Flash-memory-store.com Reviews & Complaints (24)

Same here: Ex stock was on hold for more than 10 days, ignored cancellation on their website as well as by Email, shipped substitute product 4 days after order was cancelled, substituted product even though it was clearly stated in comments, that no substitutes were accepted. Tend to ignore Emails, but had some responses, however not really adressing my issues. Will backcharge via my credit card company and I am done doing business with them. As a matter of fact, this is the second incident of substitution without prior information.

I ordered 2 2gig Kingston sd cards and received 2 no-named cards. After emailing them I returned the cards and also was charged a return fee. I contacted my credit card company which pointed out a phone number next to the charge that I should call. I did get a refund of the restocking fee. Please challenge the charges and restocking fee with your credit card company. It can't hurt and you may get your money back. I have learned at least one valuable lesson in all this. NEVER buy from an online store unless it has very good reviews. I wish I would of found about this site and Biz Rate's site before I bought anything from the Flash Memory Store.

IF THIS HELPS THIS IS THE PHONE NUMBER THAT WAS ON MY CREDIT CARD FOR THIS STORE;

I purchased a portable HD with a free 64MB pen drive.
1st problem: the UPS tracking number did not work (I paid $8 for UPS). I sent a e-mail to complain about it, I got no answer
2nd problem: The free 64MB pen drive did not come ("back order"). I asked an estimate when it will come, I got no answer.
There is no way to speak to a live person.

Same story here, ordered a 2GB kingston 13x SD card and received a 2GB QMemory 150x. Same price, comparable specs but it is unacceptable that a vendor delivers some unknown brand to one of the best rated one on the market, and this is not an isolated incident.
Let's not give Flash Memory Store and their sister company Computer Memory Store any further business!

Ordered 3 512MB SanDisk SD cards, received 3 Qmemory cards 23 days later. Paid for Priority 3-5 day Delivery. Items were shipped USPS First class.
Will not do business with this store again.

I ordered a 8GB MicroSDHC card from this company that supposedly included an adapter to regular SD. They only shipped me the card with no adapter so now I can not sync it with my computer without buying another adapter or sync device. Repeated e-mails to the company only yielded one reply with a picture of what I should have been sent (the mico and the adapter) and a brief note stating that I should look closer at what I was shipped (like I can't tell when an adapter that is 3x the size of the card is missing). I could not get any further response. I even told them that I had not opened the original package and all they had to do was send me the correct shipment and a return label for the incorrect shipment...nothing. I will never shop there again and would warn anyone from doing so.

I ordered two 1GB Kingston 133x Secure Digital Cards (KNGSD/1GBU). I received two QMemory 150x Secure Digital Cards. The invoice reflects what I ordered. Further investigation via internet reveals that Flash Memory Store.Com appears to be the only store to supply the QMemory Cards. There are no other references to be found via the internet for Qmemory except for a website that has no real contact information. The products I received are in unsealed packages, and the cards do not look as picture on the website. There are no external reviews for this company pro or con anywhere on the the web. The company's website boasts this to be the fastest card available. How is it possible that this company has never been heard of? I have sent an email and left a message with an answering machine. I am still awaiting a response.

I have purchased items at this merchant before, It was a pleasure to deal with, so thats why I decided to make another purchase. I would like to see an 800 phone number to talk to them , rather than by email for any problems or questions that I might have. I am currently having a problem with one of the items that I purchased, but I am sure we will be able to resolve it soon. I would recommend them to everyone.

I received my 2GB SD SanDisk card as promised. It was a little late and shipping notification/tracking was very poor, but it did show up and was what I ordered. I did get a little nervous when I found, after my purchase, some very negative reviews on ResellerRatings.com so I ordered one from Amazon(it was onlt $4 more expensive through Amazon) Well the Amazon one showed up in a padded envelope. THe card was in the typical clear hanging packagong I would expect and have seen in stores. Great. The Flash Memory Store one shows up the next week in a smaller padded envelope with the card in a plastic bag inside in a case meant for an SD and Micro SD card. Thats it. No SanDisk packaging no card warranty info. Just the card and a simple invoice. I had to chukle. I'm just glad I got the right card, even though this seemed a little sketchy, and not a Q-memory as others have. I doubt I'll order from them again.

Ordered 2 SanDisk SD memory cards, a 1G and a 2G card. The 1G SanDisk card was not even in the original SanDisk packaging, but in some generic Flash Memory packaging, so I have no idea whether the card is new or used. I did not receive the 2G SanDisk card, but a substitute 2G Q-Memory card, which I have never heard of, much less ever used before. I looked at the invoice in the box, and it charged for, and listed, a 2G SanDisk card. Then, when I tried to access the Flash Memory Store website to see what this Q-Memory card is, I received an error message that the page I was trying to access could not be displayed, inspite of my making several attempts through TWO browsers. Now I read reviews that this is not the first time this lying company has substituted merchandise, and delivered what was not ordered. This is my first and my LAST order. I will never order again from this company, if, indeed, it even is a legitimate company.

I purchased what was advertised as two Lexar USB JumpDrives. These are portable removable storage devices that utilize flash memory to retain data. They are officially branded Lexar parts with activity lights and write protect switches, sold through retailers in full retail packaging.

The company's first mistake was sending me the incorrect items. These items were different and inferior to the Lexar products in every way. They were unbranded generic products that would not be supported by Lexar's warranty and support. They did not come in retail packaging. They did not have write-protect switches as advertised by both Lexar and the retailer and were therefore functionally inferior.

The company's second mistake: I notified the company of this discrepancy, and was told that I would have to pay for return shipping. In other words, I would have to pay for their mistake. The company stopped returning my emails, and I realized that shipping these lightweight products back would be inexpensive, so I shipped the products back to the retailer.

The company's third mistake: They refunded to my credit card an amount less than the original price of the products. This implies that they charged me a restocking fee for (1) items originally shipped without packaging and (2) shipped in error because of the retailer's mistake.

I was at first willing to believe that even though the products that were shipped were different in every way from packaging to brand to functionality and features, this was the result of an honest mistake. I ask potential customers to consider if the sum of these mistakes can be truly accidental.

Suffice it to say that I am livid at this retailer's behavior. I strongly suggest that you do not give them your business, regardless of their perceived value. Their behavior and series of mistakes indicates that this wasn't an off chance, a bad day, or an honest mistake. This is their mode of operation, and it is one I would not support at any cost.

This web site's rules forbid posting direct links in reviews, but search the forums for the term flash-memory-store.com and look for a thread entitled flash-memory-store.com bait and switch. Alternately, search for my username on the forums: kirbysdl. There I have added more information and direct emails sent between me and the retailer.

Finally, I was told by this site's staff on August 26th, 2005 via forum private message that I am permitted to post my own contact information in a review. Thus, feel free to contact me at kirbysdl at hotmail.

EDIT: Note that other reviewers have noted similar experiences, and know that bait and switch is a form of fraud as defined in The Code of Federal Regulations (See 16 CFR 238).

I ordered five Sandisk micro SDHC 8 GB Class 4 memory cards from the Flash Memory Store on June 30, 2010. The Flash Memory Store sent five Sandisk micro SDHC 8 GB Class 2 memory cards which I received on July 7, 2010. I immediately sent an electronic communication to the Flash Memory Store explaining that I had received Class 2 cards when I had ordered Class 4 cards.

Elena K. sent a response within one and a half hours authorizing the return of the cards at absolutely no expense to me, and authorized a full refund of the purchase price including shipping charges. She explained that the Class 4 cards were out of stock and the Class 2 cards were sent to insure that I would have the products within a reasonable period or time.

I returned the cards Friday morning via UPS using the return mailing label that the Flash Memory Store provided via electronic mail. My credit card posted a complete refund the following Monday afternoon. I find that remarkable customer service. This was my first purchase from the Flash Memory Store; however, it will not be the last.

I have read many of the negative reviews regarding this store. My experience with the Flash Memory Store resulted in complete satisfaction.

I ordered a simple 2 GB SD flash card, it was supposedly shipped 12/11/07, but this company is so incompentent, they can't get it to me. It has circulated through the mail system ever since, going back and forth between IL and FL. Their only phone number is an answering machine. They do not respond to emails. I checked their record with BBB, it is the worst I've ever seen. NEVER order from this company. You would be better off making a charitable contribution to them - at least you would know for certain that you are getting nothing in return.

Ordered 2 small items on 10/09/2006. Got a fairly quick email acknowledgement. Since then NOTHING. Their order status link to UPS seems to show that UPS haven't even got the products yet. You can't phone them (other than just leaving a message), I have sent them an email asking what is going on. No answer yet. From what I have seen so far, I would not do business with them again.

Customer service/product tracking seems non-existent.

I placed an order to buy the 2GB Kingston 133X Secure Digital Card. It took way too much time for the item to arrive. I e-mailed them like three times and also called them at least 3 times too, but never got an reply. Finally, I got the item, but it was the 2GB Q 150x SD Card. What...what the heck was that. It was not even what I ordered. A very unpleasant experience I had with those people. Never will I do any business with them. STAY AWAY FROM THOSE PEOPLE.

I ordered 2 memories:

1. 1 GB miniSD card which I liked and kept.
2. 2 GB Lexar CompactFlash card (as advertised on their website) and I received Kingston. I contacted them and asked to return it. I had to use UPS (10-$ cost) as they did not provide return shipping authorization. In addition, they deducted 10$ from my refund for re-stocking fee, eventhough it was their mistake to begin with. On contacting by telephone, they advised me that I had not filled out the RMA form completely but in my various correspondence with them after mailing them the RAM form, it was never mentioned. I have filed a complaint with Illinois BBB.

I placed order with Flash Memory Store for a 512MB SanDisk Ultra II Secure Digital Card. Instead they sent me a cheap knock-off SD Card. I obtained an RMA form via e-mail, filled it out to the letter, and enclosed all original invoices and the unopened product in it’s original packaging within a few days. (At my expense)
The return policy on their web-site states: - "Should you need to return any unopened product within 30 days from the date of shipment, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price of the product, no questions asked and no hassles!"
However, this does not appear to be true. When I complained about not getting a “full refund” their e-mail reply was: “Per our policy, any return order with promotional free shipping must be deducted $4.95. In case of an exchange, there are no additional charges.”

I've ordered items that were 'In stock' and 10 days later it's still not shipped. They say they sent me an email to ask me to call them, but I have nothing from them in me Junk folder, so they must be lying. In 10 years of ordering online, I never had such a painful buying experience. The fact that they take 2 days to answer an email doesn't help.

I ordered a 2GB Sandisk Ultra II SD card from this store. Their website showed a picture of the packaged card that I expected to receive. I was quite disappointed to find a generic SD card in generic packaging when the package arrived. The shipping time was ok, just a little slow, but the fact that I got an un-branded card is unforgiveable. Dennis, in customer service, responded to my emails in good time, but just to convince me that the card I got is equivalent to the Sandisk (made by the same manufacturer of the innards of the Sandisk card). I hope that's true and that the quality control was adequate.

I will never do business with this seller again. This experience has inspired me to register with this ratings website and use it!!
