After being a good $1000.00 repeat customer over the past few years, I had an issue with my most recent purchase. Before I opened the box, I contacted customer service. I might have been ok with their response if they had been truthful with me, but the customer service person outright lied to me to make her case better. I then opened the box and found that the item was also defective and did not work. If you deal with this vendor you might get lucky and get a good item. However, if there is an issue or a problem I am confident that you will not be happy with their customer service. I know that I will no longer be one of their customers. I also have stopped referring people to them. I feel that my reputation is at stake also. I don't want to be in a position where I have referred a friend to a company that will do them wrong.

I purchased a Great Northern Red Antique popcorn machine from Discount Tommy. The popper was delivered and shipped really fast. They even helped me with questions on how to set it up! I couldn't be happier with my fancy popcorn machine and the great service I received. Even saved a few hundred dollars off retail. Five stars all the way!

Placed an order (Stove Top Popcorn Popper) on Monday (1/7) and selected the "FedEx Home Delivery" option since that would get it to me before the weekend (when I needed it). It even shows the FHD on my receipt. When it was shipped, I noticed the tracking info listed the service as the slow-as-molasses FedEx SmartPost. Emailed them to ask why it was changed, and they gave some lame reason about "they determine the shipping method based on the weight". WTH? What happened to ME selecting the shipping method? No where did it say anything about that beforehand. Now, 9 days later, it's finally showing as scheduled for delivery on 1/18.

10 days? Really? I get stuff from China in that amount of time!

I certainly won't be ordering from them again. It's not worth saving a dollar or two when you need something in less than 2 weeks.

I ordered the Red Princeton 8oz popcorn maker to take to a copmpany trade show. It wouldn't even get hot enough to pop the popcorn and the gears kept jumping apart from each other. Discount Tommy wanted to send me parts so that I could repair the defects. I sent the machine and popcorn (a $293 order)back to them at my expense of $89.98 for a total of $382 and all they credited my card was $ 164. This was the worst online purchase I've ever made in my life. I would never ever do business with this company again.

I ordered an in-wall safe on Monday. Although the price was great, they charged no FedEx shipping. It was shipped the next morning. I knew what was happening every step. I had it by Thursday, as promised! So let's review

I purchased 65W Compact Fluorescent photo bulbs. Seller claims each is equivalent to a 300W incandescent bulb. They’re not.

I informed the seller. His response was that I could send them back but lose 20% in restocking fees plus there would be no shipping refund. I declined, citing my unhappiness in forfeiting nearly $20.00 and stating that I would leave feedback praising the quick shipping but commenting on the sub par quality of the bulb. I left neutral feedback. Seller posted the following negative feedback in response: “Terrible! Buyer makes false claims--we have 100% satisfaction guarantee!”

Let’s look at ‘claims’…

My claim was based on measurements with a calibrated light meter. I tested the seller’s bulbs against 200W, 100W and 60W incandescents. All three were brighter than his CFLs, but the CFLs were close enough to the 60W.

So, there’s one of the seller’s claims proved false.

Another – the seller claims 100% positive feedback. He clearly doesn’t (and not just due to my neutral comment).

And more – Seller claims the following: ‘We have 100% satisfaction guarantee’, ‘We will do everything to meet your needs’ & ‘Your satisfaction is our #1 priority’.

I waited 18 days before posting feedback. Knowing my unhappiness, the seller had plenty of time to make good on these claims, yet he didn’t.

Potential buyers, be aware.

And Tommy – a Big Thumbs DOWN to you for your business practices and ‘cookie-cutter’ negative feedback comment!!!

On May 7, 2015 I ordered a supposedly new Paragon 7801 Electronic Digital Lock and Safe . As soon as the safe arrived, I not only found a small dent on top of the safe but it also did not come with its original box. Inside of the safe there was some rust-like substance and the safe itself apparently had no series number on it (it was not on the product page online either). I suspected that the seller had "accidentally" given me one of their used items (I repeat I wanted a brand new product), so I contacted them a few times and asked them SPECIFICALLY about the safe's condition. Even though they replied to my emails, not once did they even say a word about the product's condition itself. I told them I wasn't happy about the product's condition....because it was damaged and obviously not brand new. And when I wanted to return it because of my obvious dissatisfaction, the seller refused to send me a return shipping label. Discount Tommy is disgustingly unprofessional, dishonest, and disrespectful to their customers. Please be aware of this seller when you are ordering any products from them. You might not get what you pay for.

We have discovered that this business has SSL (secure sockets layer), which means that this business handles your data, such as personal information or credit card details, with secure connection. We found that the domain for this business is older than two years which could be an indication that this is a trustworthy business with an established customer base and experience in their field.
