Slow shipping
2 Orders placed in mid Dec, one finally shipped mid Jan. I was waiting for the second order to call an electrican to get all the items installed.

The ecobee thermostats they sold me do not work correctly. even the vendor is not helpful, blaming my new home or keeps pushing new firmware, which is not helping.
there is over a 5 degree differential in the reading between the thermostat and room temp and my HVAC makes a loud fan noise when running. No issues if i replace the thermostat with a Honeywell or Trane unit.

Smarthome refuses to accept a return without a 25% restocking fee which is not right as the products are defective stating that the items are beyond 30 day (if they had shipped the second order on time, there would not have been an issue).

I ordered a gate alarm with one extra transmitter from the SmartHome USA website. Fortunately, I paid using PayPal so I have hopes of getting my $245 back.

Never received any communications from this so-called company at all... No e-mail confirmation following the online order. No e-mail confirmation of shipping. Nothing!

Finally called the phone number for the company that is listed in my PayPal e-mail receipt. No live person answers. Just a male voice recording saying "leave your name, number and the date and time of your call". That's it. Doesn't even identify it as a business phone.

Completely unprofessional. As total scam, I believe. Still no contact from the company but I have filed a complaint with PayPal requesting a refund.

I would recommend you stay as far away from this "company" (and I use that term very loosely!) as possible.

Ordered a product on Sept 18th. The website said it will ship in 1-2 business days. No shipping information as received as of Sept 25th. Emailed customer service and Tyler informed me that it had not shipped yet and hopefully tomorrow. I guess AMAZON prime ruined my expectations for quick delivery from online vendors. Back to Worthington for me.

I bought a door intercom system online but only received half the package a few days later. I then spent exactly 1 month trying to get the rest of the product. I was told several times that it would be shipped immediately. When it didn't show up, I would call only to find out that it had not yet been shipped. I finally cancelled the order after a month and was assured by "customer service" that I would get a full refund including shipping. So far, that hasn't happened.
I will never buy another product from SmarthomeUSA.com. This company is in no way affiliated with Smarthome.com. However, I think having a similar name allows them a free ride on the good reputation and service offered by Smarthome.com. Just my humble opinion.

UPDATE- Well it has been 7 weeks and I still haven't received my refund of $205.00 from SmarthomeUSA. I finally did order the part from a different company and it's been installed and working for about 2 weeks, now. If something doesn't change pretty soon, I'll have to resort to small claims court to get my money back.

I placed an order, and the charge appeared promptly on my credit card, including an international transfer fee - thought they were in the USA? I got no confirmation, and no response to the message sent via the web site, other than a computer generated one. They don't answer the phone during posted business hours. I suspect the positive reviews are fake, as I would like to subtract more stars from this one. I'm contacting my credit card company tomorrow to return the funds if I receive no response to my voice mail and follow up message via the web site. Should have ordered through Amazon.

I ordered some parts for a structured wiring setup on 2-26-07. Ground shipping was a reasonable $11.95 based on the dollar amount of the order. The order was filled on 3-1-07 and I received it within a few days. The items were as described on the website.

I would shop here again.

I have sent this company 3 3 mails requesting simple information and also left them a voicemail message with my phone number asking them to call me. They have not responded to any of these communications.

I ordered from SmartHome USA because their price were the cheapest and also because they deliver in Canada. Unfortunately one of the item was 7-10 days out from their supplier and I could'nt wait so I ask for a refund. It was done the next day. Great service! I would'nt hesitate to order from this store next time I need some part for my z-wave network.

I ordered a smart strip a couple of weeks ago. The initial response when I made the order was something like an email confirmation would be made to me very soon showing that I had made the order. I never received an email confirm. Today for the 3rd time I called the company. Each time I called it was after 9AM (EDT). Each time I never got to speak to a person. I had to leave a message for a return call from the company. Needless to say I've not received a call from the company.

Today I called to cancel the order. Hopefully my order will be cancelled.

If there was a zero star choice for leaving a review I would have used it.
