Last update: Worked like a champ right out of the box. Except the FSB jumper i had to set. nice heatsink, packaging etc. Will def order from again. Overall an excellant exp. Thumbs up.
The good:
Worked (other than FSB jumper) Right out of the box. No issues with missing anything. All items included.
Customer service was nice. And spoke clear, correct english. (odd thats considered a good thing)
Customer service worked with me on getting what they call a "windows xp compatable motherboard"
Everything was included in the box.
Undamaged, well packed shiping.
Obviously very new. No thumbprints, scratches, or marks.
They have low prices.
Fan was new, in retail box, and included. Its also rated for a faster processor.
The bad:
They should automatically send "xp compatable" boards.
Auto deselect available options when you order.
Ship a *bit* faster, and dont call to offer "upgrades" or anything else (providing they dont send you junk) , personally it just gets under my skin.
Again overall thumbs up.
Hope this review helps potential customers.
Same problem. Sent the CPU back to compubuzz.
They received it on 12/5 and I didn't hear back from them. I posted another tech request on their website (seems to be the only way to get a hold of them). They claim the CPU runs fine (I tried it in two mobos, a PCI and AGP video card, two different sticks of RAM.
So, they asked what I wanted to do with it and I replied back the same day telling them to send it back to me.
I have not heard back from them since then and still don't have my CPU.
Come to find out, it wasn't shipped on 6/27...It was on backorder. Was I notified of this? Nope. Was I told this on the phone when I called about 5 times last week (And talked to someone each time)? Nope.
Was I lied to twice? Yep. Did a woman take my name and number and tell me she would call me back in fifteen minutes? Yep. Did she? Nope. Has my package status been updated on their website since 6/26 (One day after I ordered the product)? Nope.
Good news is: The guy I spoke with today assured me that it was in stock right now and that it would ship today. Will it? I doubt it. He also said that they will upgrade my shipping to 2 day or something. Will it matter? Nope. Why? Because I have a feeling they won't ship it for another 2-3 days anyways...
This isn't necessarily a bad review for compubuzz....yet. But if I don't have my purchase by Wednesday (AT THE LATEST)..then I will be doing quite a bit of complaining. That's 2 weeks after I ordered it, and almost a week after I theoretically SHOULD have received it.
To their defense, they did make a big move the week before last..and i'm sure some of that carried over to last week as well. But there's no excuse for not informing me of the status on my purchase...especially when they already took $400 off my credit card.
Hell, I even received a tracking number from Colorcases today..something I didn't think would happen.
Compubuzz, i'm keeping my fingers crossed that I will receive my motherboard and processor tomorrow (As I said to upgrade my shipping to overnight)...or wednesday at the latest. Please please please get it to me!
After a couple of days, I began to have random lock ups. I tried 2 other processors, with no problems. So, I called customer service for an RMA. I was told I had to get one from the web site. I tried to sign in for over an hour, but never could. Even tried setting up a new account, but no go.
Called customer service the next day. I explain what happened, and the techs answer is" Thats never happened before. I don't know what was wrong, but clearly your doing something wrong". Then with a heavy sigh, he takes down my info, and says he will call back in 2 hours with an RMA.
No return call. I send a couple of e mails, no reply.
Call tech again. Again, a totally bored tech who gives the attitude that I am bothering him. Again leave my info, and am told I get the RMA in 2 hours, and he hangs up.
This took 3 e mails, 3 phone calls and 1 months time to rectify.
The total lack of customer service is what really got to me. I will never do business with them again.
