Having been told that I had a rare type of astigmatism I wanted to make sure that I went to the most highly qualified, experienced and knowledgeable surgeon for cataract surgery. My research led me to Mr David Anderson and the operation ( in both eyes) has been so successful that it is miraculous ! The surgery was quick and easy, not at all unpleasant- in fact its been the best medical experience that I have ever undergone.
The whole team are fantastic and put you are ease. It has been life enhancing beyond my wildest dreams.

Following a long string of 7 miss diagnoses Mr David Anderson diagnosed an unusual problem of herpes in my left eye. He prescribe a series long term drugs and i've been free of problems for over 3 years.thank you David.

In my 87th year I was anxious at the thought of cataract surgery as I have a pre-existing condition: Terrien Marginal Degeneration of the cornea in both eyes. I approached Anderson Eye Care and I had a thorough examination Mr David Anderson. He gave me a clear and precise state with regard to my eyes, including the need for cataract surgery, but importantly how the condition of my corneas would need special attention. I was able to fully understand what to expect and the importance of following the aftercare instructions. The surgery exceeded my expectations and my sight is better than it has been for many a long year.

I had my first cataract op in Mar, for which I left a 5* review. 4 weeks ago it was the turn of the other eye and, as I discovered in my post op consultation, my vision is now better than 20/20.
I cannot speak too highly of David Anderson as he explains the intricacies, allows time for discussion, is an excellent surgeon and caps it all by being thoroughly personable throughout the process.
I would give 6 stars if I could!

A great outcome after having problems with my right eye for 18 months. The DESC operaration, on 25th March, at the Wessx Nuffield went very smoothly, carried out by a very professional and competent team, lead by David Anderson. This was followed by excellent aftercare by the Staff of The Wessex Nuffield. Within 48 hours, my clarity of vision improved greatly and has continued to improve. I am now back excercising on my my cross-trainer and walking daily.
I have no hesitation in recommending Anderson Eye Care Ltd.

I recently had cataract surgery on both eyes (one week apart) performed by Mr David Anderson and I cannot recommend him and his excellent team more highly. From start to finish it was completely stress and pain free, and there were no needles involved….!! Anaesthesia is administered with eye drops. Mr Anderson explained what he was doing throughout the procedure which took about twenty minutes. After a welcome sandwich and a cup of coffee I was free to leave the hospital. It could not have been easier.
I felt no discomfort once I was home and within twenty four hours the sight in my eye was brilliant…. Suddenly the world was clear and bright….!!

I had Surface Ablation on both eyes about 3 weeks ago now with Mr Anderson. I'm so happy with the results. Waking up and being able to see if like a dream.

I felt nervous the day of the procedure but really didn't need to worry about anything. Staff at the Nuffield were fantastic. I was made to feel very relaxed. There was no pain during the procedure just very bright lights. Mr Anderson talked me through the whole procedure which I think only lasted about 20 mins from walking into the room to walking out. I also had a fantastic hadn't to squeeze when I felt a little nervous.

The first 3 days were very sore, A little like cutting onions. But the drops I was given were very useful and helped with the soreness. I needed to just sleep a lot in a darkened room and listen to a lot of audio books. The soreness was well worth it, after those 3 days my eyes started to get clearer and clearer. I was able to drive again about about 6 days; and had better than 20/20 vision after a week.

Would recommend this to anyone in a position to be able to go ahead.

I had excellent care and attention throughout while undergoing cataract surgery to both eyes in the last month. The results are amazing and I can now drive with confidence.

my mother recently had surgery with Mr Anderson,she said ' I was getting very blind and Mr Anderson suggested a corneal transplant op and cataract removal,in June 2018 I had my cataract removed and I was quite blind for a few days afterwards and it was a little painful but that soon dissipated,on 28th September I has my transplant surgery and it all went very smoothly,I was in hospital for 2 days and then came home ,each day I had to lie flat for 2 -3 hours and at other times could sit in flattish position ,in hospital I could get up to use the toilet.I had referent eye drops which were OK .
After 3 - 4 weeks I looked out of the window and could see right across the field and could also see the cows which was wonderful,I have good days and not so good days ,each week is better but things are slowing now a year later ,still things pop up and surprise you with the vision,I now only use one drop a day and all is clear and good.
I was very apprehensive about the op but Mr Anderson and his team were so kind, it was uncomfortable for a few weeks but the result is great and I am so grateful to Mr Anderson and his team ,my long distance vision is great ,reading is taking a little longer although I can do large print crosswords ,the operation was well worth having done and no one needs to think twice about it ,it is wonderful to be able to see again '
this review is from my mum but I would just like to add that the op has changed her life ,she was virtually blind and now has her independence and vision back ,she is now 90 and still lives independently which would not have been possible without this ,the team were great and the hospital excellent ,thank you

I underwent SMILE laser eye surgery in December 2019 with Anderson Eye Care. This involved an initial consultation, followed by the operation in Southampton. Being a Channel Island resident, the staff were extremely accommodating with my travel plans. The surgery was really quick and pain free. The recovery the first day was the only day I felt discomfort which is normal and relieved with the pain killer drops provided. By the next day I was out shopping and enjoying the Christmas markets. The results have been incredible, I can now see better than 2020 and would recommend this treatment to everyone. The staff at the hospital were all very friendly and David made me feel very relaxed and comfortable in his hands during the operation. 110% worth it.

I have been assessed by David Anderson for a number of years for an unusual cornea condition.
He has been very thorough in checking my condition to ascertain whether it is stable, or deteriorating. Thankfully I have not had to have any interventions yet, but should this become necessary I know I would be in safe hands.
I recommend Anderson Eye Care as a centre of excellence and professionalism

I underwent insertion of an intracorneal ring combined with corneal crosslinking in my left eye with Anderson Eye Care in September 2019. The procedure is entirely painless and does not take long, all you feel is pressure on your eye. There was moderate discomfort from around 2 hours post procedure until around 12 hours post procedure, however you are provided with painkillers and numbing eye drops which keeps everything under control. I woke up the morning after with no discomfort whatsoever, which was surprising to say the least.

From my initial consultation with David through to my procedure and followup appointments, I found David and the other staff at the Nuffield facility to be professional and polite. I would rate my experience with Anderson Eye Care as exceptional and would not hesitate to consult with David again should I need treatment in my other eye.

I was really anxious going into surgery of this kind, however from the first appointment I was confident in the whole approach from Mr Anderson and with the information given.
This was carried forward to my time in hospital in Southampton where I was treated so well and made to feel that I was in very good hands.
I want to say a very big thank you for the wonderful results Mr Anderson achieved on my eyes and sight.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Mr Anderson to anybody contemplating similar treatment.

David Anderson and his team performed miracles on my right eye last year: a cataract followed by an eye graft to correct the problems caused by Fuchs Dystrophy. My vision has improved immeasurably since the treatment and I've already had follow-up appointments with David to check progress. Im advised I can expect still more improvement over the coming months and I couldn't be more pleased!
The quality of care I received from David Anderson, his team, and the Nuffield nursing staff has been exemplary at all times and I extend my heartfelt thanks :-)

I first met Mr Anderson in May 2019 after being referred by my Guernsey consultant. I have to say after 4 months of uncertainty with my eyes from the first appointment I had with Mr Anderson I felt at ease with the knowledge that I was in excellent hands. I had been diagnosed with Salzmanns Nodular Cornea degeneration in both eyes which I have been told is quite a rare disease. Which had lead to me not being able to look at computer screens, watch TV or read. He explained I would need laser surgery on both my eyes to remove the nodular lesions which I had in June 2019. I am due my 3 month check up very soon and am now able to do things I enjoy again. I can’t thank Mr Anderson enough also to mention The staff at the Nuffield and Mr Anderson’s PA’s who all helped to make the process as easy as possible for me.

Thank you for giving me 20/20 vision. I had cataract operations on both eyes in May the results were immediate and no discomfort. Mr. Anderson explained every option in detail and I received five star treatment and outcome. A big thank you to him and his team who put me at ease. I would thoroughly recommend Mr. Anderson for his expertise and empathy.

Yes cataract surgery is scary but David and his team were wonderful. David listened very carefully to what I wanted to achieve and patiently answered my detailed questions. He worked closely with my optician so that I could try contact lenses of different prescriptions to see which suited me best. In the end I had one eye adjusted for distance/normal vision and one eye for reading. My surgery was 2 months ago and everyone was kind and patient. It took time to get use to my new eyes but I now don't need glassed for the first time since I was 12 years old! I am completely use to my eyes now and don't notice that I have had anything done other than I don't wear glasses which is life changing!
I would definitely recommend David and would like to say a BIG Thank You!

I recently had cataract surgery and Mr Anderson and his team looked after me extremely well from start to finish. The operation was explained clearly and I was made to feel at ease. The operation was simple and the after care excellent. My vision is clear and much better than I expected given my pre-existing condition.
