FIREANGEL

We had four ST622 alarms fitted by the fire brigade. They should be good until 2027 but the last one has now failed. I emailed Fire Angel a year ago and no one got back to me.

Rubbish battery quality that can't be replaced. We now have lots holes in ceilings and back plates to remove before we can put new ones up and our house is not safe.

When we moved into our house in 2018 there was a fireangel St-622 installed (the date it was installed was 2017). 2 years on and the battery kept chirping as if it had a low battery. Obviously with the 10 year warranty I emailed Fireangel to enquire about getting a replacement as the 10 year warranty runs until February 2027. However because we were not the original buyers of the smoke alarm they are unable to give us a replacement. I would say the smoke alarm is either faulty or not very good if the 'long life' battery has ran low after only 3 years? I do think this is a misleading technicality with the 10 year warranty as surely it should be from the house and not the person purchaisng as 10 years is a long time. Its safe to say I wont be purchasing a Fireangel smoke alarm myself for the battery to die after only 3 years and for there to be something else in the small print voiding the warranty...

Our fire alarm failed prematurely, one simple phone call and a replacement was sent, great customer service

Edit: Dear Tom, I think you should check your product reviews on B&Q - (FireAngel Optical 10 year life Smoke alarm) where I bought it, you will see 1 star after 1 star because of the overrated battery life ,if I was Fireangel I would address that first instead of hiding behind a receipt request and a manual (people die because of faulty fire alarms. If the product wasnt faulty we wont be here
ORIGINAL Review:Called to exchange a battery operated Fire Alarm I bought a year ago because indicated the battery ran out although its expiry is Jul 2028. I was advised that their manual states that a proof of purchase is required. I explained that I couldn't know that because I couldn't read the manual before opening the alarm package. Nothing they could do. Left with no solution at all but to buy another alarm of course from another manufacturer, I am really disappointed to say the least.

My FireAngel smoke alarm was supplied and fitted by the Fire Service but was emitting a chirruping noise yet indicated that it should have been functioning until 2026. Fire Angel immediately replaced it and I received the new smoke alarm within 3 days.

I've had 3 smoke alarms with different manufacture dates, and they have all started beeping low battery after less than 4 years, thought they supposed to last 10 years, rubbish!!!!

When moving to my new house circa 6 years ago I bought 6 of these Fireangel ST 620 alarms, based on the recommendation of the local Fire Service...1 for each of 3 bedrooms, 2 downstairs and one for upstairs landing. Over the years every single one has failed after 1- 6 years, giving of the same annoying chirping sound which indicates low battery life / a fault, well before the supposed 10 year guarantee. Several have subsequently been replaced FOC by FireAngel yet have all failed exactly the same way (one yesterday with replacement by end of 2027 date....so still quite new). The fact they are of very different batch nos / years of manufacture suggests a definitive design fault. They have driven me mad to the point that I have had no choice but to remove all but one of them. This is a danger and something of a disgrace and as such these units are not so conducive to fire health and safety. I cannot believe the local fire authority recommend them.

Not happy i had the fire service come and install one of these and the battery is failing within 6 months now im stuck with an alarm that keeps going off i will have to contact the fire service about this.

I contacted Fire Angel with regard to a faulty four year old carbon monoxide which no longer operated. After the customer service advisor had asked the necessary questions to confirm a valid warranty claim she immediately arranged for a replacement to be sent. At all times the adviser was pleasant and courteous. A good experience.

I received the new smoke alarm and I was very pleased with the immediate service I received within two days of ringing, especially in the pandemic times. Thank you.

Bought two '10 year' smoke alarms in March 2017. One started to beep late last year, the other a few weeks ago. Both accepted as faulty and replaced quickly by FireAngel. So...poor product but honourable company

Just a phone call, I stated the model number and the expiry date, the lady was so helpful and pleasant and I received the replacement four days later, thank you.

After my first ST-620 10-year alarm was replaced by them for erratic operation without cause after a couple of months the replacement, with 6 years life and despite frequent cleaning with a vac brush, is now going off for no reason. This is the last time I'll buy a Fire Angel.

Previously Fireangel had great warranty support, quickly replacing failed detectors without making their customer jump through hoops

My latest one to fail was actually a product replacement from them, so I cannot produce the now demanded receipt

Daily Mail covered in April 2016 the known battery life issues, and Fireangel increased their provision for warranty claims - I suspect the volume of those has seen them have to tighten their warranty response

Absolutely disgraceful a known issue for over 4 years has not been addressed - my latest failed unit was supplied in 2018

Amazon reviews for the product evidence this is a far from isolated experience

I have contacted Coventry Trading Standards and also approached Daily Mail to see if they are interested in refreshing their article

A real shame as the product design was attractive and the features (battery excluded) good

Unfortunately it fails to address the huge number of units that fail within 2 - 3 years, the 2016 press coverage or your Company's increased provisions for warranty claims

It also fails to address (from your Facebook Reviews) the inconsistent approach being adopted by your Company, and most importantly how you expect me to provide a receipt for a product you sent me as a replacement - and I know you have that fact in your records.

This ex-customer will leave matters in the hands of Coventry Trading Standards.

I had an alarm supplied by Fire Service which became faulty after about 3 years. I phoned Fireangel and a replacement was despatched without question.

as i quite liked the product, however purchased 4 units, everything fine until one kept bleeping every few seconds ,then when it felt like it, then ok for a couple of days and off it would go again, fault is probably battery which you cannot replace, i have been told by the company, as i cannot find the till receipt they have refused in their words any warranty, now these are not cheap folks,
so be aware, i am sure they are supposed to honour their 10 year warranty on faults i dont want any money back just a repair or replacement the unit has a batch number and a warranty date of 2026 so i have
No trust in this company now.
