Ordered items on the Monday before new years (new years was on Thursday).. Immediately asked a question via email (they do not allow phone contact).. Other than the automated order response emails I received immiediatly, I received no response to numerous emails until Jan. 6th.. Still have yet to receive one item, and upon asking about that item, was told Jan 7 that it was a special item and was leaving that day.. Item did not actually leave until Jan 13th, due for delivery Jan 16th.. Items were priced good, and I realize I placed the order during a holiday period, the lack of communication, and lousy/long time for delivery will make me reluctant to purchase there again...

Ordered on Jan 13th. My card was charged on the same day. The order did not ship until 3 days based on the tracking info. Tracking info was for some other order not mine. To date (Jan 23rd) the order has not arrived. They did not respond to my email request for status until I threated to call me credit card company. I'm still waiting for a status! My credit card company will get a call Monday to reverse the charge. DO NOT ORDER FROM DISCOUNTMARINESUPPLIES.COM. YOU WILL NOT GET A RESPONSE BY PHONE OE BY EMAIL. PATHETIC SERVICE!

Placed a small test order because of all the bad reviews but received everything I ordered, received it very quickly, and was charged very reasonable postage unlike a ton of other retailers that charge a bunch of $$ for shipping to Hawaii (should cost almost the same as shipping to Calif.) or don't ship here at all..
Sea dog and Sea choice high quality parts, and made in the USA. I will try them again.

i ordered a product from Discount Marine Supplies. Credit card was charged. They sent me a different brand, inferior and cheaper product made by a different manufacturer and sold on their site for much less. They have charged me for the better product but sent me the cheapo. They refuse to answer my emails and they have no phone number for customer service. Customer Service is nonexistent. If you are on this site it is probably too late, but please don't be fooled. This is a scam company. at least a company with horrible business ethics and perfectly willing to rip off customers.

Bought two piling lights from this vendor. One was obviously used, had scratches, fading/discoloring, rattled inside and did not work. The other looked okay, but only worked for 3 days, then died. I asked to return and replace with actual new lights that work. They sent two more defective lights, one obviously used with a chip in it. DO NOT PURCHASE from Discount Marine Supplies.

I placed an order for a marine product with Discount Marine Supplies, supposedly located at
410 Reading Ave, West Reading, PA 19611. A person by the name of Allison Gray ([email protected]) most likely a fake name contacted me via email and advised that this product was currently not available at the manufacturer and was on back order. I contacted the distributor and was advised that this product was available in plenty supplies and there were no back-orders. My emails to "Ally Gray" got no responses, which triggered my curiosity. Since, I'm law enforcement, I initiated my own investigation and determined that this business is not legitimate. I canceled my order immediately. More to follow later!

I ordered a product from Discount Marine Supplies and then read the reviews. Bad practice I know and I was concerned as to what the outcome might be. I shouldn't have worried though because as one of the other reviewers said, the article arrived early, exactly as described and I am very pleased with the price. They kept me informed with tracking and shipping information all the way. I couldn't be more satisfied. I will definitely order again from this company if the need arises.

I recently purchased 2 pole Attwood Pole holder bases for my boat. I choose the type by the picture shown on the site. I was sent something completely different. Upon contacting Discount Marine (by email, doesn't give a direct contact number), I was sent an accusing reply by the person handling the purchase order, one Christian Grey. I don't know if he owns the retailing business he claims he's been with for 15 yrs., but he is rude and repeatedly insulting. In numerous email conversations with this individual, he repeatedly and rudely implies that how I, as the customer is at fault. I requested a return shipping label so I could return them for a refund, that was going on 2 weeks ago. He now claims he is refunding my money and that, as far as he is concerned, I can throw the incorrect items in the ocean. I finally read reviews of others dealing with this person, the majority, echoing my same experience. What few positive reviews I read, were probably by him (or someone directed by him) just to refute the overall negativity of the reviews on his business. Don't deal with this guy!

Ordered some Shields hose, box of hose clamps, and 2 marelon fittings on Jan 5th. Order arrived on the 18th and the marelon fittings had the female threads instead of the male threads I ordered. I double checked the original invoice to confirm that I'd ordered the correct fittings.
The order confirmation said that they normally shipped the same day and if there was a problem they would get back to me. My order wasn't shipped until the 8th. The 3 to 5 day shipping turned out to be 10 days.
From beginning to end this was a bad transaction and I've lost confidence in this retailer. Hopefully other consumers will have better luck.

I was hesitant at first because of other reviews. I went ahead and ordered and was VERY satisfied. Great price, immediate shipment, and the item was as described.

I then made another purchase. Same results.

I placed an order for some marine hose on March 1. I haven't heard a word from this Company. My emails aren't returned. My voicemails aren't returned. Of course they billed my credit card right away. The website seems to get constant updates however to lure people in so someone is watching it. Sometimes there's a phone number. Sometimes not. Today there isn't. This is not a reputable business and should be shut down.

“We ship same day if your order is received by 2PM”. - FALSE. I ordered on Monday and my order shipped on Wednesday. I received it the following Monday.

“If your item is out of stock, we’ll ship you something anyway” should be their motto. When it arrived on Monday it was a different brand of paint and a different gloss.

“We’ll ship you a return label.” That was eight days ago. No emails since then and no response to the voice mail I left on their Customer Service mail box.

A bad company that appears to be only interested in getting your order and your payment.

Ordered on 4/10, inquired again on 4/20, was told Mr. Cristian Gray would check with shipping and get back to me right away....... Inquired AGAIN on 4/24, no reply. Started a dispute with PayPal, and received a pointed email from Mr. Gray stating I was told they didn’t have my complete order for shipment, and that I probably “didn’t see the email”. I didn’t see it because it wasn’t sent. I was then told that he would approve my dispute so I can fill my order somewhere satisfactory to me. Well, it’s 5/4, and PayPal is still awaiting a response from the seller.......... long story short, spend the extra $7 for whatever you’re buying, and buy it from a reputable business.

What a joke of a business.

What a ****, sent to wrong address, I re-mailed it,,,cost me $9.50 and Mr. Gray could not afford to pay me back for forwarding his product. I think the business is ran out of a house with one person,,,,,JOKE & Crook,,,,do not use this company,,,if yo0u can call it a business

Ordered a muffler, 2nd day shipping an extra $29.99. Next day received tracking information, would be delivered a week later. When I called, goes straight to voicemail and no one ever calls you back. Send email message and was told that they mail it in 2 days, but aren't responsible for what UPS does with it after that. Ended up purchasing item from another seller to get it next day. So we needed to return the item, well, that another whole story, you can't put any labels on the original box, need to either put it in a new box or wrap the package. We are talking about a muffler, needless to say we were able to wrap it in brown paper which FedEx and UPS won't take se shipped USPS, They don't pay for return postage, so cost over $36 to return mail. We were told we would get a refund on the $29.99 postage as well as the cost of the muffler. Finally after 2 more phone calls, also going straight to voicemail, and several more threatening email exchange, we were refunded to cost of the muffler and the postage of $29.99 so are still out the $36+ for return postage. We should have checked out the other reviews before dealing with this company. Never again!

Ordered a round life preserver needed it by a certain date for a pond party paid extra for 2 day shipping. Get tracking info 2 days after purchase will arrive in 7 days. Wont answer their e-mails either. Wish i would have read the reviews before i ordered from this so called business.

I ordered online and paid via Paypal, the sea strainers were in stock and way cheaper than anywhere else. I was concerned because I did not get an email confirmation. I contacted then thru email and was told to check my spam folder, sure enough the confirmation was there. A few days later I got my strainers. A-OK in IMO!

I would have NEVER ordered any merchandise from Discount Marine Supplies if I had read these reviews first. Now I am glad I did not.

I ordered a Groco check valve and two hose barbs on December 27th. My AmEx card was charged the very same day (this cost them 1 star in my review.) My order was picked up by the USPS one week later on January 3rd as per the USPS tracking number (this cost them a second star.) The Post Office in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, held my package for 5 days before it finally arrived in Reading, Pennsylvania on January 8th. Once the package left Reading it FLEW to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and I have it in my hand on January 10th.

Here is the final result of my order with DMS. I received exactly what I had ordered. I paid about half of what I would have paid for the check valve (I did not check prices for the hose barbs.) The check valve is hard to locate and I am glad to have it in hand at a great price. I think Amazon has spoiled us with immediate shipment and world class customer service. When I place my next order with DMS I will remember that I am ordering from a small supplier and will take that into consideration.

Bottom line – I will order from them again with the understanding that I may never be able to return the merchandise to them based on these reviews, but I will take that chance.
