No Customer support - no call backs no nothing from the day we rang about our breakin - CL Ref: 8312316 - we have run after them.
Guess you never know how good or BAD an insurance company are until you make a claim.
We had to close our holiday rental as can't rent it without appliances etc.
Go elsewhere please and save yourself the hassle with these guys. No call backs, no updates, assessor useless and out of 70 items only 2 were right. We had sent a spreadsheet of everything, doing their job for them and they still go it wrong.
Police arrested and charge thief after finger print come back, court to deal with him. SO can't understand why the WFI haven't dealt with this.

Month later still waiting, have everything they need two weeks ago still no payout. Everytime we ring you say only have to sign the paperwork, don't take two weeks to sign a piece of paper. Think will changed insurance campany any other insurance all done in two weeks not wfi not happy why is it taking so long. You take our money straight away but you take forever to pay.

I spoke to a gentlemen called [Name removed] on 25/08/15 at 4.45 re my car insurance. very bad customer service. I can't believe a person with such a bad attitude work in WFI. He didn't let me finish talking and he was keep cutting me off and raised his voice to me. I asked to talked to his manager but did not transfer me to a manager. That's about the customer service. I have 3 insurance with them, I'm cancelling them all now.

We have been with WFI for more than 30 years, put a claim in recently for a broken window. They asked for more details so we sent them more details. We heard nothing back so sent an email asking what was happening, never heard back so sent another email, never heard back so today have sent yet another email. Nearly a month since we first contacted them and simply want a reply to our emails or some sort of acknowledgement that we exist. Used to think they were a great company, absolutely the opposite now.

Update: Finally heard back from them and they accepted the claim, but with our new policy they put the excess up to $500, no way of reducing, so basically in future, we are not able to claim for anything other than a major disaster. 1 claim in ten years after paying an average of $1500 for the policy every year and we get one claim for a window that costs $300 to repair and we have to pay out $200 excess so wow we got back $100 on our claim......what a rip off. But if we didn't have insurance, with my luck the house would burn down....so stuck.

I had a bit of an accident today and thought I would google my insurer, WFI. I honestly couldn't believe the crap reviews that are on line. I have been with WFI for about 25 years and being a bit of a Wally have made a number of claims. In every instance whether it be my kids having a stack,my market umbrella getting demolished in a storm , my mother in laws house same as previous WFI have been prompt with payment and always happy to help.

I have recently had a hose fire and whilst WFI have been good to deal with there nominated builder JP Flynn are hopeless. We are now almost 6 months down the track of JP Flynn renovating. They have only done about 10 days work. Do not let this company near your site.

Nice initially, crap when the claim went in, claim went in 2 days after taking out policy wasn’t excepted due to cooling off period, what happened to cover notes! Corruption is common place

Very slow to respond (i.e. did not make any contact with me at all for two weeks after a claim was lodged in which my car was a total loss (I was the third party, and my car was totalled while stationary by the WFI policy holder)). Advised me they were unable to take action as excess hadn't been paid ... as the policy holder had seemed very reasonable to me, I called him directly _and was advised he had paid the excess three days previously!_ he even gave me to receipt/invoice number.
No loan car was arranged, despite repeated promises (three times!) to do so.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they're not much better than criminals.

Were with WFI for years and received good service and the property claims after storms were handled well. My wife (Policy owner) had a car accident that saw her in intensive care. WFI threw us to the wolves (IAG) to settle the claim. Result was claim knocked back as Wife (Policy owner) should have made the initial call to WFI, and not me as her husband (Policy co-signer). Set aside the fact that she was in intensive care and I was a co-signer to the policy, they didn't care. Two months of emails, phone calls, threats and intimidation finally secured the required payout. WFI Consultant finally came back from "business trips" and apologised but damage done. Will never go back to WFI and will not do business with any company listed under the IAG umbrella of businesses at www.iag.com.au at the bottom of the page.
Treated loyal, long term customers like utter dirt.

I have dealt with numerous insurance companies in my 65 years .WFI is by far the worst company that I have dealt with in relation to paying out on claims . They are slow and will do everything possible to avoid paying out .
I had a situation where some eaves were damaged during a storm
They sent out a building company and a private assessor plus numerous phone calls and emails to avoid paying out .They rejected the claim .
I had the repair done for $374 .
I must ask is it really worth losing a 7 year customer for $274 ( i have a $100 excess ) I am sure that the building company and assessor did not call out for free .
This is the second time that they have rejected a claim that has happened during a storm .
I will not be renewing with WFI

My Mum and Dad have been insured with Wesfarmers for years....and have previously never had issues with claims.

I recently moved into a new home and decided to insure my contents and car with WFI.

My parents insurance broker was amazing and gave me a good price and reasonable excesses for my age.

I don't understand why so many negative reviews on this site. Never had a problem w WFI.

I joined Wesfarmers when i was just 17 & bought my first car. I am 46 now. I have been more than happy with there service this whole period. I cannot understand the poor reviews. It might be peoples approach & the need to be familiar with what there Policy covers them for as there are a few to choose from when you join. Read the Policy book they send you. Over the years I have had a car stolen, a freezer breakdown & all food rotted/summer storm power loss while away on holidays, a fridge breakdown & food rotted while away again at Christmas time 12 years later, a washing machine overflowed thru 3/4 of my house while i was out for the day & flooded the house, storm damage & i have been very happy with each process. Whilst i am always anxious awaiting there response to my claim & in a couple of cases it dragged on for weeks & the flooded house was approx 3 months b4 the claim was final.... but i have always been happy with the 'ease of service' & communication was only a phone call away & i was looked after.

After 8 weeks and two reports declined claim-still waiting for offical report - we only claim because the first mechanic told us it was claimable but second mechanic said it wasn’t?? Obviously keep taking to different places until they get their outcome.

I have insured with WFI for 50 years paying a premiums around 30000 per year I have been robbed and doors to my shed have been damaged my claim is for 15 grand. I have been waiting for 9 months to get my account settled. I will be employing a lawyer to get my claim settled. It seems they are going broke I smell smoke.

Had our service station sign board hit by a car unfortunately for us was insured with wfi it’s been 11 months and they haven’t got the facts right. No one knows what is happening. I am amazed at the level of stupidity and ignorance I had to deal with

Had numerous policies over period of 15 years for various property, vehicles, personal accident and have gradually reduced down to 0 as they were not competitive
Policy increases every year with no logical reason, no reward for multiple policies.
Received heartless letter rejecting cover for one policy because of valid claim history and cancelled our policy.
Clearly a money making exercise and were treated like just a number.
Glad to be done with them.

I was on the phone for two and a half hours to get landlord insurance and owner occupied insurance. Today I found out there was no landlord insurance in place. I also raised a complaint on a previous issue. Its passed 7 business days still didn't receive a call from the. The overseas (Philippines) customer service representatives have condescending and patronizing tone. One doesn't know what the other one spoke about. No previous notes. They place me on hold to check on something, and the call goes back to main menu and I always have to call back. This happened four times so far. Terrible, unprofessional customer service.
