The general public want it all, cheap prices, instant replies to email, next day delivery. The overheads to run email, anti spam, anti virus, invoicing, secure web site, warranty + shipping dept are expensive. If you want cheap then go find it on ebay or to a pet shop. Personaly I ordered from the Beyond Bikes from the UK to get some esoteric items not availabke over here. I had a problem with one item and they shipped a new one straight out free shipping. I am a very happy customer. You may be getting confused with Jenson-USA who do require faxed security checks prior to shipping as BB did not.

I ordered $150.00 worth of parts for my bike on November 27, 2006 with 3 day shipping. I received my order confirmation within a few hours so I assumed everything was in stock and fine. I wanted 3 day shipping because of the unseasonably warm weather we've been experiencing in the north east, there was still plenty of warm days to go ride ahead.

After the 3rd day, I began checking my order status on beyondbikes.com, it never changed. By December 10th I sent a polite email inquiring about my order and asking to switch my shipping to ground because it was already 2 weeks. I received a brief message stating my order would ship between 2 and 5 days. By christmas eve, I cancelled my order.

I'm so pissed. I missed so many 50 to 60 degree days in DECEMBER. I placed another order from a different online retailer a few months ago and the next day I received a phone call from an associate telling my one of my parts was not in stock, and apology and they asked how I wanted to proceed. WHATS SO HARD ABOUT THAT???? NEVER AGAIN!

UK and non US shoppers beware. Low prices quoted for goods plus shipping and handling get it as far as your country. We paid an extra £55.84 in import duty, VAT and Parcelforce clearance fee. When I suggested to beyond bikes that I'd like to see this on their website they got very offhand and said they couldn't possibly do anything about it. Very poor customer focus.

good price
order confirmed by email the same day, but the dealer asked to mi for security a fax with credit card details
after that, i sent many mail to ask the status of order. Sometime i get any response, other time the sales manager pospone the shipping day.
i peformed payment 15 day ago, but at the present time the order is not shipped.

Ordered for the holidays, on Dec 22nd. No email confirmation of purchase. No shipment statement. One item arrived, but the second one didn't arrive until January 22nd, one MONTH after it was ordered, despite the site saying it was available. Poor communication, mis-stated availability. I'd give it a 2/5 simply for the fact that something DID arrive eventually. Please work on your customer service, especially communication.

I ordered a saddle and shoes on April 23rd and recieved an email confirmation immediately. After not hearing anything from them for a couple of weeks, I called the company on May 7th to find out what the status was. I was told that the shoes were on back order and would ship by the end of the week. When I asked why I hadn't been notified that the order was delayed, I was only told that they send an email when the order ships. It is two weeks later now, and the order is just going out the door. 4 weeks later with no communications is not a way to keep customers happy. This was my first experience with these guys and it will be my last.

I ordered four Vittoria open corsa evo cx tires from this company because
they were the cheapest. Big mistake! There stock status says ship in 0-5 days.
3 weeks now and no tires. I'm getting emails stating that my order is experiencing
an "unexpected short delay." Zach told me that when they went to order the tires
they were put on back order and they have no idea when they will arrive. Zach suggested
I switch to a tire that they have in stock. BAIT AND SWITCH! I don't think they ever
intended on ordering my tires. What a crappy company! Don't buy anything from this
company online! I've cancelled my order. I'm going back to Western Bike Works.

I ordered a softer spring for my Manitou rear shock. I knew this company had a bad rep, but this was really the only place I could get it. Last time I ordered through the bike shop I had to wait three weeks and pay the price of the product in shipping...so I figured what the heck. Well, ships within 0-5 days means nothing. Absolutely nothing. May as well say ship when we feel like ordering the part. At first it kept going further and further back on backorder, but I was expecting it to be slow, so I wasn't very mad. Well, a three weeks of waiting, I send an email. No response. Send another a week later and get a response almost instantly (?) and they said they were supposed to get the shipment that day. Another week pases. I send an email asking for any form of an update. Once again, no response. Then, a few days later, we get a automated email saying that there is a problem with our order and we need to call. Ok, so we call the 800 number and sit on hold for 30 minutes. Hang up. I email support and tell them that I just sat on hold for 30 minutes. Can I please get somebody to talk to? Anybody? Try the 866 number 30 minutes later, instant response. It's Tuesday today, the order is expected to be arrive there on Friday...but they said that before too.

Customer service:
Very poor. Not hideous because when I do get a response, it is almost instant and helpful. But thats only when I do. Only 1 of 4 emails were answered, I have spent 30 minutes on hold with no answer and have waited over 5 weeks thus far and they haven't even received the part in their store.

Verdict:
They will never see my business again, no matter how good a 'deal' they can get me. Avoid them unless they are the only single shop that can get you your part, or you like waiting a month and a half for it to just ship.

They confirmed a pricematch for $2.500 by e-mail, when I called to order they wanted $2.700, and became downright aggressive when reminded of their earlier e-mail and lower price. No good explanation was offered, seems like a scam to me.

I ordered a few sets of brake pads on May 23 and received confirmation the next day saying it would ship in 3-6 days. so far so good. A week later it still hasn't shipped, so I email them to see what's up."Some of the items weren't in stock, but will be here in a couple of days and it will ship then". Not happy, but the prices are good so I can handle it. Two days later I decide to add a pair of shoes to the order if they're in stock and the order hasn't already shipped. I specifically said if they're not in stock then don't worry about it. I get an email back saying only "Done", and the shoes now show up on my order. Three days later nothing has shipped so I email them to see what's going on. No response. It's been three weeks now since I placed my order and I finally get a response. "some of the pads are on back order and the shoes will be here maybe by the middle or end of July"

I just can't believe these guys, their lack of communication and total disrespect for the customer is the worst I've experienced. The only good thing I can say about them is that their prices are really good, but that means nothing if they don't have anything in stock. And just because they sell things at a low price doesn't mean they can basically lie and string people along, it will cost them in the end. I wish I'd found this forum before I got roped in.

I ordered from this vendor prior to researching their history and this ended up to be a big mistake. Numerous employees have lied to me about the shipping status and one even hung up on me when I tried to cancel my order. Stay clear of this business. For the past 3 days they've told me that it would ship that day and every day it hasn't. They also hung up on me when I tried to cancel my order and the 2nd time I called they finally "cancelled" it. We'll see. I'll be contacting my bank here shortly to dispute the funds if they are not refunded to me. Also charged me for the products before they were even shipped.

I recently ordered a Bianchi 928 C2C through Beyond Bikes and found them very helpful, courteous and prompt. Their salesman, Kevin spent a great deal of time helping me locate the bike I wanted through their warehouse in Ohio. He told me when the bike would be received from Ohio and it showed up a day early (4 days). He called me to let me know it was received and personally built the bike. They shipped the bike 2 days later as described. By the way, before ordering, I found a competitive price through an east coast seller and they honored their price guarantee without hesitation.

This was a pricey bike and I live 1000 miles away from their shop, but I am very impressed and would order from them again. No hesitation.

I ordered a Camelbak Lobo from Beyond Bikes because they had the best price. Unfortunately, their site is deceiving and doesn't clearly indicate if the item is in stock or not. After I was notified that my order would ship in one week, I called customer service to find out why there was such a long delay. Carey in customer service told me that if an item is in stock, the site will say "ships within 24 hours". If it's out of stock it will say "ships in 0-5 days". Makes sense, right? I didn't think so, either.

This is the only experience I've had with them, so I'm not completely dissatisfied, especially because their price was much better than all other sites I checked. I would order from them again.

I kind of wish my seat had arrived 1 business day earlier so it would have been ready for my weekend bike ride, but I can't complain. The new bike saddle I bought was much cheaper than anywhere else, and they also offered a 10% off online coupon for it. The selection is pretty decent overall, I'd buy from them again if they have what I'm looking for, though it's not the best site to just browse around.
