Defender 90 and 110 for sale Customized Land Rover Defenders hand built as new in our UK US workshops

I am another US buyer who currently has a defender 110 being custom built by LRUK. Rather than being a very risky venture -buying a car essentially on line- this process been fun, informative, and well supported by the staff at LRUK. They have gone, and continue to go, above and beyond my expectations in terms of customer service and support. The constant flow of pictures during the build is great to keep an eye on things as the defender is built. The pictures truly show the complexity of the job but also how good these guys are at what they do. I am happy to have found this company and cannot wait to receive my new, custom built, defender 110!

I received my 1986 Defender 110 from Arkonik one year ago this month. First of all the vehicle is awesome and will likely be the last vehicle I ever own as I am never giving it up. But more importantly, the team at Arkonik have been better than I could have imagined. I could write a book on how they exemplify customer service.

The buying/customization process with Tom was so smooth and thoughtful. He walked me through each detail and it felt like a trusted friend giving advice. Outstanding. The team was right there with me as the vehicle was shipped and passed customs. Making a large purchase in a different country is always scary. But Tom and the Arkonik team made me feel like they were right down the road.

After it arrived, the Arkonik team was still hands on to make sure everything went smoothly (there’s always a few minor nuances to be made on a 30 year old vehicle). Jasmin and Craig fielded my many questions like pros, directing me to resources and giving technical advice. I was not satisfied with the original engine that Land Rover supplied in the 1986 model so I decided to upgrade the engine and the Arkonik folks helped me acquire a new 200TDI and get it shipped to me. Not only that, but they sent their experts over to install it too! The end result is a Defender that is far and above what Land Rover rolled out of the factory in 1986. The whole Arkonik team is awesome!

I can’t say enough great things about these folks. If you want a Defender, you want to go to Arkonik...and we know you want one!

I have had my Arkonik Defender 110 going on 1.5 years, the quality of build, and the wonderful people at Arkonik that made it happen was truly an exceptional experience, the best I have ever had when purchasing a vehicle. I have owned 76 cars. They are trust worthy, caring and responsive. What else would you need when you know they delivery what they promise, are there for you when, or if there is an issue and help you resolve it without any hesitation. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. I called one day, asked where do I send my deposit, I want one and we were off. Never missed a beat sending money across the pond to to complete strangers, never was I worried, they were in constant contact. They are simply the best.

I stumbled across Arkonik (then known as Land Rovers UK) in 2013 when I was seeking advice around importing a potential project Defender from continental Europe. Andy, the owner, was so open and helpful that I eventually had to think about sourcing a finished Defender straight from him. After another year and a half of research and a visit to Arkonik's facility in Somerset, I placed an order for a 110. The observable superior attention to detail and customer testimonials were enough to convince me to invest in their product.

The build process was the closest thing I can imagine to what it's like to have a child. It took about 9 months. Routine check-ins with provided me with progress and development status. Images supplied consistent proof of progress and attention to detail. By the second trimester, I was pretty ready for the delivery. At that point, I didn't even care what it looked like. But Arkonik did. Eventually, it was delivered to my wife and I and we couldn't have be more proud of what 'we' created.

I've had the truck for about seven months. Arkonik has stayed in close contact with me to make sure everything remains operational and well-maintained.

I encourage any interested customer to properly prepare themselves for the responsibility of owning one of these vehicles. My 110 requires constant care. Again, like a child, it sometimes leaks on the floor and requires regular fluid replacements - just part of the engaging responsibility of owning a piece of history.

Five stars - I'd do it again, but I don't have any more room in the garage and I'm having too much fun with the first one.

A Work of Art with an Engine -

We just spent two days at the Arkonik headquarters, body shop and garage and found the team to be top notch - very professional, knowledgeable and ultra accommodating. Due to some travel challenges on our part and a rather late arrival, Thomas Parry and Nathan Davis were willing to stay well past closing to walk us through the design-build process and begin our selections. Throughout our time together every question was thoroughly addressed and a tremendous amount of patience was displayed as we vacillated on varying selections.

Jeremy in QC meticulously inspects each Defender from top to bottom and bumper to bumper. He is equally gifted test driving from the left or right hand side to make sure the engine is properly tuned and ready for the customer in whatever part of the World the Defender will be delivered.

The experience was fun, enjoyable and quite a learning process. I truly believe the Arkonik team does build every Defender for themselves first and allows us to adopt their masterpiece.

The entire team takes great pride in turning out a classic. We anxiously await delivery of our Arkonik Defender 110.

From the first phone call two years ago, to present day, has been an awesome journey. I cant believe my dream SUV is now in my garage. There are days when I go down stairs turn on the lights and just stare at my beautiful 110. When I drive her, I know I'm smiling from ear to ear. So many land rover drivers give me a thumbs up as I pass them by, around town. Many times my gas station visit ends up taking an hour because guys are asking me "what the heck is that, Its really cool looking?" You guys have created a dream for me that I get to ride in every day.
The staff was great to work with. The web portal was cool so I could see each step of the build process and the delivery day was like a kid waiting on Santa to put gifts under the tree. I was so excited the night before I could not sleep. Thank you, thank you , thank you for creating the goose bumps on my arms every time I put my hands on the steering wheel!!!!!

If you are looking for the premier company from which to purchase your dream Defender, it does not get any better than Arkonik. From start to finish including delivery, they are absolute tops.

I happened upon Arkonik when I was bitten by the Defender bug in 2014. The website was like the Victoria's Secret catalogue when I was a youngster – full of gorgeous models that I would never see lounging in my...well, my garage! As we had already planned a vacation to England with our girls, and Arkonik is located in a beautiful area near Bath, we arranged a factory visit as part of our trip through the countryside.

I am not sure what my wife and girls expected. They probably thought that they were wasting the day on some dumb car bunny trail. But right from the start, they were sooooo into the trucks; looking at the stock of carcasses, checking out all the production areas, critiquing the various designs, sitting and looking in every single Defender on the grounds. It was clear that they were also bitten hard by the Arkonik bug and were experts on them four hours later! By the time we had designed and quoted mine with the Sales Team, my giddy wife said: "Let's write the check!"

Despite all of that, I wanted to wait. I was planning to go and check out several other similar operations… and I did. THEN we wrote the check and got in line! Why? Simple – Arkonik loves making these bad boys even more than you will love owning them. They are a great bunch of people, who really turn these humble trucks into something that is far superior in every single way than when they rolled off the Land Rover production line, even in 2016!

They have a vision of what these trucks can be and they execute it flawlessly. The body and paint are amazing and the process if getting them to that level is painstaking and thorough. The engine build shop basically puts all new parts onto the refurbished block, with many custom parts that are higher quality than the original. The interiors are fantastic and really catch people's eye.

The really fun part of the process is picking all the options for a full custom build, the results are jaw-dropping.

Literally, I cannot tell you how many people turn and look, come up and ask "What IS this??" plus all manner of other goofy behaviour in the presence of these gorgeous beasts.

The professional aspect of Arkonik impressed me in every department. Things get done on time and you are kept up to date with the process on the portal or via email and phone. There are constant check-ins with you during the process and no detail is too small to get noticed and handled: this aspect is very important when you are sending sizable chunks of cash overseas and hoping it all turns out well! It does…100%

Delivery day is a fun deal and it's great to see the finished product in the driveway! I had already seen and driven in mine a few months ahead of delivery when I was in England, but it still felt fresh and tingly when it arrived. A very nice touch from their customer service department is to have their residential expert do a personal handover and explain the truck inside-out and spend time with you to make sure all is as it should be and that you are completely comfortable with your new truck. I have not heard of another company that does this and it's extremely useful.

In short, Arkonik is as good as they appear and promise and the truck is even better than I'd hoped in every way. I have zero reservations in recommending the Arkonik team to anyone smart enough to invest in a Defender and have done so with a dozen friends who have expressed an interest. You will not be disappointed, not even a little bit. Go get one now!!

After countless hours of on-line research and reading about Arkonik's client experiences , I knew Arkonik was the obvious choice for my new defender. What I did not know at that time was how enjoyable the entire process with Arkonik would be.
From the very first phone call through completion, every person I worked with was professional and helpful. The process was straight forward and Arkonik did everything they said they would do. The people at Arkonik are first class.
Bottom line; Arkonik only restores/ builds Defenders; no other makes or models to distract them. They know every bolt.

I am a real-estate developer and Land Rover and general car enthusiast in Portland, Oregon, USA. When a friend heard that I was thinking of giving my wife, a Defender 110 for her birthday, he suggested I check out Arkonik’s website. I was immediately enthralled by the idea of getting her exactly the rig she wanted!

I started cautiously, and did a lot of research. Of course, this involved many conversations and emails with the Arkonik team. I had so many questions about the process, the importation, service, parts, durability, and the Arkonik team patiently answered them all.

My wife was very excited when I proposed the idea to her; she had always dreamt of owning a vintage Defender. She began to explain her idea of the perfect rig: “It would look like it was left in a garage 30 years ago, and we just stumbled across it!” The Arkonik team was excited by this challenge and they were just excellent to work with, sending us many paint & leather samples until we had it ‘just right’.

The anticipation was a killer, but the photographic updates were a fantastic salve. Of course, once she was here, we were absolutely thrilled with the result! We get nothing but compliments wherever we go, including the local Land Rover shop!

We have been particularly impressed with Arkonik’s “service after the sale.” Andy told us early on, “We will be here for you, Mate”, and they truly have been – for every question or little issue. If I had to describe Arkonik in three words, they would be ‘dedicated’, ‘bespoke’, and ‘quality’.

Now she is having a blast loading the girls into the rig and heading off to whatever destination seems inviting. Plus, she allows me to drive it on the weekends to get her coffee! The only downside is that the rig almost feels too pristine to take out and get muddy.

Of course we look forward to the day when we can order another Arkonik Defender – maybe even a D90 next time around!

Investigating different options for my next vehicle for 6 months I zeroed in on wanting every kids dream vehicle of a Defender 110. I never thought I would have to go to another country to get one though. After several discussions with Steve and the Land Rover UK crew all of my concerns were cleared away and all of my wants and expectations were incorporated into my dream vehicle. At the time of this review my 110 is still under construction, but my experience with the Land Rover UK team has been nothing but exceptional. The only negative thing I can say is that seeing all the new creations from LRUK makes me want my 110 even faster and I have already started planning my next 110 without even experiencing my current purchase. I look forward to enjoying my 110 for years to come and strengthening an already family-like relationship with Land Rover UK. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing more about your US expansion.

My first 110 is currently under construction but I can say with hand on heart that dealing with Landrovers UK has been one of the easiest processes I have ever undertaken. From initial discussion regarding the use of my future car and my ideas for it we moved onto discussing specific options. The advice I have been given has always been honest and I believe has led towards the creation of the perfect car for me. I think the last part of that sentence is the most important, this company doesn't mass produce cars for the general market, they work with their customers to build the car of their dreams, personalised to their customers needs and wants in every respect. This sort of service, experience and attention to detail can not be understated! From discussing various interior options to the ever so important choice of colour the team at LRUK have been friendly and approachable providing both advice and a knowledgeable ear to my ideas. I could not recommend LRUK enough!

My Defender 90 soft top (featured and called the Dune on their website) from Arkonik is technically from 1991 but to call it a rebuilt or refurbished Defender is like calling the Marvel Comic, Captain America, just a soldier. While it is technically true, he is actually so much more and by analogy so is the Defender. It’s actually a brand new Defender custom made to my specifications, a super Defender if you will. The Dune has exceeded my expectations (which started out extremely high) and their service is beyond what any car dealership has even dreamt to obtain. The biggest compliment I can give is to say without question or hesitation I would do it again. One of the best purchases I have ever made. If a Defender is what you want, and you want the best, then look no further. You are home.

First off, One must understand that buying and importing to the U.S. a “vintage” automobile that is procured specially for the customer, rebuilt from chassis up, and customized to the tiniest detail is going to take time. It will be time well spent with Arkonik. From start to finish they have really been superb. Every detail is covered. My first interaction with them by telephone, which served as my “interview” of them, was amazing. I sat at my phone with a list of 30 questions and without me having to ask a single one of those questions, they answered every one as if they could read my mind. They also brought up issues that I never would have thought to ask about. They are incredibly transparent. They give a realistic time frame for the build “start to finish” and they are upfront about costs. All too often with these kinds of projects, they end up taking twice as long and being twice as costly as originally planned. Not with Arkonik. Communication is great. They keep you posted along the journey from procuring the vehicle to be rebuilt and customized through the entire build process. Along the way, they allow for modifications to the original order and inform you of any additional items they have added to their repertoire of stuff that they can offer. No hard sell, just options they let you choose from if you wish. They even allowed me to “hypercustomize” a few little things on my build and were eager to do so. It is a costly endeavor but well worth it. They make the intimidating prospect of having an older, rebuilt and modified automobile imported to the U.S. as smooth and “hands free” as one could hope for. I really cannot say enough great things about Arkonik. I’m a fan for life.

Just a quick follow up, since I have had my Defender approximately one year now-
still incredible! I put roughly 1200 miles on a road trip up the Oregon coast and felt famous… Only because every time we stopped into a little town, people wanted to photograph the vehicle. You'll find Defender 110's in movies, but not so much on the highways in the United States. Several different car/truck collectors have looked at my Defender and have noted that it truly is like a brand-new vehicle that just came off the showroom floor. Well actually, I have the photos to prove that it is just that! The build quality was outstanding and the customer service from the time of my initial call to the follow up after the sale has been unequaled. Thanks to Andy and the rest of the team for providing me with a spectacular experience!

To preface this review, I've been following Arkonik for several years now on various social media channels and have consistently been a fan of the quality that they have produced. Recently, I left my home in California to begin a photography trip around the world which has led me to the U.K. I had the idea in the back of my mind that I would contact Arkonik upon my arrival and see if they would be kind enough to allow me to pop in and have a look around. When I arrived in London, I dropped them a line asking if I could come by and take some photos for them. A short time passed and I received a warm response email from Andy Stacey thanking me for reaching out and graciously inviting me over to Somerset to come visit, even going so far as to arrange for a personal pickup for me from nearby Bath. From the moment I stepped foot into Arkonik HQ, I was greeted with smiles and handshakes, from literally everyone. When I was given the tour around the multiple offices and work bays, everyone seemed to have known I was coming. "You're Spencer, right? It's lovely to meet you finally." I truly have never known hospitality like this. I honestly have less welcoming relatives. After the tour was over, I was given carte blanche access to the entire operation to photograph whatever my heart desired. This even included setting up a fairly involved piece of equipment in the sanding bay which the boys all happily worked around. Around 1 p.m., Lauren from the office tapped my shoulder and informed me that a recently completed Defender 110 was due to be taken out and photographed in a nearby picturesque patch of woodland. I absolutely jumped at the opportunity! I opened the rear hatch and placed my equipment in the back and what a sight I was greeted by: immaculate diamond plate flooring, beautiful leather seating, rugged dials and handles, a truly incalculable number of beautiful nuances; a truly awe-inspiring creation. On the excursion, I was joined by the in-house photographer, Sam, and the managing director of Arkonik, Andy Hayes. It was absolutely astonishing to me that the CEO of the company hand tested every single one of the vehicles to make sure it met his exacting standards of quality. During the drive out to the shoot location, Andy passionately spoke about the philosophies that drive his company: an unceasing attention to detail, a strong belief in his product, and handcrafted perfection down to the last nut and bolt. It was the strong, innate impulse within him to take things old and breathe new life into them that has formed Arkonik into what it is today. That, and an amazingly gifted set of boots on the ground in each bay and office. At the end of the day, Andy was really interested in my input as a fresh pair of eyes, and to that end, this is what I saw: Everyone at Arkonik is open-minded to new ideas and to growth. They operate as a tight-knit family and the overall mood in the building is one of jovial comradery. Each Defender is a beautifully made labour of love crafted exactly to each customer's specific tastes. I couldn't be happier about sending that email, this is an experience I'll treasure for years to come. Truly the highlight of my time in the United Kingdom.

I've owned a few different models of Land Rovers throughout the years but it wasn't until my most recent deployment to Afghanistan that I got test the Defender's capabilities. I made a decision then and there that I would get my very own Defender. The Defender is truly the worlds most recognized utilitarian vehicle. After spending months researching, I decided to purchase my dream rig from Arkonik. The Arkonik team is the gold standard in rebuilding and customizing Defenders. It was a truly magnificent feeling when my 110 was delivered! With many trips to the coast and the mountains coming soon, we are excited to live to Defender lifestyle and create more family adventures and memories.
The vehicle handover process was smooth and informative as well.
I am using my 110 as a daily driver and will be soon outfitting with some accoutrements to do more overlanding. This is a vehicle we will never tire of and will be passed down to my kids...but not anytime soon!

One day I got a wild hair to look for and buy a Defender 110. I looked all over the internet at several vehicles all over the US. None on them got me excited. Then I literally stumbled across Arkonik and their website. I started to do a small amount of research and learned about what Arkonik had to offer and that they were the real deal. With ongoing hesitations about Arkonik I decided to put a deposit on a vehicle to get my name in the hat. Next step, my wife and I took a trip over the pond to visit the Arkonik operation and take our order to the next step, which was hand picking every single detail down to the stitching pattern of the thread on the custom seats. Arkonik pocked is up from our hotel and we spent the entire day with the Arkonik team. We met every person that would personally be working on our vehicle. It was then and only then that we knew that we made the right choice. Fast forward through the process.......we got to see our vehicle get built from day one through the day it left to go to the port for its journey over the pond. The client portal that they provide is awesome!! They provided daily updates on the build and kept us informed of step step of the process. The delivery of the vehicle was just as satisfying. It showed up in my driveway and days later the local US rep flew to see me to do a three hour orientation of the vehicle AND went to the DMV with me to help me title and register the vehicle. Talk about customer service!! Overall I would and may do it all over again. Great company and great vehicles. I personally got the Cervus Edition and I will have this vehicle until the day I move on to another life. Hopefully I can take it with me????

Time for a followup review after almost 3 months with my Arkonik. I love my truck, and we are getting along fabulously as we're coming up on 4000 miles now! The engine has definitely gotten stronger as she’s worn in and the handling of the truck is better than I ever would have imagined. While my original intention was to drive her 2-3 days out of the week, I’ve found myself commuting 5 days out of the week, which is a testament to how enjoyable the drive is and how capable she is as an urban daily driver. Snow is due to come soon in the Sierra Nevada Mountains so looking forward to planning my first long range trip with the truck to Tahoe. We are still working out some kinks but the Support Team has been phenomenal and I truly have confidence in everything getting sorted out as she continues to further get broken in.

I am about to take delivery of my 4th Defender from Arkonik. The relationship I've had with Thomas Parry and team Arkonik goes about 5 years back. I don't think there's a London Business School class or Harvard business case that comes close to describing what goes on at Arkonik, but having known them now for some time and even having the pleasure of visiting them in person, all I can say is that there's some magic that happens when you put a bunch of super nice people together with a deeply shared passion and experts in their respective field. Each of the builds have been special to me, purpose built and unique in its own way. The latest build is a Defender 110, which we plan to take it across country, maybe even tow an Airstream around, climb up to the roof and just watch the stars on some calm summer evening out in the middle of nowhere. Arkonik markets and sells Defenders, but the real experience is the interaction with the entire staff there who are really excited in sharing each step of the process. Can't wait to build more of these with you guys!

I started the process of purchasing my 110 a little over two years ago and received my car in Q4 2017. All I can say is, the Company's customer services is outstanding. I was very nervous throughout the process of designing the car and sending international wires. If you have a passion for a defender, I couldn't recommend a better company to work with to realize that dream.
