Easirent.com Reviews & Complaints (147)

I was unfortunate to have Kevin from Glasgow branch . He was aggressive and rude and took great pleasure in charging £570 for a tiny chip on windscreen... Which was there when we picked up the car . Myself and my 10 yr old daughter were very upset to have used Easirent . We will not forget this very unpleasant experience and will do as much as possible to let people know about this bunch of crooks in a shonky car yard in Glasgow .

I will continue using Easirent for the foreseeable future and I am looking forward to meeting Gina Again with her amiable disposition.

I hate renting a car these days. Here is yet another rip-off company. Booked a car via RyanAir (have previously had positive experiences booking via Ryan Air). Only when I am printing out the details to take with me, did I notice in the small print that they require a £1.350 deposit to be left on my credit card. This, despite contracting the full extra insurance with them. I absolutely hate these companies that put all these abusive clauses in their rental contracts. £1.350 deposit for a 2 day car hire - ridiculous,

‪Fraudulent company and horrible staff in Cork branch My wife hired a car from Easirent to return home for her father’s year anniversary of his death (Years mind) this past weekend. She arrived in Cork, Ireland fairly late Friday afternoon/evening. She was with my child who is 11 months. As such she was in quite a rush to get her out of the cold and rain and didn’t spend the time she perhaps should have done looking around the car for scratches etc. It was also very dark and the employees didn’t help very much. She proceeded to use this car to drive to inchydonney and back on Sunday. When she returned the car on Sunday the Easirent employees said that she had caused damage to the wheel. She outright denies that allegation and said she did absolutely nothing. My wife is a very honest person and would 100% own up to a scratch if she committed the offence. She was left in tears following a conversation with the staff on Sunday which is not acceptable. I rang up the Cork airport branch this morning and spoke to an Owen (wrongly spelt) who in my view was very arrogant, not the customer service I have been used to in Ireland I must say. I rang up first to say how disappointed I was that my wife was left in tears following the altercation with members from the branch but also to obtain the necessary documents to claim back from her insurance. The insurance company was very clear that we need the accident damage report, the tax invoice for what my wife was charged and the repair invoice for how much it would cost to repair (It should match the charge my wife has). Owen proceeded to tell me that they didn’t have to repair it as it was superficial damage. I said you can’t charge my wife for something you are not going to get repaired. Surely this is normal. You should only charge a customer what the repair is. He then changed his stance and said it would be 2-3 weeks before it got repaired but yet they still wouldn’t send out the reapir invoice. What I believe he is planning to do is send out the repair matrix they use to calculate the cost. This is unacceptable as I would like to see the repair cost and make sure we are only paying for the repair of the wheel my wife has been accused of damaging (Which she did not do). By not providing this info we can’t claim back on our insurance that we have been paying for. I rang up again asking for the recording of the telephone conversation as I’m willing to take this to the highest regulatory body (ECRCS or ECC-Net or BVRLA) because I think this is awful and fraudulent on behalf of the company. This is really not good enough. The fact the staff have accused my wife, made her cry when she was clearly vulnerable with a small baby, and now giving confusing statements over whether the repair will be fixed or not is unacceptable

We recently rented a car in the UK. We missed a toll and had a fixed penalty notice of £22 issued by the local authority, which the company paid. Easirent then contacted us to let us know that the situation and that they would be charging the £22 back to us, plus an additional £55 'Administration Fee' for the privilege. Yes, it is written in the rental agreement (in very fine print) that this fee applies however, in my opinion this is an absolute scandal. I called the Customer Care line to ask what is the justification for this additional charge and the rep. on the phone stated that their penalties department deal with 'hundreds of claims like this daily' and 'can't expected to work for free'. The rep. also stated that an equivalent fee for an equivalent offense in their Irish branch costs €10 (or £8.75 approximately). Suffice to say I will never deal with this company again and will make it my business to warn as many people I can to avoid Easirent.

Booked hire car via Rentalcars.com from Glasgow airport as it was cheaper to hire a car and drive to our accommodation than to get a taxi (total cost of £71 including insurance). When picking up the car, the Easirent rep tried to sell additional insurance which would reduce my excess. I explained I’ve already purchased insurance which would ‘simply refund any excess’ if I was involved in an accident. The rep said the insurance I’d purchased was difficult to get money back from and it would be better if I purchased the insurance he was trying to sell. This worked out at £120 for 3 days so more expensive than the car hire itself. I gave a firm ‘no thanks’ and then the rep started selling the fuel option. Again, a ‘no thanks’ from me. They charged a total of £1,600 on my credit card for the excess (£1,500) and fuel deposit (£100). When I returned the car, I was told it would take 3-5 days to refund the £1,600. In the end, it turned out to be 28 days. They didn’t actually take the money. It was charged as a pending transaction so my credit limit was reduced by £1,600 but no transaction was showing on my credit card. I spoke to Easirent who confirmed the refund had been proceed. I rang my bank a number of times to find out why the refund was taking so long. My bank were eventually able to find a date had been set for the refund. This was set by Easirent for 28 days after I returned the car (!). From start to finish, and for 28 days later, the whole Easirent experience is one I will never repeat. Finally, beware of reviews on rentalcars.com. I wrote a review 3 weeks ago which still hasn’t been put up. There have been other reviews put up since then which have been more positive than my review. Seems like they are filtering reviews to show only positive ones to get a higher overall score.

I've just returned a car after 8 days rental from the gatwick branch and cannot fault the experience. I chose a ford focus or similar and received a 2019 Renault Captur in immaculate condition. It had all the gadgets I could hope for - carplay, heated seats, electric dash display. The rental was £7 a day which i thought an absolute bargain and so i expected to get the hard sell on upgraded insurance when picking up the car. The man did suggest i take enhanced insurance for around £350 which i declined. He then suggested a less comprehensive for £250 which I also declined...and that was it. I've just dropped it off, no fuss, no push back. 10/10!

I arrived in Manchester from New Zealand via Frankfurt on 9th February 2020, my flight one of the many that was late or cancelled owing to storm Ciara. We waited almost an hour for the transfer bus, having phoned the office twice to tell them that we were waiting. On arrival the desk bloke asked why we were late (storm/flight/waiting for transfer bus) Apparently in the very immoral small print is a get out clause if you arrive over 59 minutes late. This allows the company to claim that they do not have your booked car anymore, but can offer you an ‘upgrade’ for £25 per day. Oh and they needed to hold £1600 on my credit card for potential damages!!! When I pointed out that I had paid extra for full cover I was told that “the full cover voucher” isn’t worth the paper that it’s printed on. I challenged that I had booked it through their own website, I was told no, it’s a separate company that have a link from the Easirent website. At this point I searched for a better option and left the office, with no car and out of pocket for a legitimate booking that I had made. I can only imagine that any positive feedback for these rogues are from friends and family as all the negative ones seem consistent with my experience. DONT DO IT.

I have used the ft. Lauderdale location in F.L., USA. This is the ONLY company i’ve Been renting from for a few years. Always the most affordable for any rental length. And they are fair. Amazing! I’ve also referred friends that were amazed by the price and cars. My last rental was last weekend, the staff was very nice and helpful as always.

I ended up with Easirent through the broker CarJet.Pickup was fairly ok apart from the usual stuff you encounter from most car hire companies; Long time waiting for shuttle bus, car I ordered wasn’t available, standard insurance that wasn’t mentioned anywhere on my rental agreement with CarJet, and the pre authorised excess deposit that was supposed to be only pre authorised and not charged to my credit card. The car was a recent model and any scratches or marks were pointed out and signed off on my myself.Returning the car was an absolute nightmare. There was a queue of disgruntled and angry customers and I knew right then and there that my pain was about to begin. An employee inspected the car for damages and insisted that there was additional marks and scratches on the car. He kept pushing a piece of paper under my nose demanding I sign admitting to the extra damage.I produced my paperwork and pointed out that those marks were already there at time of pickup. The employee then accused me of lying and actually said “Anybody could have written that”I suggested that my yellow receipt was an actual copy and told him to go find the original which he eventually did.He then wrote”No additional damage” on my receipt and told me the excess damage amount of €2200.00 would not be charged to my card. When I went to the airport for my International flight I logged on to my account and the amount had been deducted upon my arrival 4 weeks previously. Upon my return home I sent numerous emails through Manage My Booking which were unanswered.4 weeks went by and I escalated those to a Regional Manager and had two replies stating my refund had been put in the system.Four weeks later I still hadn’t received my refund and when I tried to send another enquiry and was unable to because my maximum number of complaints had been reached and there would be no more communication until one of the previous cases was resolved! A bit hard when they don’t answer you to begin with. Upon reading reviews it would seem that my experience is not unique and people are being scammed every day.Avoid this company like the plague.

My rental was a nuisance from the begging. The car had malfunctions like broken handles that the agent didn't mind mentioning them to me so if I wasn't cautious enough I would be charged for it as the report indicated perfect condition of the car. The icing on the cake was that even if I returned the car 3 hours earlier from the designated time because of a scratch on a tyre I got charged a £200 penalty. The problem is that I wanted to take the car and change the tyre but they didn't let me go as of course they would loose the whooping fee, the GM was pretending talking to the phone all the time I was there till he decided to lock into his car for having his lengthy private phone calls. Worst experience ever. Needless to say that I had a full insured booking and without having any heads up on my online booking they told me that the only thing that is not insured is the tyres which of course I can change if the have a problem yet the whole nonsense described took place. Non respectful businesses don't stay on the picture for a long time

Terrible First Impression - My wife and I arrived in Stansted Airport, London where a shuttle bus service took us to there car garage to collect our hire car from them. Once reaching the bus stop the driver began to drive off and said out of his window “I’m full”, which he wasn’t, there were several vacant seats. After waiting outside in the cold for 20 minutes for him to do his round trip we finally got on and asked him why he didn’t let us on and say he was full when he had empty seats, he simply replied “I speak no English”! Lame excuse and totally rude and unprofessional. Didn’t need this after a 7 hour flight. Drivers name is Tanase

If I could give easirent a zero I would. Please do NOT ignore the bad reviews. I did, and like so many others, ended up having to lose my deposit as easirent refused my booking without taking out about 300 pounds worth of extra insurance. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

Car Rental in Cork, Ireland: Avoid as much as you can, it's a real scam. I rented this Van for the good price they offered without thinking they had to make up for the money somehow. Once you enter their office, first thing you see is all the charges for the damages, they even charge for the smallest scratch ever (other companies consider small scratches wear and tear...). Prices to repair are ridicolous, as an example they charge for a tyre the same price 4 tyres would cost. Regarding my experience, I collected the Van at 6PM in the dark (they have no lights) and I had to use the torch of my phone (while it was raining so much) to check it. Their employee checked it too and he did not even see a flat tyre which I had to tell him. When I returned the van (rented it for 2 days, drove it 20miles), their employee checked the van in less than 3 minutes and found 3 damages in 3 different parts of the van by going straight to where the damages were found such as chipped windscreen near the wipers (coincidence?!?! Especially seeing many people being charged for the same? Is it so easy now to chip it?), a small scratch in the back door (at an height that you can only do it by hand) and the back door was all worn and listen: a cut in the the tyre but.... The tyre was worn already!!! They initially wanted to charge over 1k but in the end they charged 650e (200e for the tyre, 250 for the windscreen, 150e for the scratch and 50e for one day off road)just because they could repair the windscreen. Avoid this company as much as you can if you don't want to end up like me.
