Ashley Ann

One star is one too many:
Following Brexit and the uncertainties around COVID-19, we elected to support a family owned and managed Scottish company. One with a culture of care “enabling delivering on the promise to guide the customer through a skilfully managed journey”. However, from the customer perspective, this project was nothing short of a complete disaster from the start.
It was clear from the outset that many basic measurements were inaccurate. Our clear instructions were sometimes ignored. Project management was woeful and the duty of care to the clients was way below an acceptable standard. The local Ashley Ann complaints procedure attempted to trivialise serious problems and silence the customer. Higher authorities at Ashley Ann Head Office were kept in the dark but when contacted were totally unresponsive. Direct emails went unacknowledged and were not replied to. We were obliged to wait weeks for a site visit from a senior member of management.
Some of the more important defects included: Shelving which did not fit (see photos). Housings and doors for fridge and freezer were the wrong specification and not fit for purpose. Wall fixings for tall units which were totally inadequate (see photos). The tumble dryer socket was fitted within the tumble dryer housing and did not comply with safety guidance from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (see photo).
Work began on 13th Sept 2021 and was finally finished on 9th Feb 2022. It was accepted that "the standard of the initial installation was at best - poor" and that "measures have been put in place to support the inexperienced team in the Edinburgh showroom". It was down to the expertise of the senior fitters from Thurso, David and Iain, who worked flat out for 3 days to finish a “four-week project” which lasted five months.
The Domestic Electrical Installation Condition Report signing off the safety of the electrics was finally received in May.
To put it simply, Ashley Ann overpromised and woefully underdelivered. Complaint resolution was dire. Simply the worst company we have ever dealt with.

We purchased our bathroom furniture from Ashley Ann in April and were so pleased that we went ahead with a completely new kitchen in October. For both jobs we had our own ideas, but the advice we received from Jenna (Aberdeen) was excellent - she really listened (with great patience) to what we were trying to achieve and her additional suggestions enhanced the end result.
Although we used our own tradesmen, Ashley Ann were most helpful to them and were happy to interact and offer support.
The units are of excellent quality and we are just delighted with both rooms.
Jenna was accomplished in delivering a very personal service, and we appreciated her follow-up visits on completion to ensure our satisfaction.

When our kitchen was being fitted the staff were all lovely, they cleared up any mess they made straight away It was a very stress free week for us

Looking at the website, Ashley Ann didn’t appear to offer what we needed and the kerb appeal of the Thurso showroom wasn’t great (although, once inside, we knew immediately that we’d come to the right place); however, we couldn’t have asked for better service as Becca perfectly interpreted our requirements for a small, sloped ceiling, walk-in wardrobe which Lee and his team then installed skilfully, making the most of every inch of available space.

We browsed the web and found that this business has an active Facebook page. We have discovered that this business has SSL (secure sockets layer), which means that this business handles your data, such as personal information or credit card details, with secure connection. We found that the domain for this business is older than two years which could be an indication that this is a trustworthy business with an established customer base and experience in their field. We found that this business has an Instagram page, where they communicate with their customers using images and videos. This is usually an indication that the business has some visual aspects that it wants to showcase. We discovered that this business uses Twitter for networking with their clients and promoting company news and updates. We found this business on Pinterest, which could indicate that it uses Pins to help people find more information on products they're looking to buy. Pinterest is also a great tool for networking with customers and finding/sharing inspiration. This business has a Youtube channel, which means they upload videos related to their business for their customers to see. Youtube is a great platform to engage audience and show what happens behind the scenes.
