The experience when picking up and returning vehicles is 2 d 2 none. The staff in Nottingham are terrific.
1 moan though, still cant get my free rental on offer ?

Twice by debit card has been used for the €1500 excess deposit. However, this time it was a big issue! My registered card on my Avis account is a debit card. Depending o who I get, determines if it can be used for the excess deposit or not! Inconsistency which is annoying. Especially for a loyal customer.

Scammed by Avis Manchester Airport female manager after years of loyalty. Charged twice for same hire - also given a filthy car full of ash and bird poop. When i complained they banned me ! Shocking especially during pandamic !!

The most obvious improvement is refunding us the extra money charged us for picking up the car one day later. We informed Avis St Pancras that our train was cancelled and we could only pick up the car the next day. Instead of a refund we were charged an extra 226.50 pounds on top of the original amount! We are very disappointed in Avis because of this.
Furthermore we were not informed regarding the places in London where we would be charged for congestion tax. One day after we we're home we received a letter from Avis charging us for 80 pounds congestions tax plus 30 pounds administration costs. This was totally unexpected! We are utterly disappointed in Avis' communication skills for us. We would appreciate Avis refunding us the costs since they did not inform us upfront.

The first car I rented from you in Orlando had not been checked before I collected it and the front two wheels were bald I was stopped by Florida Highway Patrol and the rest is somewhere in your filing system I’ve just had to cancel the contract from the 11th of November I was told yesterday the cancellation charge would be £40 today it’s £60 when I queried it they said no you were given the wrong quote yet.

once a year I come to London for a conference and I travel by train to Euston and I find that the Avis rental place is within easy walking distance to pick up a car.
the staff are friendly and helpful and the cars are in good order, with a good choice of car. Picking up and dropping off is easy being so close to the station and I would recommend THEM HIGHLY.

This review is regarding the hire of a car from Burlington Airport in Virginia USA on Sunday 6th October 2019. The booking was made via the internet on 8th January 2019. We arrived at the airport, returned our existing Avis hire car ready to pick up a smaller car for our onward journey. We were told that that they had no car due to be hired out that day and we would have to keep our existing car. We could not do that as there were 4 of us, 2 couples and we were going in separate directions. We were again told they had no cars available and even if they did there was no one available to clean and prepare it. We were then challenged about ever having booked a car at all, we produced the paperwork confirmation. After much discussion between the girls behind the desk we were asked to go away and come back in 1/2 hour when they would have sorted something out. We left and came back, 2 car had been found, cleaned and checked ready to be booked out. A satisfactory outcome. But the customer service in the moment was appalling, we were treated as if this was our fault, we were an unnecessary inconvenience we were not treated as Avis preferred clients. The stress this caused us in the middle of our holiday was immense and unnecessary. Avis you need to give your counter staff at this location some training.

There was a problem, I accept that, things go wrong. Its how you deal with them that can really make a difference. A better approach could have been to say "SORRY" there has be a mix up, it will take about 1/2 hr to sort out. Please go down to the coffee shop at the end of the row, give them these vouchers and have a coffee on us, when you come back your cars will be ready.

At the time we arrived (2 couples) a business man also turned up expecting his car to be ready, he was told the same thing we were. He complained very loudly and said he had "Captain status" the girl asked to see his booking. She read it and threw it back at him saying he only had preferred status. I suspect that Avis have already heard from him.

I've rented for a few years now from Avis but this time the car wasn't in great condition with a few scratches and a spot of damage to the offside mirror. Rubbish was also under the driver seat. Finally an issue led to me having my deposit of £200 being taken out twice from my account which meant I had to go back to the office to sort it out. Its a shame as normally Avis Horsefair have always given 100% service and I've never had any problems. It was just this time it was a bit lacking sadly.

My trip to london was excellent plus my hire car was spot on I ask for a small car like a fiat 500 and was suprised when the guy upgraded me to a beautiful new Mercedes 180b class car was great and service from this spot is great as I only rented this car for 1 day put so convenient as I took it back that evening as to not have to park it outside or in a parking spot that would have cost me a fortune .

I always find the staff to be first class, they are friendly, efficient and willing to listen if you have a problem.
My flight was late on arrival to Newcastle airport and even though the office was supposed to close the representative stayed behind to provide me the car key.
