Fantastic trip to Shetland and Orkneys. My first UK group tour. Hotels were great and food was good. Our tour guide Alastair Walker was outstanding negotiating the complexites of Covid restrictions brilliantly. Not only was he highly competent and extremely knowledgeable but it was lovely to feel like we were travelling with a friend and the 5 'singletons' on the tour of 29 were made to feel very welcome by Alastair and sharing meals with him felt like sharing with a friend. Lots of laughs. Brilliant holiday superb guide.

We Have been with Brightwater 4 times now,and the service we have found
Pretty good.
We have just returned from the Grand tour of the Inner Hebrides .and we found the tour excellent ,however the bus broke down on the way to Ionia,and we had to struggle with cases on Ferry,.items eg presents were left on the coach.and the driver had to bring items back in his case,as coach not fixed. We did have a couple of presents damaged.the coach company did accommodate us with another much smaller coach, which was a little bit uncomfortable. Both driver and tour rep were excellent though.
We did have a couple of changes to our tour,which was a bit of a disappointment ,as we had to overnight in Oben, The hotel was not as good as in Mull,as they appeared to not

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Thurso on July 2nd and was very impressed by our guide (Colin Crosbie). The gardens were all fabulous and enough time was given at each one to appreciate it. The weather was great but had it not been we might not have wanted to stay so long at each garden.
On the downside I would have liked a little time in Thurso when the shops were open. We had 2 long days, and the garden at Langwell (although very interesting) was perhaps one too many and had to be rushed.
I will certainly holiday with you again.

The Tour Manager was excellent and the coach Driver very safe and skillful. The food at the Arrochar hotel was very good, but breakfast service was slow. The staff were polite but mainly young and lacked experience, senior managers were nowhere to be seen. The room was comfortable, but the plumbing was awful; leaky toilet and dangerously hot shower that was difficult to control.

Driver (George) was excellent as was Ian the guide. Itenary was varied, interesting, and relevant.Hotel perfectly adequate although table service at times lacked a little in the way of slickness. All local guides were excellent and positively oozed personality and knowledge.
This holiday will linger in the memory for a long time.

We have no idea of what the service was like: I have filled this out in order to get rid of the survey, as we were not there:- please get Brightwater to check their records for 29th/30th/31st May, when our booking had to be cancelled at the last minute by mobile phone. I was in direct conversation with a female member of staff. My thought is that over the years their system has become over-automated. Jean Holmes.

The service was faultless both tour guide and driver could not have done more for us. The hotel room was clean and tidy but lacked tea,coffee ,water supplies l like herb and fruit drinks and there were non. Food was excellent some waiters were grumpy.

The best thing about this tour is the larger coach had an excellent driver and a guide that took us to places I didn't think we could get to. Put that in the brochure!!

Bus and driver excellent - driver was particularly helpful with my electricmobility scooter. Alistair Walker was outstanding as guide - really superb all round!
Caberfeigh Hotel very good. All ferry and travel very well planned Alastair completed an excellent holiday. Serious reservations about suitability of Isles of Barra Hotel - 7 steps down to ground floor bedrooms and back up to second floor via 9 further steps to dining room - back down to lounge for coffee and return to ground floor via 6 steps and 7 down to bedroom. This hotel is not suitable for people with mobility problems - wheel chairs totally impractible . Otherwise the views were outstanding and the free day was most entertaining.
A bit painful for me at times but otherwise a great holiday. Thanks!

My second trip with Brightwater, and another booked in August! This speaks for itself.
An excellent programme with a most knowledgable guide. The coach driver was also excellent
One slight downside was, due to us flying from Belfast, we had to have an extra night at each end in Inverness. You booked us in to the Crown Court Townhouse Hotel, which was not good. Very run down and not very clean. Perhaps not to be used again? Our hotel in Thurso was excellent, it was a pity we did not have any time to look around the town and even spend some money in it, every day we left early and returned late.

I have been on 2 Brightwater holidays and always praise the company when talking to other possible travellers. i feel secure when booking and know that real people are available all the time before travel if I have any concern. Both holidays have been very well organised, have provided exactly what is described in the brochure, and been made up of very interesting people. I have my eye on another Brightwater holiday for next year

Tour guide was excellent. Hotels both good as was food. Bus journey a bit tiring at times but that is what we signed up for - making sure we caught various ferries.

We found the leader to be excellent and so willing to share his knowledge in an understandable way.
The only downside was the confusion over lunch orders at the black house and rigid attitude of the barra hotel owner.
Yes we would consider Bridgewater again and recommend.

I did enjoy my holiday but wished we could have been nearer the gardens we visited so that we spent less time in the coach. There was a problem about where my friend and I boarded the coach as it waited 15 minutes for us in London although I had agreed by phone and confirmed later that we would join the coach in Birmingham. This led to the coach driver being cross which was upsetting as it really was not my fault. The hotel was not wonderful,but the staff were really friendly and helpful which made up for the brown bedroom!
