Glasses Direct

I had no problems with them before, sent exactly the same frame (which I ordered online from Asos and brake it once so ordered the same frame) for reglazing 2 times and they done it as I pad with cash. I broke this frame again (fall a sleep) so ordered same frame as I love it, they rejected me with reglazing it again, saying it's because frame from asos, I asked why they done it last 2 times ? The lady on the phone just said - she don't know! Well I know, is that because I paid last 2 times with cash and this time tried to use my voucher from work, which I asked before on email if they will accept it and they say YES OF COURSE. Horrible service, I had no answers on my questions and just wasted time on sending frame to them. Let's see if they charge me for post and if my voucher will be inside parcel.

Ordered 2 pairs of glasses and after waiting for 19 days I did not hear anything. I called in to chase it up and was told my glasses had not even even be made as there was “missing information”. However, when ordering I spent 45 minutes making sure there was nothing missing and received an email confirming what I had ordered. I was not notified at any point that anything was missing. Very unhappy with the process please look into sorting this out.

Send a pair of existing frames, waited ages to hear then an abrupt, rude phone call lasting under 30 seconds to say they could not be reglazed with no explaination why. One of the smaller, independent online glazers did it immediately with great customer service. I’d rather pay a fraction more than give any money to these fools.

Takes far to long it bin saying sent to laboratory for a week and it's stupid so I asked for a refund as takes to long and they take ages picking up the bloody phone what a waste of time and money . Avoid!

Ordered two pairs 8th January 2018 and at end of February have still received nothing other than excuses. When you telephone them (last week) they have a pre-recorded message saying that they are so busy answering emails that nobody is taking calls. Clearly going out of business.

I ordered two pair of glasses and over two weeks have passed, no sign of the glasses and no answer to my emails no answer to my phone-calls or recorded messages I'll try to get my money back but it will take some time. I will update this review.

Update, since posting my review I received a call from "Glasses Direct" saying they had sent me an email saying because my prescription was "complicated" the thickness of the lens would be 7mm!! unless I upgraded to "Gold" ( at extra cost ). My glasses from a High Street Opticians are normal thickness. They have promised me a refund, I won't be using an On-Line company again

I had my tested at home but wanted some cheap extra glasses for spares so went on Glasses Direct website bargain two pairs single vision glasses with post and packing £22-95 unfortunately they did not arrive but have to say they sent out another two pairs within a few days At this moment in time I cant say anything bad I did opt for any extras like anti scatch etc. My Glasses from my normal opticians have not come yet so when they do will see what the difference is between the Glasses Direct and A well known high street brand

I have just received my two pairs of glasses that I paid £28 for; one for reading; just a standard lens and one for computer work with anti-reflection. I am absolutely delighted with them; they are really nice glasses and I ordered them last Sunday and received them today, Friday. Outstanding service and an affordable price, considering the day before I had paid £189 (although verifocals) elsewhere.

Called the customer service line, looking to purchase a couple glasses; an assistant picked up the phone and pretended she could not hear me and hung up, utterly disgusting, poor customer service !!

I have ordered at least 8 pairs of glasses recently, as I have a puppy that keeps eating them. My last order in December I wrote the prescription wrong on the form a - instead of a +. I was able to return them and received new pairs at no extra cost for an error that was my fault. That is excellent service and as always happy with the glasses

Shocking customer service Ordered had it confirmed and waited 3 weeks when I chased It their attitude was “oh well” “ do you want to cancel” Refunds the much longer to get back than they took the money - bunch of jokers There are so many retailers that now do this I would recommend someone else if you want to get something or like the service

Asked me for my prescription which I sent then after two weeks asked for it again ? No answer to phone calls and responded to my email after 8 days !!! AVOID !

I went to my usual high street opticians to purchase a new pair of glasses as my lenses were badly scratched, I was dreading the usual £350+ bill. However I decided to give glassesdirect a go! Thankfully I did, service was amazing....customer care outstanding. I received two calls from one of there opticians in relation to my order prior to them being manufactured. They arrived today and are unbelievable!!! Quality is fab and the lenses absolutely perfect!!!! From now on I will never visit the high street opticians again. Oh and the other thing....they were less than half the price of my usual opticians and included the top spec varifocal lenses with coatings. Thank you glassesdirect, you have a new loyal customer. I have purchased two pairs of designer glasses from them with scratch resistant lenses. After 4 weeks the lenses were so scratched they were in in - usable. I am sitting here in Boots glasses which have perfect lenses after 5 years. There customer services were not prepared to do anything.... Unless I paid again.... don't buy from these cowboys!

Ordered 10 pairs of glasses over the last 5 years never had any problems. The last two pairs I got 2 months ago. One of the pairs had small scratches all over them, despite having scratch resistant covering. I returned them and was told I must have scratched them whilst cleaning and would have to pay another £40 to have them re coated with the same failed scratch resistant coating. Having worn glasses daily for over 30 years I know how to clean them and also realistic about the conditions lenses should be in after 2 months of wear! Very poor customer service. Avoid completely I know I will from now on.

Website is easy to navigate and ended up purchasing my prescription sunglasses on a Friday evening. I went with frames that are similar in shape to my current ones so I knew that they would suit me. On the Sunday I received an email to say my lenses were being made as per my prescription and on the Monday I received an email to say they were on their way to me. I received them on the Tuesday via Royal Mail. All in all a very smooth service and I will definitely be ordering again!

Followed a Martin Lewis lead for two pairs of glasses for £15.00, led to glasses direct site. filled in all asked, Nothing like the Martin Lewis price. I could not understand whether I was only purchasing 1 pair or two pairs for £17.00 plus postage, decided to go ahead, and the site crashed. No more thank you. Should have gone to specsavers

So easy to use and great prices 2 pairs £35...I ordered my prescription glasses on the Wednesday and they were delivered on the Saturday..Great communication via email, regular updates on the progress of the order and really easy site to use. Would recommend and definitely be using again...Breath of fresh air to get exactly what was ordered with great customer service ..

A "Comedy of Errors" that started back in June 2018, To start with the glasses chosen and sent did not fit, they were returned as 'not fit for- -purpose.' !! Some weeks later I was asked about having a "tint" so I advised them colour Grey. Eventually, the glasses arrived only to find they were Sunglasses, so back they went as not fit for purpose. Then they requested I sent a pair of my old glasses to help getting my measurements correct and told I had not asked for this and that, but by now it was November and I had paid them £145 already then told another £49 was required to complete reglazing my frames. I refused to pay anymore money and they asked me to place my credit card on my fore head, take a pic and send that to them to help the varifocal part. I refused and demanded my £145 be refunded, I had enough and since December to date they have refused to refund me my £145 and I still do not have any glasses. Plus insofar as there Ad goes 2 pair of glasses for £19 goes, its untrue. I am still trying to get my refund and despite this Company having been told they have breached the contract under the Consumers Rights Act 2015, Section 49, they are still fobbing me off and refusing to refund me my £145. I'm 78 years old and need glasses and until IO get my refund, I cannot afford to buy glasses from my usual optician. I will never buy glasses on line again. So beware. Look and learn.
