It is anytime fitness centre in Woodley, Reading. Location is good. Problem is that it is not kept cool enough. I think this is to save money. All other areas are not bad and cool enough. However, the tread mill area does not get enough air condition's air. It because this area is on the far end, and a wall blocks the air reaching there. It gets very uncomfortable while exercising. I have pointed this matter several times to the owner and to the manager, but they ignore it. I have suggested an easy solution to install a fan on the wall in that particular area. I have also contacted the central office twice, telephone number 03303322361. It was promised that over all area manager would contact me. How ever it did not happen. Recently the manager of the club itself had been rude. He told me that if it was not cool enough then I must leave the club. I consider that the manager's response was unaccetable and ill mannered.

For a first time gym user I cannot thank Fiona and team at AF Sutton in Ashfield for making me feel at ease. It’s a gym family in there. The help and support I cannot from them all has been incredible and this is helping me achieve my goals. Big up team AF Sutton-In-Ashfield.

I was a member of this gym for a year and had several issues with the mentioned woman (read all the bad reviews, mostly about her) To name a few: she has made fatphobic comments to people (lost count of how many times she humiliated people saying they are fat and should defo go to the gym, that they look bad, and that she was too, fat once, what kind of customer service is this? if nothing, she should try and support people), she treated people bad, made transphobic comments even (can't get in details but if you're a trans person, maybe look for another gym to join). Last September I decided to leave the gym, because of how badly I saw people being treated, In a specific occasion I came in to freeze my account, as I was going away for a while, and guess what? Got a lot of attitude, snarky comments and a fake smile with poison dripping from the corner of her mouth. Grand, water under the bridge, turns out that yesterday I decided to go back to the gym, I was ready to let go of her obnoxious behaviour, but hey, guess what? as soon as I walked in she comes flying like a crazy person, very rude tells me that I did not scan in, as I was on my phone deciding which plan to pick, obviously, I didn't scan in, If I have no fob, how could I? The situation derailed from there, the lady told me that I was trespassing and this is only the beginning of the insults. I requested to chat with the manager, she said he was busy and would only be available in 45 minutes, and I couldn't wait inside the gym, hence it is winter and it was a VERY cold night. She then proceeded to escort me out of the gym, smiling as if nothing happened. My friend, which was with me and is a member of the club decided to cancel her membership there and then, but was told that she had to send an email, in the email, she also asked to chat with the manager, but guess who was answering the emails? That lady in question, so, it has been more than 2 years that she is bullying people and nothing is done, and thats exactly why she keeps on doing it to people, because she gets away with it. I guess I'll just take my business elsewhere. Bullying and bad customer service should not be accepted, shame on you Anytime Fitness.

I just signed up with the Kensington branch and after the COVID-19 shutdown, all gyms are freezing their membership at no cost. Anytime Fitness, however, is not, they are charging £5 per month to freeze your membership. I emailed the branch explaining that I will only consider freezing my membership at NO COST, as the point is to freeze payments, and instead they have gone ahead and processed an unauthorised membership freeze until May!

Furthermore, I was emailed by someone from the Kensington branch yesterday saying that because my membership is monthly, no further payments would be taken out of my bank account and membership will be terminated at the end of the month, but Raj Singh decided to freeze my membership without my permission at a monthly cost of £5 today. Disgusting behaviour from a company I have never experienced. I will be cancelling my direct debit and will not be returning to Anytime Fitness when the government shutdown is lifted. If monthly payments start to leave my account, I will be reporting them as fraud, as these are unauthorised.

Been trying to get a refund for 3 months.
The Hornchurch anytime fitness is utterly appalling.I contacted Marie Leonard the general manager, and she advised that my membership had been cancelled. After visiting the gym on Saturday 8th February and witnessing nothing short of chaos and evidence of a premature opening, I, unfortunately canceled. The absence of suitable lockers, no coat space and no key fobs are sadly just three of the reasons that I had to cancel my membership. This is also combined with the fact that a direct debit was taken from February after being reassured that this month was free and I am still unable to attend the gym as there is no safe place to put my belongings and I am unable to gain entry into the gym, and I would class both of these as merely satisfactory requirements.

My son-in-law has had numerous problems with this gym for example trying to cancel his membership and them taking money out of his bank account whilst they are closed. He has emailed a complaint to them but has still not received a reply. I work for a law company and my advice would be is to contact the Ombudsman and speak to the Police as this is fraudulent as they are trying to take money from members bank accounts under different company names. It is absolutely scanderlous!

As in previous posts i cancelled my daughters membership after 6 months as we signed up for a 6 month membership i competed the online form and cancelled the direct debit In October they reinstated my direct debit without our approval ( fraudulently) i cancelled it straight away and spoke to the manager who said this was a mistake and would sort it. i have emailed the club and phoned and left voicemails but no one returns the email or phone calls There is a new manager in place called Jackie Coughill. They act in a fraudulent manner, they do not keep records or contracts. We now have a letter stating we owe money or it will be based to a debt agency. The Bramhall club is giving the anytime fitness brand a bad name. i have contacted a lawyer,

Daylight robbery!

Ever since I joined anytime fitness I regretted it. They refuse to cancel your membership until you have paid every month for 12 months. Even with the current lockdown, they are still charging each month and refuse to let me cancel my membership.

For anyone who is considering a membership, don't. There are plenty of other gyms that let you cancel at anytime. If, like me, you have moments where some days you're really determined to exercise and other days you can't be bothered/don't have the time.

I signed up with Anytime Fitness two weeks ago. It's not the cheapest of gyms, but I thought it's time for me to invest in taking care of my health, mind and body. Anytime Fitness is in a good location, gym itself has fair bit of equipment, not over-packed. I explained to the two guys who did the blinding sales trick on me the day when I came in to have a look at the gym premises, that I am looking to boost my confidence, improve fitness and do a fair bit of pilates and yoga, as part of my training. They gave me what sounds like a good deal- said they'll sell me a student price deal, if I agree with 6month contract, which I was hesitant to sign up for as I've experienced gyms being very unhelpful when it comes to cancelling or freezing fixed memberships due to reasons like injury or mental health. I have recently been signed off work for stress and anxiety and I'm looking to improve my mental health by doing more relaxing and exercising. They told me -if I don't think this is for me, I can cancel the contract within two weeks and get a full refund of the £39 pounds I paid for joining the gym and the key fob. Two weeks later, I contact the gym, explain I have tried the pilates and yoga, but am not happy with the instructor approach, therefore I would like to cancel. I am now told that as a goodwill, they will cancel the membership, but will not give me the money back as I have used the gym facilities within the two week grace period. Tell me if I'm wrong, but how the hell am i supposed to know if this is the right thing for me if I don't try it?! NOONE mentioned I am not to use the gym facilities within the first two weeks should I wish to cancel and get a full refund. I only signed up as I saw it as a fair deal- giving me two weeks to decide if I want to commit for 1/2 year. Don't fall for this people, or you will pay £39 for two week 'Membership', which is equal to what it costs at Bannataynes and Nuffield, where they have a swimming pool, sauna and steam room facilities too.

There’s a lot of pressure selling with the whole system I feel like for a free gym pass you just want to see the experience of what it is like I don’t think with what they’re offering definitely having PTs would you have to pay for as well for £30 you would think that would be more included and there be more inclusive stuff with the equipment and what they are offering the 12 months contract isn’t at all what people want they want to 6 months and three months and a monthly rolling contract that’s more appealing and it’s not sold like that it’s more so that is a 12 month contract. It’s not worth the money when you can go to another gym and get that same type of stuff for much cheaper and less pressure you to buy and the producer prices if they can just to get people in there not interested in the person they’re more interested in the money and having to pay £30 for a fob is ridiculous. It gets marketed at monthly but they don’t tell you at all about the pricing structure on the website and it’s very much precious cells to you and they only do 12 months and six months but I don’t tell you that when you first enquiry which I think is really bad. They can’t be honest to their customers about the pricing structure and just being honest to us about the prices you sell your gym membership for and that you don’t do monthly contract last of your precious cells on people will obviously make me who want to actually go to your gym but is overrated of the cast and they don’t care about you they just care about the money.

DON'T JOIN IF YOU DON'T WANT A HEADACHE WHEN YOUR MEMBERSHIP ENDS
My membership ended at the 31st of March, on the 3rd of March I wrote an email to my gym (Ilford branch) that I don't want to expand it, and asked them to cancel. Didn't get any answer, but as the March fee (the last one of my 1 year contract) was taken already I cancelled the direct debit as I didn't want my contract 'accidentally' renew. Since then I had 3-4 text messages and emails, as they noticed the direct debit had been cancelled, and like this they can't take the fee, etc. etc. etc. In the last few days I am exchanging emails with the manager, who keeps telling me I owe money to the gym, the 'proof' what she sent me is some kind of .docx file, which says the April payment hasn't been taken. Which shouldn't as my membership finished in March. I assume membership fee has been taken in advance every month and the March one had been taken already, before I cancelled the direct debit. It's not a bad gym but ridiculous how hard they make to not expand the contract.

As a student I wanted to take advantage of the 3 month summer membership last year. I then got tricked into signing a 6 month contract then apparently a 1 year according to a very rude woman that was emailing me.(it wasn’t)
DO NOT JOIN HERE. Tiny gym and an absolute SCAM. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for months and I’ve moved to uni now. The nearest gym is half an hour away at my uni and I don’t drive so getting there would be completely impossible however apparently it’s within the miles so I cannot just cancel it.
RUDE staff and were horrible to me knowing I’m a young student trying to take advantage of me. I will be taking this further if nothing is done about this and I wish that I never joined. This gym is so bad that they turned over all the staff. They then promised me the problem would be sorted and it still hasn’t been.
DO NOT JOIN HERE EVER, BIGGEST SCAM GOING.
I will be spreading word around bramhall.

I had been with anytime fitness for over 3 years paying on a monthly basis with no contract obligations and joined the Piccadilly branch over a year ago. Up until cancelling my Membership the gym was good no complaints.

My complaint is that i have been continuously charged every month for the last 3 months since i terminated my membership at Anything Fitness Piccadilly.

I cancelled my membership onsite with this gym over 3 months ago and i am still being charged 30 pound a month! The first time i cancelled my gym membership, i was at the gym and told in person no money would be taken out of my account and my contract would finish at the of that month.

The following month another 30 pound was taken out of my account. I came back to the gym to ask why this had happened and was told that you have to provide a months notice, (Bare in mind i cancelled my Gym membership at the very start of the previous month) there was never any mention about this the previous time i had "canceled" my membership with another employer at the gym. This time i was reassured again in person that my membership was terminated and i would not be charged any more money the following month.

Fast forward to the 2nd of March, i have been charged yet again another £30 pound, 3 months in a row after originally cancelling my membership, speaking with the staff twice in person to resolve this and nothing has been done. I'm now £90 pound out of pocket, for a gym that i haven't attended in 3 months, havent been offered a refund and had to contact my bank to prevent any further transactions.

If anyone at anytime fitness could assist and provide a refund it would be appreciated. Its a shame that good memories at this gym have been completely ruined by this awful experience.

Thank you for your response, however receiving an email advising no refund on membership or fob I don’t feel is acceptable, I signed up on the 16th Jan to be told site closes on the 31st, I appreciate this can’t be helped but still waiting on my fob 3 weeks later........ couldn’t use another site even if I wanted to.

Disgusting communication from gym joined a few weeks ago, Anytime fitness Sheffield arena, to get a email to say it's closing effective immediately paid for a full month no explanation or anything!

Paid for fobs I never received and membership I never got chance to use, provided an info@ email where currently no response, other sites don't want to help either, very poor service.
