I am very disappointed! I searched for bilingual kids' books on abebooks, and specified Spanish (so I wouldn't get Urdu or German, which exist too). . Discover Books posted "Ada MagnÃfica y los pantalones peligrosos / Ada Twist and the Perilous Pants (Los Preguntones / The Questioners) (Spanish Edition)" and I read the review of the book on a kids' book site, and decided it was just right for a niece who is starting a Spanish immersion kindergarten.
The book came quickly -- but it is Spanish only! I have no idea why they listed it in as both, but it doesn't reflect the truth at all. Returnng it would cost about what I paid, so, I will donate it to an organization that gives out books, so a Spanish family can get it. I sure wouldn't ever buy from them again!

After purchasing several books, I was refunded a SMALL portion of the amount paid. There was no communication, & I received only a portion of what should have been refunded. They still have my money, & refuse to refund the rest of the money owed.

I bought a bunch of books from discover books not every book they sent me was wrong title but I got a couple over the year wrong and also they send books that have ripped pages I also received a book they had a ripped front cover which to me is unacceptable I would tell you to buy your books elsewhere when buying on eBay or Amazon or any other sites that you see is by discover books the book that I bought it from them was called sleeping beauty by Walt Disney mouse works and this is what they sent me instead this is not what I ordered this is why I'm making a big deal of this issue

I've ordered from them many times. I always order with a coupon so I get amazing prices on books I would otherwise never find. I can spend a lazy afternoon in the hammock just perusing the listings. I've given them feedback on a category of books I routinely search for, but would get mixed in with other books I DON'T want. (The words are similar.) They fixed that for me. Now I can search for my desired category and not be floored by 1000 off-topic books. Have never been let down.

Fast shipping, accurate, all good here. The negative reviews almost scared me away. But I might not buy form them again anyway because it sounds like they have failed many times. Anyway, as for me, everything looks great. I'm happy I got to save money on this book :D

Every time i purchase books from this website never get my full order. They do refund the amount of the book missing but never ask if you still want the order after realizing they dont have the book/books you ordered. Its really frustrating.

Deliver defective merchandise. Express regret when this is pointed out. Then make it as hard as possible to get a refund. Demand multiple sets of photos. Each nitwit who answers your email has clearly not read PREVIOUS emails. One nitwit says, "Just donate the defective merchandise. Warm regards!" But when one asks when to expect refund, next nitwit asks for return of item. They are the WORST online merchant with whom I have ever dealt. They are either crooks or mental defectives. Or both. I only regret ZERO STARS is not an option. Avoid them like the PLAGUE or you are in for the waste of time of your LIFE.

6 times in a row, a Discoverbooks.com store listed on Abebooks a book as being one of the leather bound books from the Franklin Library. ALL 6 times I received something else! This is pure FRAUD!

I just called and was on hold for six minutes even though I was first in line. I'll buy the book on Amazon.

I bought a textbook from the website and in 8 days it came and in pretty good condition. Good purchase!

I bought a book on Dec 5th. The package arrived on December 23rd which is a long time but within their 14 business days as they say. BUT the book I received was not the book I ordered. Not even the right genre. And also too late to buy it somewhere else for Christmas. I wrote to customer service and they said they’d refund me and that’s it. Worst customer service ever. Not even a coupon code to buy the same book in the future when it comes back in stock??? Super lame. Totally unreliable. You may or may not receive what you order.. shop elsewhere.
EDIT: someone from Discover Books did reach out after I wrote this review and I appreciate that. I’m still waiting for my refund but that often takes several days I know. Editing stars from 1 to 3, as sometimes stuff happens and they did try to fix it as best they can.

I came across discoverbooks.com about a year ago and decided to try them out. Since then I have ordered several more times with no issues. Their prices are very good, their selections are extensive, and books usually arrive in advance of when expected. I also am glad to support an organization that donates books and keeps them out of landfills. I highly recommend discoverbooks.com. Let the Stories Live On.

I ordered 3 craft books and I received them yesterday. The books are in very good condition. One books description said it came with stencils and I was surprised to find they were all still with the book and in excellent condition. I will definitely order from Discover Books again.

I've been ordering books from Discover for several years now, and they're the first place I look when I'm searching for used books. Their prices are lower than most. I've found them to be accurate about the condition. I've had one occasion where they sent me something that was completely different from what I had ordered. When I emailed them, they promptly refunded my money and told me to donate the book locally. On two other occasions an item I ordered was not available and they again promptly refunded my account. I notice some reviewers complain about the speed of service. As someone who's been ordering used books for many years, I can say this is what it is. If you want two day delivery you know where you have to go and what you have to pay.

Ordered a book on 02-21 and was informed that it could take up to 14 days to receive it. Today being the 15 days I called them and was told that I was refunded the money on 02-25 without any notice to me, no email, no phone call to let me know that they screwed up or didn't have the book.

SO, I waited like a fool for 2 weeks for a book that would never come anyway. Clearly Discover Books is the definition of a very awful customer service. In fact one could argue their customer service is non-existant. A simple phone call from Discover Books to me after I ordered to let me know that they couldn't meet their end of the deal would have done it. No they couldn't even do that.

I needed this book on the date it was supposed to be delivered because it is a required text book for a class. Again they screwed me over since they wasted my time for nothing and said nothing to forewarned me so I could have ordered the book elsewhere. I won't be ordering from this company ever again because obviously they don't care whether they fulfill their end of the deal or not.

If you are not on a schedule or don't care whether you get the book you are promised and don't care whether there is some useful interaction with a responsible company customer service, I suppose you can order from them, just be aware you are dealing with an unreliable and unprofessional company.

Ordered 10 books and they all arrived within two weeks which is amazing for the current pandemic we're facing, all the books were in good condition, no writing in them, THANK YOU!
