My wife had her car totaled while it was parked, California Casualty didn't want to help with paying it off. They say they're working with the other insurance but they make it seem like it's not their problem. They're terrible. If i could i wouldn't get give them a star.

When my car was hit by another driver California Casualty worked with the driver’s insurance agency to get my car repaired to my satisfaction. They got the job done quickly and saved me lots of frustration.

I’ve been with California Casualty for 25 years. Their premiums have always fair and the coverage excellent. Glad I found them at the beginning of my teaching career. That’s about to come to an end, but I’ll always stay with California Casualty.

We have been with California Casualty for over 30 years. During that time we have had a few accidents, including one in which an attorney was needed. They have stood by us all the way. We appreciate knowing we have them to stand up for us, follow through promptly, and take care of us, promptly settling.

I had California Casualty for over 2 years for auto insurance and had a homeowner's policy with then. I went through some vehicle changes in October and decided to cancel my service with California Casualty to go to a different company that had better coverage at a lower price. They continued to charge for the insurance even though I asked for it to be canceled. They charged me through December for insurance that I had asked to be canceled. They then put the amount into collections and I just got mail about it 2 days ago. When I called them to discuss what was going on they said I owed the money and that if I didn't pay it they were going to put something on my record for not having insurance even though I had insurance in November with another company. They are the worst company I have ever worked with and do not respect teachers at all! It is disgusting the way they treat people. In reading others reviews I don't know why I was ever a customer with them. I am still currently fighting with them about it and they are now saying I need to pay $229 for the month of October to November. I am so done with this company and their stealing.

I had AAA Auto insurance for over 20 years and never filed a single claim. When my oldest daughter turned 16 and started driving, AAA DOUBLED my rates.

I scrambled to get new quotes from GEICO, American Family and Amica, but they were all about the same price as AAA.

Then I quoted with California Casualty. Somehow they were able to save me over $1,000 a year compared to everyone else's rates. They even helped me cancel my AAA policy and get a pro-rated refund from them.

Had California Casualty for years on 3 vehicles at the same time. Every year, my premium increased with no logical explanation. Never had an accident or a ticket in over 15 years...no points. The last straw was this past November when my monthly premium increased by more than $100,... again with no explanation besides "you live in Florida". I lived in Florida when first purchased the insurance!!!
When I decided on switching insurance providers, the real trickery, lies, and erroneous information started flowing.
My 12 month insurance for years went from December to November. I called to cancel the insurance on more than enough time, the same day the November payment was automatically withdrawn from checking account. The rep told me "we are sorry to see you go. You have been one of our best customers. Your account is paid in full and you owe us zero dollars".
I then received a premium invoice dated in December. Remind you, for years, I never received an invoice because my payments were automatically deducted. Why now? I called and spoke to a rep again in early December. She again assured me the account is paid in full and to disregard any notices. This same procedure "deja-vued" in January and February.
In March 2020, got another premium invoice notice. Called rep again. Said the reason I still owe is because I cancelled a "rider" in 2014 and 2015 and I never paid a "rider cancellation fee" that coincidentally was the same amount as the monthly premium.
Told rep that info had to be false and to check the records for our four other conversations over the last 4 months that were supposed to be "recorded". The only record she found was my conversation back in November 2019 cancelling the insurance.
At that point, I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor. At first I was told there were no managers or supervisors on duty. Rep then put me on hold for 45 minutes.
Another rep who said he was supervisor came on and said the "rider" info given by the previous rep was false, but I still owed another month's premium because the validity period was changed from December-November to January-December!!!
They then decided to report the fee to a collection agency and I, in turn, reported them to the state insurance bureau that oversees and regulate car insurance.
Stay away from this company!!!...No loyalty to customers and deceptive practices!!!

We have used California Casualty (A+) since 2000 and during this time we have been very pleased with the response we have received from them whenever we needed assistance regarding our auto insurance. We think that California Casualty car insurance is very fair and responsive to our needs now and hopefully with our added home owners insurance.

We have been California Casualty customers for both home and auto insurance for nearly 40 years. The reason we have continued to support California Casualty is their great customer service and reasonable rates.

I was very satisfied with California Casualty until recently. I wondered why they hadn't lowered or refunded charges to customers automatically and saw that they were addressing issues individually. So, I called to let them know that I was and my high schooler were barely driving at all. The savings weren't much at all but the operator said I could get a good student discount for my son if I sent in his grades. I told them I had submitted documents a few months ago. She said they never received them. I sent them again with our policy number and an explanation of why 3rd quarter grades were not available due to the school closure. I did not hear from them and had to follow up with another email. They responded that there was insufficient information on the documents that I sent and that they needed fall 2019 and spring 2020 grades. The document had the school year information 2019-2020 and then it had grades listed for quarter 1, quarter 2, semester 1, quarter 3 (blank), quarter 4, and semester 2 grades. I sent them an email again with an additional document that showed which term the grades were from for terms 1 and 2. I was sent another rejection email now listing more requirements (students whole name, school's name, term grades, credits for each course) for the good student discount on top of what they asked for before and still not acknowledging the grades listed for each quarter nor the issue about 3rd quarter grades not being available. There was no official document listing requirements for the good student discount. I sent another letter asking for one and if they were taking an absolute stance on 3rd quarter grades so that I don't continue to waste my time. I don't think they're going to give us a good student discount which is a shame.
