They used to be very cheap and the prices have gone up over the years however when I start to shop around I see you pay for what you get. Their excesses are reasonable. They process claims typically within one week. They ask for reasonable proof of purchase, damage and theft. But the most important thing for me is they do not limit the amount of claims you can make within the policy contract which is great because I have had to claim twice for a mobile phone (once for damage and second for theft) and there was no issues with this.
The customer services team are always very friendly and helpful and happy to assist.
Only down side is I wish they were open longer hours / weekends so you do not have to wait if you want to start a claim outside of office hours.
Since then i have dropped my phone again and it's complete smashed and broke now due to it already being weakened after my lost drop.
As i would imagine... i go to ring up this morning and the claims portal does not work nor does the phone line.
After reading reviews it looks like this is a reacquiring thing for the company.
What is the point in paying monthly for something that isn't even working.
I signed up for this insurance through my works online rewards portal and if this is not resolved i will be getting in touch with them to take this off their site, i know a few people who have signed up to this.
With family members in Ireland I am finding it very difficult to make contact with them amidst the ongoing coronavirus fears.
I have tried calling a number of times and getting the same answer of weare checking to see if I have a claim elsewhere. This is not the case. I am not a fraudster. This is the way you have made me feel. I am a working professional; primary school teacher and tutor.
Its now 9 working days excluding Saturday and Sunday and still have not received my refunds on 2 policy's which I cancelled, because of your claims department are not friendly when it comes to customer service. As a customer we should have a choice on where my phone is repaired and not having to send my phone away for 72 hours for inspection and then to tell me what is required for the repair.
My phone just needed a new screen and I'n not prepared to send my phone away in the post. Got my new screen fitted in 3 hours from Samsung that is what I call customer service. Gadget cover insurance uses Direct Group on behalf of Supercover rubbish insurers wont be using Gadget cover again

apparently i bought insurance for a gift i received on Xmas under conditions that do not make much sense to me
perhaps you guys can figure it out
after 3 years of insurance... the screen cracked and then cracked some more..
Phoned Gadget Cover.. who wanted proof of purchase
Now I was under the impression that this had been sorted at the start - you give them the serial number which as far as i know is unique to that item.. and so well why would i pay insurance for thing i don't own.. but OK
Clearly I don't have receipt so I ask the Donor who does not have it either
So Donor emails the seller - a large company whose name you would recognise with relevant details … company emails back with receipt… which email is forwarded to me and I forward this email with all communications as mentioned above and above mentioned receipt to Gadget Cover who come back with request for… the Donor's BiRTH CerTIFICATE !!!???
Because our Names don't match.
And seriously… I nearly start to comply when the brain finally kicked in.
.. hang on.. did you say BirTH CERtifiCATE ?? to prove relationship???
I don't understand what does this have to do with anything
What if the Donor had been a former boss / employee / neighbour / bloke down the pub.. who has sadly passed from covid.. gone off grid… has moved to the other side of the world??
Is this what I should expect for my friends and family to whom I give gifts they insure?
I dont understand.. evidence of relationship… is this insurance only for relations???
Well Yes … Well sorry can you repeat!! but it seems like the call centre got it wrong we dont have to be related only to have a gift receipt .. what is a gift receipt..?
why is this not a gift receipt? so the gift must be given in some special kind of format? not just bought.. then paid for then wrapped and given.. is this not normal???
I sent the receipt off in March.. this is now May and i just had a call from gadget cover assuring me that they will make an exception for little old me if I cough up £50 of liability less £25 for the stress of explaining to Gadget Cover that they are a bunch of dolts… remember I have paid for three years of cover which according to them I never possessed in the first place so…well I have already given up .. I needed tablet six weeks ago for my neighbour who is trying to remain in covid lock down but does not have BBC /ITV catch up and thought she could borrow my tablet with spare phone + sim to brighten her experience.. but the crack on mine is well spread across the screen and the glass is only in place thanks to the protective film.. so I bought something which may not be as nice / posh but hopefully does the job.. and has a sim slot which has still not arrived but fingers crossed
again… I have paid 3 years for an item i dont own.
I have sent proof of ownership several times. A single email with comms from donor to seller to donor to me with receipt and because the receipt is not in my name a birth certificate is required as proof of relationship between donor and self…
I sent receipt in March and it is now May and they still going round and round
A little amused / frustrated to see this reply ffs
