I signed up to ultimate you in Cheltenham as I had seen the ad on facebook, and thought getting it for free is wonderful as I had just lost my job and it was for 6 weeks to which the timing was really great as I had a couple of large charity bike rides to do, but the ad is misleading as you do have to pay money up front which is all the Ultimate You centers, but If you didn't give some sort of commitment like this then you would fail. Its just really a carrot to entice you in.
Looking at the contract it looked like the hardest part of the challenge was going to get my money back as there are conditions that have to be adhered to. I did manage to lose 11 kgs in my challenge and yes I am pleased to say that just over a 30 days past my final post interview I received my money. This is in the contract a minimum 30 days after the challenge you then have to wait for refund.
There were other parts of the contract that I wasn't happy with, as I thought it went abit far, but if you want a refund then you do what it says, its that simple.
I do feel sorry that other people have had issues with getting refunds, but I must say that Cheltenham were good in that regard. I also think that there were most probably missed opportunities for them to try to sell the other programs after the 9in6, but I was happy that they weren't too pushy otherwise it would have made me not want to come in and train.
During my journey I was never pressured to sign up to other programs, I was asked about what my future goals and plan was, even though I said about halfway through I wasn't looking at doing another program I wasn't treated like a leper or ignored, I still felt welcome and part of the program. I did feel bad about asking for my money back as they had put time in training me and getting me back on track with my nutrition, But it is ultimate you's business plan. I think with what they charge there is allot of wiggle room for a few people to get refunds as it is, I do feel it is expensive.
When I first started most people were quite worried about getting their money back, like me, so its great motivation to put in the work. The exercises are mostly body weight and there is some equipment used. but really body weight exercises were the best for everyone to start with. At the end of the six weeks, I nearly would have run out of kettlebells to use as I got allot stronger. The sessions were mixed up abit, so you shouldn't really get bored with them. I have arthritis on both my knees and they accommodated me with different exercises. It is good to start out as a group of people going through a journey together in losing the weight as you do support each other.
Would I go back to Ultimate You in Cheltenham?, no, as I've lost the weight and have been losing more weight since, so I dont have to go back.
But If I put on heaps of weight again and wanted to kick myself up the bum to get healthy and fit again yes I would.
In the 6 weeks I was there my resting pulse went from 60 to 50 BPM resting heart rate and my thyroid medication went from 250 to 150 mcg.
Its a great program to get your health and fitness back in check, it is a big commitment for 6 weeks, but its thoroughly worth it, the main thing is with what ever you do is keep the journey going afterwards

My partner and I signed up to UY 9in6 program to shed a few extra kilos we both had put on over Winter (SEPT 18). We both dedicated ourselves to the program and both lost the 9 KG successfully.

Not only have we STILLLL not received our money back - our metabolism is absolutely wrecked from pushing our bodies to loose too much weight too quickly and have now put it all back on + MORE weight.

This 9in6 program is not only a scam, but it is dangerous for physical and mental health.

I absolutely LOVE training at Ultimate You (Richmond). I completed my 9in6 (but I didn't hit a 9kg loss), and I'm now in the next program. I felt I got value for money in paying the fee for the 9in6 program, so if your only motivation is to do it for free, you need more than that to get through it! This is not just a gym, it's a whole lifestyle change. It's not a program designed to have you come in for 6 weeks and then walk away - of course they want you to stick around, because it's not a quick fix, it's the beginning of a new lifestyle. It has been for me. I haven't looked back since day one, such a supportive environment to learn and smash my goals. But your "why" needs to be deeper than just money.

5 MONTHS ago now I successfully completed my 9 in 6 at the Tullamarine centre, finishing up having lost a total of 10kg!!! I followed everything on my contract and ensured I stayed on track.

After nearly being bought to TEARS by the pushy, abrupt and extremely rude manager of this gym for not wanting to continue on to another challenge in such a disgusting environment, I was told to fill out an exit form.

May I add it took me 3 weeks to even get a response on how to proceed with the refund process only to figure out now MONTHS later that they were never planning on giving it back. I have called and called, left messages & emails and no one has the decency to get back to me.
I began this challenge excited and ready to continue on in the future however what is CLEARLY stated in the contract is not true as you do not receive your money back & no one responds to you.

At this point my only option will be to pursue legal action, along with the others from this gym who are yet to receive ANY response aswell. I have tried to make contact but if NO ONE is even able to give me a refund, I will have to resort to this which is so disappointing and DISGUSTING given the contract clearly outlines that you WILL upon successful completion.

October 29th 2019 Update: Nothing short of a scam

Dont bother if you actually expect any money back upon successful completion. Also, may I add the service and communication was horrible especially from the Tullamarine manager. She tried to intimidate me and make me sign up to a membership after the challenge. I have never felt so uncomfortable. Thought it was a follow up session that would run me through the refund process but ended up having her ask me how I would plan on keeping the weight off if I didnt sign up. I told her I would commit to some home workouts to which she laughed and said well looks like youll probably pile the weight back on in that case. She was rude and did everything in her power as a manger to make you feel intimidated and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this program, gym or anything. Ive been following up my refund for 4 months now and have had to go down with a legal dispute now which has been a waste of valuable time for me. I know what I signed and I know that money should be straight back into my account as quickly as that manipulative manager was able to take it from there.

As a 53 year female I’ve always considered myself as fairly fit and healthy. I was particularly interested in doing the challenge to take my exercise to a new level, to tone my body and learn more about nutrition and develop an athletes mindset of commitment and stamina.
The Bikini Challenge was an incredible journey over 6 weeks plus.

Not only did I reach my highest level of fitness ever, I now have so much more energy than I had before. All my life I have never been a morning person and now I spring out of bed at 6am every morning ready to seize the day. I was amazed at the transformation and motivation within me and learnt so much about myself and what I am capable of.

Being surrounded by supportive, knowledgeable, friendly trainers and members was phenomenal. The UY Gym was my 2nd home and was always someone at hand to keep me motivated and on track.

My heartfelt thanks to Awesome Andrea and Andy and the UY Trainers for such an Amazing experience!

If I had any idea how life changing these 6 weeks would have been- I would have done it much sooner! I signed up for the 9in6 program and have not only become nearly 10kg lighter, I have more energy, confidence, better posture, improved mindset and mood! If you’re looking for a sign to bite the bullet and follow a tailored lifestyle and exercise plan look no further! The only regret you’ll have is not doing it sooner!

I signed up to a 9in6 challenge in March 18 at the Geelong gym. You start by going to an info session where you are required to sign a “contract” and pay $499 upfront which is refunded if you lose the 9kg in the 6 week challenge. You are not allowed to take the contract home to read and are really pressured to sign up. The contract also states that you have to change your profile photo to the 9in6 logo for the duration of your challenge and also check in at the gym every session you complete (minimum 5 per week). This didn’t sit well with me and I told the trainers I didn’t want to spam my friends and family with workout posts and was belittled by saying “why wouldn’t you want your friends to know you are working out, do you think they would laugh ah you”. Sadly I’m not good at pressure so signed up for the challenge which was a big mistake.
The first day of the challenge is a weigh in and photos. Come first day of the challenge, I still didn’t have access to the portal or my individual meal plan / protein requirements. I asked the blonde lady (who’s name has now escaped me) how much protein I should be eating per meal, how many times a day, what else can I eat? She gave me a very vague indication by showing the palm of her hand and brushed me off to go and chat to some other challengers.
The next morning I completed my first and only session at the gym with [name removed] the trainer, which was I found was challenging, supportive and even a little fun. After my session I approached [name removed], the manager, about not having access to the portal and also having no idea what I should be eating. I found him very arrogant and dismissive and he told me he had escalated it and sent me on my way still with no idea what I was doing.
When a challenge involves losing bulk weight in a small time frame every day counts.
I never went back again after this.
I wish I pursued my money back at the time but never had the confidence to.

I did so many research before entering the 9and6 and I was initially bit skeptical about many bad reviews on this site. However I took a phone call to the place and had a chat with the staff which cleared many doubts. Then I decided that I have to start somewhere. Being nearly 100kgs and taking cholesterol medicines, I can't be staying back without taking a step. So despite of all negativities I took my first step and got enrolled. That's it. My body started to transform, my food and also the way I think and the positivity around me. I'm still going there and I'm very happy about that. Guys dont stay back just take that first step coz only you can change yourself.

I have enrolled into Ultimate you south Melbourne mid last year 2019 and signed up for there weight loose challenge. I paid a deposit of 500$ as upfront fee and they promised to return the amount after I successfully complete the challenge.

There were few conditions as we have to check-in in Facebook every day and update our FB DP with ultimate you logo and etc.. which I did along with losing weight and on end day I successfully achieve my goal. They confirmed that I will be receiving my money back in 30 business day.

I assumed that they will be genuine with there client and they will process the refund as they stated in the email, but this never happened and they never picked my call after that and it's going to be one year now. I want to warn everyone that this is a scam. be aware and don't listen to there false promise.
