Customer service is very sloppy ,It is rare to have any request resolved on first or second contact
Every time you contact them have to explain the same thing over and over
I have been a customer for years but will not renew again, this is because of the customer service with regard to payments I cant imagine what it must be like to make a claim ,They are just tedious to deal with
I have even taken out a small policy with another company to cover legal costs if they get uppity if we have to claim
There are better companies to deal with

They go above and beyond with costumer service.

I have a claim with AMP for what is now 41 months while still paying the fees to keep the policy alive and as much as the claim is ligitament and has been done through a lawyer and all the policy conditions have been met, AMP still refuse to admite the claim.
The matter is now before FOS for determination.
It took AMP 27 months and the threat to take the matter to FOS before AMP finally provided a reason not to admit the claim after providing so much information requested that was unrelated to their reason for not admitting the claim.
I blame our government for not providing adequate consumer protection in this area, in fact there is none at all.
I look forward providing the FOS determination.

I'm a happy customer of North AMP for 4 years now.

Originally a third party adviser helped me start the account and I was sure to read the fine print as there was an option to be charged per transaction (not ongoing) so I chose this. All happy days until he left his position and handed his portfolio on to another adviser who did not respect my original agreement and just began charging me ongoing (without even ever corresponding with the guy) I cottoned on to the charges soon myself and after 3 months.. all that was required was a letter to the Super team at North Super declining the adviser any access to my account (this was advised by the North Super Team - they were great!!) so I did this and also wrote a letter to the adviser telling him what I thought about him (steam out my nostrils) and since then I've been happy as Larry with no rogue adviser fees and enjoying the flexible investment options and user friendly online platform North provide; ever since. Just do it all myself its great!

It's the third party advisers that are the problem from what I read..

As for those who are commenting on the trouble they have had getting their money out or trying to roll over... I can't comment as I've not needed or am wanting to do this, so haven't been through the process. All I can say is the Melbourne AMP team have always been awesome and very forthcoming over the phone when I deal with them.

(They also have some income protection/insurances available that other funds like Hostplus do not - which is why I elected to change to them) You just need to make sure you cancel or modify these as your employment ceases or changes - as you don't want charges for something that is not applicable!!)

Take control of your Superannuation Fund TODAY and get out of AMP for a better future. They are dishonest and charge your account for fees just because they can. AMP customers please do yourself justice, study your statements and see for yourself. This is your hard earnt money that you will need when you no longer work and AMP are spending it. I transferred my Superannuation account over to a reputable company and seeing it grow in value gives me confidence that I'm heading to a more fruitful tomorrow.

My father moved to AMP about 12 years ago. Since then, a fee of 1k is paid roughly to his advisor every year on top of abour 8k in management fees. Trying to figure out how to remove the advisor as dad is on centrelink so this advisor is earning money for nothing but cannot get a reply on how to remove the advisor. Ridiculous, absolutely horrible. Would leave if we wouldn't lose the life insurance - just trying to figure out how to minimise fees now to salvage what is left after AMP has demolished it.

I am absolutely frustrated, angry and disgusted at the monthly amount of $485 AMP were taking out of the only Superannuation fund I have. I can't afford to make contributions but that didn't worry AMP. Being a mammoth conglomerate they can get away with this type of scam. I now have just over $20k left to retire with which I did plan to do in the next 10 years. I can no longer do that. Thanks AMP I am now living pay to pay and supporting my 2 children. They had me down for 2 x insurance policies I never agreed to and when I contacted them about it, they made me feel like I did the wrong thing by not bringing it to their attention. should they not have detected that they were eating into my money that would eventually dwindle to nothing? I will not be letting this one go.

I left AMP yesterday and transferred to another Superannuation Fund … whilst other funds were returning good returns in the last few years, AMP has consistently swallowed mine up in low returns and high fees. Their website for members is appalling … there is zero transparency on transactions so I cannot see where money has gone in, and where it has come out. I transferred from Sunsuper to AMP so all my husband's and my dealings were under the one umbrella, but have transferred back out again after my putting in large sums as voluntary contributions to prepare for my retirement, and STILL seeing my balance going down, despite my large contributions over the last 2 years and good returns in other funds. AMP you are extremely shonky … your reporting is appalling … even my financial advisors couldn't explain your reporting when queried where they hagot some of their figures from. It's like it's a cover up for all the money you've been fleecing off your investors for years. …… It's now 15 days since the funds were due to be rolled over into my new super fund …… I ring AMP to ask where the money is as Hostplus haven't received it yet. A young "child" answers on the other end with some lame excuse that makes absolutely no sense … he's stuttering and clearly embarrassed that they STILL have not rolled the money over. I'm told it will be another 5 days at least and that the switch hadn't been made until 10 days AFTER they had received notice from Hostplus!! AMP are hanging onto our money to get every last cent they can out of the transaction. Absolute crooks!!! Never EVER deal with them again.

I decided to move my owner occupied and investment loan to the AMP Professional Package 6 months ago due to a better rate. I am now on my 3rd application form after 6 months of providing paperwork to AMP and have lost count of the number of new requests for information from AMP as well as incorrect information from their call centre. They are simply not set up to be a bank and shouldn't be offered home loans.

After not working for 6 months after an illnes decided to look into claiming on my TPD policy which I've had for over 20 years. After numerous phone calls still can't find out what the requirements are or how to apply. Keep getting referrred to the website which says to call and discuss.

very expensive, unhelpful when wanting to claim, wouldn't post PDS when requested

I have been with them for 5 years, the performance was terrible and fees are high. They promised things that I would cost a lot get done.i changed to hostplus and made more money in 4 months than I did in a year with amp

I have gone from your husband's date of birth is incorrect, to we haven't received paperwork to it takes 10 business days to look at that and then another 24-48 hours to do this and now we cannot do anything more to firstms telling me AMP need to esculate the matter. The whole experience is beyond dissappointing and they wondering why they are losing customers left right and centre. Search for someone else trust me. They are a rip off on your super home loan anyway, there are better options.

I have a life insurance policy with AMP for the last 25 years.I have a disability since 2010 and didnt earn any money nor getting any benefits from centrelink because my wife earns $40 a week above thrash hold income.I have a waiver of premium attached to my policy. I have been paying the premium with the help of my son to pay $54 dollars a month since 2010. I strongly believe AMP is very unjust and not doing their job. My dispute is with FOS at the moment and hopefully resolved.

My father in law had a superannuation fund with AMP for 13 years. This is a poor performing fund who gouge your money on undisclosed fees and insurance products.

My father in-law is an Italian immigrant who has worked in low level labour roles since he arrived in Australia in 1950. He is unable to read or write in English and this has cost him his total life savings for superannuation of $50,000.

He has been working as a labourer in the western suburbs of Melbourne at a fruit shop. AMP since he has joined has gouged every single dollar without notification on life insurance product and only was advised he had ZERO funds in his superannuation fund after the fund sent a letter to him a letter advising him that his superannuation balance was too low to cover the insurance aspect of his superannuation (which he didn't even know he had).

He has been paying 2% in 'contribution fees' without ever been advised that he had a financial advisor (who he has Never met or heard of)

Please do not be apart of this super fund they have left my father in law in absolute poverty and gouged every dollar without notification. They will do the same to you.

Been with them for 5 years, sliently paying fee and never asking a question. Tried calling first time yesterday, and the lady on the phone was rude and just in hurry to finish the call. Even gave me wrong information and disconnected. I am back to where I was. No online account access, and having to stay on hold for 20 mins before I get someone back on phone - only to be spoken to rudely again.

I was just searching AMP super scams when i saw this - we too were persuaded to take out a super policy in 1987 by the local rep - we were staggered to find that 90% of the first years contributions were taken in fees and the next year wasn't much better, and then they converted it to a whole of life policy - worthless. Fees never disclosed - virtually all our contributions went to the rep John Daniels.

Inefficient, sloths, day light robbers, bad and poor customer service, slow response for urgent matters, horrible company to trust with your funds, they will find any excuse to not release your funds to other company, I've been dealing more than 3 months to get my funds transferred to another company, they find any excuse, even saying that I have change my name! I have never change my name! They dont know what they are doing, they have passed my case to more than 4 agents and no one is helping! Useless!

I have been with an excellent Financial Planner over 8yrs transferring to AMP from an Industry Fund. My super has grown in leaps, I love the advice, support and learning I get. Worth the fee.

I have now called these guys 3 times since 10 January 2020 to have our cover lowered as it no longer needs to be so high and for some reason no one seems to be able to actually action our requests. They are truly hopeless and an absolute rip off!! We would cancel it altogether if they weren't the only ones that provided my husband with Trauma insurance.

Called twice and wait time for an operator was more than 20 minutes each time. Hung up on first call and tried again following day to wait again for more time. Not efficient at all.
