We did a 13 day trip with DSA from Calama in Chile to Cusco in Peru. I had a rough idea what I wanted to visit and Heather turned my ideas into a wonderful trip. Many hotels and transfers and flights and all went like clockwork. Everything was prepaid and the hotels excellent. I doubt we could have done this trip for less if we had booked and planned it ourselves.

Highly recommend Discover South America to put together your South American adventure. Very knowledgeable and professional company that can be trusted to deliver great service. Our Peruvian adventure included the 4 day Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, time in Cusco and 4 days in the Amazon Rainforest. The companies DSA used were all very professional with great knowledge of the area and history of the region. Very well organised and structured too ensure that our adventure ran smoothly. Well done and thank you!

Heather has extensive knowledge of South America and she arranged the order of our trip to ensure we made the best use of our time. We discussed our preferences for Hotels and she arranged some wonderful places to stay, along with amazing room upgrades. Prices compared much more favourably than other well known companies and everywhere we went people we met were in awe of our itinerary and where we had stayed! We hope to go to South America again and would definitely use Discover South America .

We used this company and dealt with a lady called Heather who very patiently worked with us to create the perfect itinerary for our trip to Peru, Machu Picchu trek and the Amazon jungle. She had excellent knowledge of the areas and was able to offer us many different options and insight into some of the do's and dont's. Our trip went without a hitch of any kind and we would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering this kind of trip. Customer service was second to none - outstanding.

We came across Discover South America on Google when looking for a company to book our Machu Picchu trek with. After speaking to Heather on the phone and explaining the others things we wanted to do/see on our trip, she custom made an itinerary for us throughout Peru and Bolivia. Everything was arranged to the last detail including all hotel bookings and transfers which made the the whole trip seamless. After a missed flight to get to our original destination, Heather managed to re book our hotel for the next night and change our connecting flights accordingly, all while in Ecuador herself! We had the most wonderful trip and I would highly recommend DSA to anyone looking to book a trip in South America. We will certainly be using them again for our next adventure!

We used Discover South America to plan a 4 day trek to Machu Picchu followed by a weeks beach holiday to Cancun.
Our agent Heather planned it meticulously, answering all our concerns promptly by email and providing first hand advice on Peru in general. When one of the companies changed the flight schedules she rearranged our itinerary to make it work best for us.
Once there things went without a hitch. The hotels she booked for us were excellent and in ideal locations.
All in all would highly recommend this company. Very professional and helpful service with a wealth of inside experience of South America.
Would definitely use again when we return

We looked at several tour companies when researching our South American holiday but Heather at Discover South America turned out to be absolutely the right choice for us. From her own personal experience she was able to create an itinerary that included all our requests and the choice of hotels was excellent.
She was always contactable by email or by phone and dealt with all our requests and queries promptly and efficiently. Prior to our departure she provided us with all the details of flights, hotels, reps and telephone numbers, a detailed itinerary and advice on what to take.
The representatives of all the tour companies used in South America were always there to meet us at the airport, to arrange transfers and provide guided tours of the places that we visited.
The guides, whether in a small group or our own personal guides, were excellent. They were knowledgeable, informative, passionate about their country and spoke very good English and did much to enhance our appreciation of the places that we visited.
We had a fantastic holiday and if we were to return to South America we would have no hesitation at all in using the services of Heather at Discover South America.

Our personalised trip through Peru was excellently organised by Heather, at Discover South America who took on board our specific requirements and created a programme that absolutely suited us. It was really good to meet Heather in person to go through the trip and to explain all the different aspects; the pick ups, the tour details and the different people and local companies that we would be dealing with.

Heather from Discover South America put together a tailor made package for me from the list of things I had said I would love to see and do in Peru. She made the PERFECT trip for me and everything was absolutely wonderful! Transfers, hotels, guides, everything was so perfectly arranged that although I was travelling alone I did not feel alone at all, I felt safe and always well looked after but also completely free to really enjoy myself. I will never forget my trip to Peru, thanks to Heather and Discover South America it was a trip of a lifetime...

We were a group of 7 from Hong Kong & this was the first time we went to South America, planning a 16D/15N trip to Chile, Bolivia & Peru. We had chose Discover South America UK ("DSA") as our land operator cos we saw some good comments from the web-site. Thus DSA was not the cheapest operator but we still pick this company.

It proved that our choice was correct. Before the trip, DSA responded quickly to our questions. As a land operator, DSA required to arrange all the transfers, hotels & tours. The company picked high standard local tour operators, e.g. Latitud 90 in Chile, Transturin in Bolivia. The local tour guides were professional & took good care of us. Refer to the hotels, they chose the best hotels within our budget range & suit our requirements: located in downtown except for some remote areas. They are in safe areas so that we felt free to walk around in the evening. We all enjoyed the trip very much.

We would like to thanks Jackie Jones & Heather MacBrayne for the arrangement! We have no hesitation to recommend this tour operator to our friends!

Jackie and Heather at Discover South America did an amazing job of putting together our 6 week adventure. Their knowledge and experience was invaluable and they were always quick to respond to any e-mail questions. If you want a fantastic holiday I highly recommend Discover South America.

Positives:
Lovely hotels - Rio Sagardo, Sumaq, Casa Castelana and Belmond Miraflores;
Very helpful over XMas week end when flights got cancelled / delayed.

Negatives:
Guides' English was only average,
Machu Pichu guide was not traceable for 35 minutes,
Aguas Calinetes meet and greet was a disaster (wanted to put us on the bus, when the itinerary called for lunch on arrival),
Bad car at Lima,
Poor advisory on limited luggage for Amazon trip (we could take our normal suitcases), the need to take torches (the resort provides), and no advisory to not change money at airport (rates in city much better),
LAN seems a better airline than Avianca.

Jackie did an amazing job at organising our trip to Peru, Iguacu falls and Rio. The trip itself was absolutely fantastic and Jackie's help made the experience run smoothly. We are two 19 year olds and so having our activities, transport and accommodation pre-planned made us feel much safer as well as saving us organising time. Would highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time traveling through Peru and Ecuador. Aside from the mountains and oceans which were both absolutely rejuvenating, I must say that the hotel in Cusco was a sparkling highlight - best staff, food, and accommodation - and our location in São Paulo was perfect for our walks and whirlwind exploration.

All our arranged transfers made transitioning from airport to hotel so much easier.

Absolutely excellent service from first to last with Discover South America- the hotels we stayed in were first rate, the hand-picked tours were fantastic, the coordination of flights and transfers were absolutely wonderful. Heather was a terrific organiser for our trip to Peru and we had an absolutely wonderful time - the only sad part was saying goodbye!

Peru was our first trip to South America, and as such, largely unknown to us, logistically. Thus, it was vital that details were handled to a high degree of certainty, and that is what was provided to us by Discover South America. Not only were connections clear and prompt, the local guides and drivers were professional, knowledgeable, safe, entertaining and personable. Hotels were well-located and of high quality, and although we were traveling with a group of eight, these high ratings were shared by all in the group. In addition, Heather was able to adapt parts of the trip to fit individual member's interests, and customize/change aspects as we requested or found necessary. Plane flights made sense and were booked correctly, although did have four internal round trip flights once we arrived in Peru - a first of all of us. Plus, with the high altitudes, we needed days for acclimation, and those were planned for and easily accommodated. Thus, we are uniform in our 5 - star ratings, and would gladly answer questions of a more detailed nature, should that be necessary. Applause and many thank-you's to Heather and DSA.

we had a tailor made trip to Colombia,lasting 22 days in Feb 2019 It went without a hitch with excellent guides and drivers.The internal flights with Avianca were invariably late !! but the actual planes and staff OK
The country beautiful, with amazing variations. We felt very safe and found the food good and for me, especially the fruit and fish ,also the quantity far too generous. We found the Colombians to be very hospitable and anxious to please and show off their lovely country
