again. And one of my VHS tapes was damaged beyond repair. I called to complain but no one cared. Horrible, horrible, horrible company. Go anywhere else.

Do not use this service. Waited a long time to have my order come back incorrect (same 2 hours of video recorded over and over on 2 discs - 4 hours never copied), and I was over charged. The customer service rep initially tried to tell me what happened was impossible. Told me I could get a refund, then the next email said no refund. I agreed to have them redo it, since they would not offer a refund, and that took forever again, with no correspondence about the status of my redo. Redo quality was bad....skipping video that was not happening on original VHS. Had to email them in detail about the overcharge, and email them 3 times to get an response. They finally admitted to overcharging me (which I told them at the start of this episode) and and refunded me. They pretended to be customer service oriented, but there is NO quality control or satisfaction guaranteed as stated all over their website. DO NOT USE!

Either scan them at home or take your photos to Kodak kiosk. You can enhance your photos with the most basic photo editor. They claimed to: Summary Step 1: Place Your Order No need to count or sort. Generate a UPS Label from our site. Ship your materials and track everything using our Essential Tracker. Step 2: We Scan & Review We provide the highest quality. We crop, rotate and color correct all images. We remove dust and minor blemishes. Step 3: We Return Your Originals & a Digital Copy You receive a lifetime of memories on an external USB Drive preserved forever. ALL INCORRECT. MY REVIEW TO THEM: I, most likely, will not recommend your services to anyone as your claims, "HOW IT WORKS", is utter nonsense. The digital photos included on my thumb drives looked identical to the original photos. My understanding was you would clean, correct and modify any blemishes. What you did...I could have done. And, in fact, I have already corrected blemishes, scratches, colors and clarity on most of the photos. I had such good hopes of your abilities and ethics (as described in, How it works). Your shipping practices are accurate. BELOW IS MY RESPONSE TO THEIR FINAL REPLY: There was no customer service response other than to say 'we will do better on your next order'. Seriously? I wasted every bit of money paid to you. I could have scanned them myself and performed better optimization. Consumers, please save your money.

I was very impressed with the service from scandigital. they kept me informed of the progress by email and at my request held the DVDS, until I had returned from my holiday.am really enjoying the DVDS---much better than VHS tapes!!!m

I sent them my VHS tapes to convert (using a groupon deal) and they charged $160 more WITHOUT my consent. (Had my credit card on file). When I called they were extremely rude. Still waiting for a manager and I'm out $160!! And the quality of the DVDs was TERRIBLE !

They received my tapes and did nothing for more than 2 weeks. When I questioned customer service about it, I got some nonsense about how they had to secure (?) my tapes. When I complained about the fact that they were taking too long to even process my tapes, the response was to say "we clearly state it could take so many (don't remember the number) of weeks to process your order'. Well, it's the LAST time ScanDigital gets any business from me. And for all the time they took, the finished product was NOTHING special. Next time I'll use Southtree!

after purchasing groupon for $250 worth of services I sent in my film reels about 15 total....6 weeks later i get billed for $400 on my credit card...totally unacceptable....They never once gave me an estimate or let me know that the groupon would not cover the full cost...BUT HAD TIME TO EMAIL ME WITH MORE COUPON OFFERS...TOTAL RIP-OFF....I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN....

I spent $700 to get my films and pictures on a DVD and it looks terrible. I called and they refuse to do anything to fix it. I didn't even get my pictures on a DVD which of course they said they would send to me. They didn't fix any of the old films to look better so the pictures probably look awful too. They are terrible with customer service and don't care to help you out in any way. They got their money and don't care. And to top it off it took over 4 months to get the stupid, worthless DVD. Worthless Company!

Similar to other reviewers, using a Groupon I sent in super 8 movie films with sound, and got a response fairly quickly that they were received and in the queue, but then waited and waited. After 6 weeks I inquired about the status and almost immediately was charged another $40! The return shipping box that I thought was $10 was actually $20 - I could've used USPS Priority for much less, and and they said I sent in more feet of film than I thought. I went by the indicator on the reel, so perhaps it was not accurate. When I finally got the movies back, they had not included the sound - they were silent movies and the quality was only okay. I emailed to ask about the sound, and they informed me I had not sent them sound movies because if I had there would've been a magnetic sound strip on the edge. Of course, they had overlooked that my films had a magnetic sound strip, so I had to return them for a re-do. I'm still waiting. Last time I inquired they were still being reviewed. I'm just hoping to receive my films back and I will not use the company again.

I bought a Groupon which was to allow me $100 toward scanning old slides. I thought the price was $.68 per slide so I mailed 150 slides. Imagine my shock to discover they charged my credit card for 150 "stereo slides & 126 negatives" at $1.58 each. I went by the prices on their first page and didn't realize they called my slides 2.25 (same format as 35mm). I still had red-eye and the focus wasn't that clear. The best adjustment offer they can give me is 30% off $237. I am not happy.

After 2 months, very poor customer service (repeatedly delays and deadlines not met, and THEY never called or emailed: I had to call after the promised ship dates and discover "gee, not sure what happened, or why you weren't called" after which NOBODY FOLLOWS UP! Still waiting for my order, so I don't know about the quality. Unlikely I'll use them again - can't recommend. Not a good experience.

I simply cannot believe how SLOW these people are!!! I sent in a negative strip with 3 exposures on it back in 2/15 it was received, real simple order, scan, send me a CD, that's it and here I am 3/15- FOUR WEEKS later and the progress on this has gotten only to the FIRST quality check! I've emailed them twice asking WHEN this will be completed because a client ordered a copy licensed for their in-house project and paid me for it back in FEBRUARY, and they have been asking about this several times now. I'm looking now at having to refund their money because this has taken so damn long it's beyond ridiculous. Both time they replied to my email they said they were extremely backlogged with orders from JANUARY! My advice is find someone else, I'm not sending these people the 8mm films and other stuff I WAS going to.

I used a groupon and they make you put in a credit card number for "shipping" but they keep charging you more and more and there is nothing that you can do about it. You cannot remove your card information and they wont refund you. I placed a block on my card and disputed the charges with my card company. This is a scam and the groupon is worthless and you will end up paying the full amount anyway

I am completely disappointed and utterly frustrated. I sent in 19 mini VHS tapes to be transferred to CDs and an external drive (it took 2 months). What I received were awful. Most had video calibration on them with white noise and couldnt be watched. I sent them back for a re-do. When I received the new CDs and external drive (after yet another 2 months) the white noise and video calibration were gone but the sound kept going out. When the sound WAS on, it wasnt in sync with with the video. Its so frustrating to watch someones lips moving and their voice is somewhere else. I sent in my Groupon receipt and credit card charge receipt and asked for a refund of those charges. I felt another re-do at this point was ridiculous. They sent a reply that theyd look into it. That was over a month ago. So this has been almost SIX months of frustration. I emailed them AGAIN asking what the delay was and received a generic email saying I needed to reopen and reply to the request number. Aaarrggghhh!! I just sent in another email stating my frustration and asked again for the refund. Who knows what kind of response Ill get. So Im resorting to this negative review. I dont like writing them but I feel this one is deserved. Oh, and Im never using Groupon again either. I think the value v/s quality simply isnt worth it.

I've never used an online service for scanning before, but I don't have a slide scanner, so... It was ok. Service was a little slow, but probably better now that the Groupon avalanche seems to have passed. I have two complaints, one, that the scans at their regular resolution are pretty small for this day and age when cameras regularly bost 12 Mp or more; and second, their website was so incredibly slow, even on a fairly modern MacBook, that it was almost unusable. It made checking on order status and downloading files from the online gallery almost impossible. For a business that is based in tech, that is inexcusable. They really need to take another look at their business model, because they are not up to speed.

I purchased the Groupon special of $16 for 3 dvd's. Now That I am ready to use them I notice that the promotional value expired on Dec. 8, 2016. So now, they have no value to me, don't bother.
