EF Education First - Danmark

I was an exchange student with EF back in 2012-2013 where I lived in a small town in Minnesota. I ended up with the best host family possible and I'm so grateful for EF who was with me the entire year and always made sure, that I was having a good time and feeling okay in the new surroundings. I was truly the best year of my life and I'm thankful for my new host-family but also for the EF-family I gained in the other exchange student, when I lived in The United States.

After I came back from my exchange year I became an ambassador and later on started working for the organization as an interviewleader and responsible for the informations meetings in Jutland. Working for EF has given me the chance to share my own experience and inspire young and hopeful student to study abroad with, what I would call, the best organization out there.

This year I did an exchangeyear in America, and it was the best experience ever!! Couldn’t have asked for a better host family, community, or school. EF was with me all the way, and I participated in camp in the beginning of my exchange, and that was awesome, and I made friends I stayed in contact with, from all over the world!!! Best year of my life

I am currently on an exchange year in USA and although my host family is really nice, my program advisor is terrible. My program advisor called me out of nowhere to hear about a situation that was already solved and talked down to me and then gave me a strike. She was super rude the whole call, she was not neutral and she did try and see my perspektive. Absolutly terrible. I hope my strike gets undone because this is just straight up unfair.

My son was on exchange with EF in US last year, and was treated really bad and unfair. The first family he stayed with, who was also the area coordinator, all of a sudden decided to throw him out based on a false accusation of stealing 20 $. Even when they later found out it was his host sister who did steal the money, they did not give any apology. My son then spent more than a week in a house where he could not attend school, and was alone inside the locked house during working hours each day. All through this we were only informed long time after, and finally he was placed in a family who didn’t have the capacity to be a nice place to stay for a child. Would definitely not recommend this program for an exchange year!

Sending my Daughter to Munich for 2 weeks, started very bad, host family was from India, and spoke "hindu" with each other, and when she arrived they were not even home. We talked to EF in Munich and told them that was not satisfied since she wanted also to learn German culture besides the language. Same day she was moved to a college and 2 nights later they found a new family to her. She had a wonderfull time in Munich and the new host family was very committed to her, and took her in with open arms and kindness.

As the title reads, I was a course leader working for EF during summer 2017.

I were sent to Torquay, a town in south-west England. It was great, for me as well as for the students that I was responsible for. Certainly, the main objective is for the students to obtain a better understanding of the English language. However, there's much more to it than "just" language study. As a person you'll develop as you spend between 2-4 weeks in the company of other students from many different countries. Further more it makes you more confident at speaking English and you'll meet new people from the rest of the world.

To me, this was a great travel. I had an amazing time with my students. They got progressively better at speaking English, and became more confident at it.

If you are in doubt whether you should go or not; then do it, go! You will not regret it. The experiences you get there will stay with you forever.
