Took part in the performance driving track day, absolutely brilliant day, learnt so many new techniques and got to see a lot more of my own cars capabilities. Excellent instruction and an all round great experience. Would highly recommend

The Team from CAT was very kind and professional, we loved to spent the 3 days together with them - Instructions where perfect with a very good feeling for the important points. We can take out a lot of benefits - not only for the track. Kind regards Marcel & Vivianne

Advanced road core skills course with Steve,
I wanted to improve my road craft and get more from the car without doing the full test track course, The course starts by you explaining what you want with the instructor, then the morning session was assessment and improvements, afternoon was practice and beginning to explore vehicle dynamics. Steve was very knowledgeable, explained things clearly, and I would thoroughly recommend the course

I always love spending time and getting training at CAT driver training, so when I went back for a follow up after my first training session in January, I was really looking forward to showing Colin how much I had improved so we could move onto the next step. Colin is such a gentleman, and he is so encouraging and knows how to extract the best out of you in the car. I really do feel so much more confident after my training with him, and I can see how to use the skills Iv learnt and put them into practise in my own race car on the race track. I came away from the day feeling elated, having just thrown the CAT Mondeo around the outer handling circuit with gusto and confidence to get to the grip limits and feel the car sliding around under me, it was fab! Jo was also, as always, the perfect host. I always look forward to her and Colins welcoming, smiley faces! Until next time, thank you both again for a fantastic day!

Having driven track days for many years, I had reached a plateau in terms of what I could teach myself or gain from the usual instruction over a few laps at most track days.
I wanted to learn some of the more advanced track driving techniques, such as race braking, trail braking, left foot braking, etc. to improve my speed and car control. CAT took an holistic approach to my objectives, applying a combination of repeatable process, discussion of the theory and engineering principles that underpin the techniques, and repetition of exercises to get comfortable with the practical application.
I left the day feeling very well informed on these techniques, and crucially that I had a solid foundation in these new techniques that I could apply in future.
Paul and the team are very approachable, consultative and extremely knowledgeable. They are also refreshingly humble about their immense talents!
Whilst there is not an inconsiderable outlay for the day, I feel I have gained far more value in terms of confidence and control than I would have by investing in yet more go-faster bits!

Not my first day with Cat driver training and Colin which tells you the value I got from the first day, new car this time round and was fantastic to explore the limits and understand the engineering behind why it behaves the way it does. Allowed me to see the capability of the car which is way greater than I had imagined - I'll be back again!

I knew I didn't know much, if anything, about handling the car at the grip limit but the performance driver course with Paul on 9th November was a complete eye opening experience on how much there is to grasp. In a single day I've learned more about things like braking properly, steering while ABS-braking, steering at speed and etc., than I've learned in the last 20+ years of driving on the roads (which makes sense because there's no real opportunity to try these things out safely on public roads at motorway speeds anyway), plus much more.
What I didn't expect (and greatly enjoyed) was that Paul provided digested engineering background for what is happenning with the tyres, suspension and the rest of the car (I've learned what 'unsprung' means :) ) before each of the exercises so I could start connecting what I 'felt' the car do to what's physically happenning. I don't think I would have ever picked up many of these things just by reading / watching what's in the popular media, regardless of how good some of it is.
I feel this gives me excellent foundation to start learning to handle the car on the track and have much more fun. That is, if I figure out a way around my motion sickness problem :)

An excellent day of tuition with an extraordinarily skilled instructor whose car control was unsurpassed. I learnt quite a few new skills which hopefully will improve my driving on a variety of race circuits.

I signed up for the Performance Driving Course with CAT after wanting to develop my all round driving abilities and start doing some track days in 2020. The course itself surpassed my expectations by a mile. Paul's clear and tailored guidance helped me to understand why the car reacts to different inputs, having the confidence to feel for the limits and what to do when you go past them. As previous reviews have stated. You'll learn more in one day than however many years you've been driving previously. I'll definitely be back for more soon.

I recently spent a day with CAT participating in the Performance Driver "Track" Day at Millbrook. It was an excellent driving experience and a most enjoyable day. The team are friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They also keep you safe. For me the most interesting aspect of the day were the engineering explanations on why vehicles perform as they do particularly at high speed. A great day.

I had just bought (well, contract hired) a 19 plate BMW M2 Competition and wanted to know how to properly use the car and understand its limits. I got googling and discovered CAT Driver Training. The service from start to finish has been excellent.
The site is epic and really has to be experienced to be believed.
Paul was simply fantastic in his approach to teaching. Very calm, patient and extremely knowledgeable; being able to put a mechanical/physics based explanation to everything that I experienced, or what the car was doing in all situations.
Paul took me around the handling track on arrival and scared me at the pace he got the car around the track. I was adamant i wouldn't be able to do that. Well, by the end of the day I was and across 3 laps my splits were within 0.6 seconds! I will most certainly be returning for more training. CAT have spurred on a real love for performance driving and I look forward to bolstering my skill set before going on some track days and who knows, maybe take the steps into getting a race Licence.
All round 5*, id give it 10* if I could. Highly recommend. Hats off CAT!! Wills.

From the first phone call to Lynne and the last goodbye from Jo, Colin and Paul the day was just perfect.Very well balanced mix of the technical / engineering side of driving , track craft and a large helping of good humor.Group of six from PCGB (Cheers Phil) split in the two smaller groups spent the day finding out what our cars are really made of.Can't fault the day with CAT DT.and everybody left with a new level of confidence weather a seasoned track day driver or a Sunday morning cruiser.Colin and Paul will put you at ease from the start and carry on at your pace,Millbrook is the purfect setting for the CAT driving program and you will leave a better and more aware driver.

I thought I could drive a car, but after a day with Colin at Cat Driver Training, I learnt more in 8hrs than I have in the last 30years..
Braking techniques on the mile straight at 100mph started the day. This is something I never thought I would have to do, but with Colin the voice of calm next to you, it all passes without a hitch. Now my understanding of ABS and braking at speed sets me up to be so much more confident on daily driving..
Taking the car on to the 2 mile oval bowl and driving in in lane 5 at 120mph, again with Colin keeping everything simple, allows you to understand the art of driving whilst looking ahead..
We then have a lesson on oversteer and understeer... fun fun fun. This was my Top Gear moment..again not something you would do normally, but seeing how the car reacts with ABS on, then off, let’s you understand your car so much more..
Moving on to the Handling circuit to learn Cornering techniques gives you your Lewis Hamilton moment. Colin makes you put the days training in to practice to get the car around the track most efficiently.. late braking, controlled acceleration, looking ahead..
Like I said at the start.. “You think you can drive a car” think again..
This day with Colin is something that should be compulsory with new drivers to give an understanding of safe driving techniques..
If you have a performance car, do yourself a favour.. have a day at CAT Driver Training to understand the limits of your car in a safe environment with a fantastic instructor ..

In November I took the half day performance driving training course and skid pan course. And what can I say? It was probably the best day of my life! I was beaming for about two weeks after. We were laughing the whole day and I learnt an immense amount of knowledge. I’ve gained confidence in my driving skills and discovered what my car can really do. Colin is an excellent teacher. Before I arrived I had visions of it going wrong and my car spinning into a ditch, I was nervous. But all of that was forgotten as soon as I sat behind the wheel. Colin puts you at ease, he’s a very knowledgable man with a life time of experience. He adapts his teaching skills to suit the way you learn, and won’t move on to the next step until you feel confident and ready. We really did have tremendous fun this day, and two months on, I’m still thinking about the skills he taught me every time I sit behind the wheel. I highly recommend CAT Driver Training to any skill level from novice to advanced, and especially if you love driving and want to build on your skills... you won’t be disappointed. I will definitely be signing up do to more training this year.

This was one of my best days for driving my car. Colin was a great co-pilot and very knowledgeable. He helped me hone my driving skills with great patience in a humorous and friendly way. I will be returning for additional training at some point. The team were all friendly and helpful providing food and drinks during the day. I highly recommend this day if you would like to explore the capability of your car and improve your use and enjoyment of it. Can not recommend more highly.

An excellent day which I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more about their car and become a better driver.
The CAT team were excellent and looked after us really well.

I have left feeling a lot more confident in my ability to deal with challenging situations and appreciate my cars ability to deal with them.

This was by far the best driver training I’ve received. The combination of engineering explanation with practical one to one demonstrations was second to none.
The day was highly organised, skilfully put together and was also great fun.
Can’t recommend the Cat team highly enough - a real professional team with a light touch.
Will definitely be going back for more!!

Just completed a day with Colin at Millbrook. It was outstanding and completely exceeded my expectations. We started on the 1-mile straight with threshold braking in the wet. Then the high-speed loop with lane changes and car balance, followed by some work on how the aerodynamics improve with speed. Pit stop for great lunch. Then trail braking etc on the handling circuit and the alpine loop. Colin was able to explain the concepts and then instruct and coach me through turning them into practice. And to top that, he's great company, too. Thanks should also go to Jo for making all of the arrangements. Go on, treat yourself... you'll love it!

A great four hours sat next to Paul as it not only did it show me what the car was capable of and why, but also what I was doing right (and not quite so right a couple of times).
A great environment to be in as one minute a £200k Aston or a 180mph Roller SUV were coming past me and the next we were behind a dustbin lorry or a Biogas fuelled double decker.
Got home and had to have a sleep on the sofa.
Excellent trip.

I’ve just completed the half day optimisation course with Colin having already done the full day performance driver training. The course and tuition were excellent and if anyone is serious about wanting to learn to drive better or go to the track then theses course are what you need. The training and facilities are safe and secure and the driver instruction is brilliant. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
