Really poor customer service, got my loan arranged by one staff member that seemed decent and then my Guarantor(my mother) was called by another staff member to confirm details and they said my mother had poor english and that she couldnt understand the language, which resulted in the loan denied.. dont recommend this to anyone, really bad experience, staff does not want to help at all. although my mother was understanding everything she just had little trouble speaking out she even confirmed she understood everything.

Come on answer the question FCA has clearly stated we customer's are entitled to a 3 months holiday payment. Why aren't you giving your customers this option you are breaking the law simple as

So I have really been struggling with my mental health for the past few months.
I got a friend to speak to Amigo loans back in October for me and he managed to set up a long term payment plan as I was struggling with my payments due to being off sick. They were absolutely amazing with him.
Unfortunately he passed away a few weeks ago from COVID-19. I missed last months payment as he would usually make the payments for me and I would just pay him. I phoned them this morning to explain the circumstances and I must say the woman on the phone was absolutely amazing.
She asked me how I was feeling and all sorts and made me feel so comfortable. I don’t handle phone calls very well hence the reason a friend was dealing with everything for me.
I can honestly say I didn’t expect it to go that well as I was really nervous but I cannot thank her enough!! I feel so much better after the phone call about the money situation.
She knows everything I have written about above so if somehow this could get back to her I would really appreciate that, she should be given the appreciation she deserves. She was so genuine and asked me how I was feeling and if I was okay. I know that’s not her job role however she went above and beyond. It was really really appreciated.

I can’t remember her name, the beginning of the conversation went so quick as I was so nervous, but I soon calmed down once I realised I had nothing to be nervous about.

This is my second review of Amigo Loans & my impression of them has not got any better - I have put a complaint into them which they gave an 8 week deadline & what do you know another 4 weeks to wait !! They stated it was due to the recent events that it may take longer but it hasn't stopped their demands through text messages & email for payments or the threats to take me to court for payments (PS I Am the guarantor) I gave them an Income & expenditure of my incomings & outgoings and clearly stated I couldn't afford to pay them anymore and to talk to the person who took the loan out who can clearly pay but wishes not to do so. They are unsympathetic and I wish I had never became a guarantor for my friend.. Deal with this company at your own risk !!!!!!!

Very very poor complaint handling 21 weeks in to my complaint and no final response! Spoke to complaints team last week to be told my complaint had been reviewed and to expect an outcome by the end of this week! Emailed yesterday for an update and today I received an email to say my complaint has not been investigated yet!!!! fail to respond to the financial ombudsman! This is the worse company I’ve ever had to deal with. You cannot blame COVID19 as you already had the full 12 weeks to resolve my complaint before lockdown. I would also like to make people aware that amigo state they deal with complaints in chronological order this is not the case as I’ve read on other website people have had their final responses to their complaints even though their complaints went in after mine! Very unfair and they have no clue how to respond to complaints.

Disappointed my guarantor have God score in his card as they rejected they don't have experience with costumer send 1000 emails with non result all is defended by covid, I'm key worker my guarantor aswell just them don't ask for more info ,how they know about guarantor if them didn't ask about his work about to check credit score only they send mail to make a job easy answer an automatically..

I do not agree with amigo loans interest rate , I am regretting it now, I took a loan of £5000, I didn't actually realise the interest would be this high, I've paid £2561 but it has only gone down by 200 or so pounds. I will advise everyone to stay away from Amigo loans. My biggest regret.

If your at 8 week mark with your complaint an legitimate have a genuine case and you still haven’t got a response it’s because amigos are stalling they will ask you for extra time etc etc but they will still not have your response the fos have a 3 week back log so if your waiting from amigos don’t aslong as they are refusing to give you a final response you have every right to take it to the fos if you believe that amigos bare not working in your best interest

They are disgusting and have broken my family really bad I warn everyone seeing this message to stay away from this loan company.They lie numerous of times and try make you believe there words I borrowed a 4,750 loan and they are telling me now in the next 2 years I owe them 11,000 they have broken me and my family

I have held an amigo loan for one year and I have never been able to access my account online, as soon as I apply I receive confirmation that I will receive a text which always arrives late and out of time, so totally useless.

Put complaint in back in January before Covid-19 the 8 weeks came up and I got an email to say they required an extra 4 weeks! So I thought Okay i'll allow it, so far still no reply to my complaint instead they threaten my guarantor that they would affect there DBS and employment nothing but BULLIES!!

It has affected my health and caused issues within my family has member is guarantor and now my family will not speak with me mainly because of the threat they received.

I've raised my complaint with the Financial Services Organisation (FSO) has amigo just come back with the standard reply to complaints. Having even doing a income and outgoing statement with them they have said "I can't afford the loan" funny how when I taken the loans out I was on the same income but they said I could afford it at the time.

AVOID!!!!! Go see a credit union instead has they will make sure you are never in hardship and will work with you.

I am fast approaching 10 weeks into my ongoing affordability complaint & SAR and I am still receive any information.

At this current time I have escalated the issue to the financial ombudsman and also reported you for a SAR failure breach and my case is also being chased by a 3rd party claims team Redbridge Finance.

My next steps will be to raise my issues with your company to my local MSP Alex Cole-Hamilton and if required any interested parties within the regional or national media outlets.

I have mentioned the impact that this lack of communication or acknowledgment is having on my mental health in previous communications and look to do so again today to try and spark some sort of human response from your company.

It is frankly abhorrent how badly you are treating people.

Complaint raised on 6th March with no final response only a confirmation(after checking they had got the complaint 9 weeks later). Amigo announced that they will be clearing the complaints back log by end of June with the assistance of the FCA. It would be good Customer service if this was confirmed to anyone with an active complaint??

My loan was settled on the 28th February 2020 and is currently still on all credit reports as active.
I have emailed Amigo twice, who confirmed information will sent to confirm settlement on the 16th April. Well it's been nearly two months now and nothing.
Why at nearly 4 months AFTER settling my account should the loan be incorrectly logged as active. This is incorrectly having a negative impact on my credit file showing high credit utilisation!! Please remove

I put in an affordabilty complaint 15 weeks and 5 days ago. I had an email 14th feb saying they needed an extra 4 weeks as it was a detailed case although i had provided them with all evidence they asked for to back my complaint!? I have emailed several times and still no reply!
Also for over a year i have been trying to change my repayment dates to no avail. They say we will change it and don't! Meaning my repayment is always 2 weeks late! I have NEVER missed a single repayment yet i owe more and more money as each payment is made. I point it out ti them they just say were sorry we told you we would change date but haven't we will do it next month because it's too late to do it this month. And interest rates are capped! Capped at what because i've been paying every month. Infact i've already paid more than double what i originally borrowed and haven't missed a payment! It still hasn't happened! Oh yeah and before they started apologising and actually acknowledged they had lied they were saying they couldn't speak via email only phone. I told them i have severe anxiety and as previous phone calls had left me in a state i would prefer email contact. They started getting at my guarantor asking for payments!! This month they have messaged her saying they tried to change payment date but i wouldn't do it! LIES! I can't keep calm about this company. They need investigating because i swear the way they do buisness is probably illegal! So they won't change repayment dates meaning the total i owe will only ever go up! And they don't answer complaints just tell you to go to the ombudsman!

Just thought i would update....
After amigo replied on here i recieved an email basically telling me to shut up putting it on here! They will answer or go to the ombussman. No timescale given! They're answer to the repayment date change was they WILL NOT do it. Just make an extra payment! And as for the no date change because it's already been changed 5 times i have listened to my disc and in two calls with them i said i get paid different dates every month to which they replied ot's ok you CAN just change the date! No mention of only been able to do this 5 times.
And as for the complaint itself i still haven't had a reply. It will be 20weeks on friday since i made the complaint!
For a company who's supposed to be regulated is this actually acceptable behaviour?

After 12 weeks of waiting for a complaint for unaffordable lending was put in I am absolutely disgusted at the way Amigo Loans handle their complaints process. I have tried numerous times to bring to their attention that the claimant is critically ill in hospital Amigo simply do not want to know! Keep getting the same generic response of “it hasn’t been looked at yet and we don’t know when it will be”

Even after getting the Financial Ombudsman involved they are still ignoring their requests to co-operate and send the case file over to them!

Thankfully a national newspaper has decided to take on the story given the severity of the situation.

!!!ABSOLUTELY AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

was given a payment holiday until 16th june 2020 due to a drop of earnings caused by the covid 19 pandemic which was agreed on by all parties and i have evidence of this.
since this agreement was made they have been sending my guarantor threatening letters whilst his wife is in hospital dieing causing him unnecessary distress at an awful time, there was already an arrangement made, absolutely disgusting behaviour
they also sent me a default notice, how can you send a default notice when there was a agreement made?

I have opened a complaint in February 2020 on behalf of 2 vulnerable adults who didn’t have the affordability means to pay the loan or the capacity to understand the implications of taking out this loan, due to an acute mental health illness. I have sent medical records etc, I have had very little response from Amigo Loans (the odd email saying due to COVID thing are taking longer than they should), 3.5 months later the issue is not resolved & they have failed to comply with my requests for info such as vulnerable persons policy, I also have requested a “Subject Access Request”, Amigo Loans should not be allowed to operate in this way, it is very distressing that they can continue & their operational methods are questionable to say the least, I am in touch with the Financial Ombudsman also, please BEWARE.

I submitted a complaint 13 weeks ago well before coronovirus and im still waiting for a final response, I feel they are using the pandemic as a delay tactic or for terrible customer service. They have still got time to ruin people's lives though by reading the rest of the reviews.

I made a complaint to them on 12th of May regarding the loans I took starting 7500 with hight interest and after 6 months I took a top up to breath a bit and I reach the amount of 10.000 with payback 23000 nearly and paid off early in 2019 with amount 10.200.. basically in 2 years I paid almost 20.000 !! Shark ..:I’m waiting the final respond from them due I ask all the interest be paid back to me plus 8% .the loan as been paid off.. all my bank statement are ready for the FOA if I’m not going to see any email from them with final response
