But her eyesight and longer term memory was still good.
With our family well dispersed over Europe, she had a hard time to get in
contact during these moments that she was lucid.
I built her a little box to send an invitation to a person she wanted to speak to
by simply dropping a picture of that person on the box.
Hence 'Fotofoon' (in Netherlands), what could be translated as 'Photo phone'...
The box then starts a video chat session on a large screen, and sends an SMS and an email to that person with a link (URL). Clicking on that links
makes that person enter the session with her.
Unfortunately my mother died too soon to test it out, but it is now in test
with my godmother of 98 years !
I had a hard time figuring out the SMS part, until I discovered ClickSend
via a friend of mine. They were very friendly and professional in
helping me implementing their code in my Python program code, and their
chat support employees are doing a great job with quick response.
I am just a very small customer, but that was not noticeable in their support !
