I am about to go and see a specialist about my knee that has become very painful / arthritis over a number of years and I have been waiting for the stem cell research to be completed as I do not want a full knee construction, so I am hoping it is covered by GMHBA, as I have been a member for over 40 years.

Lodged a claim customer service in Geelong was ringing me to update where claim was as I was waiting for hospital to lodge paperwork

The only issue I have is I have 2 member numbers one being extras with family and one being hospital on my own, Ive registered the extras online with my email address not realising that I cannot register my hospital membership online using the same email address. Im not going to create a new email address purely for hospital membership online but thought you should know as it would be good to have this option online for me to check progress of claims rather than ringing up all the time

This year for the first time I made a claim on my hospital insurance. I knew that there was money from the now discontinued rewards program to put towards the excess but was very pleasantly surprised to be sent a refund, also from the rewards program - without any paperwork or fuss - for the excess on the anaesthetist's bill and a pathology bill.

We have been insured with GMHBA for over 25 years and hope to only ever claim dental check up and ambulance cover, but when ever we have needed a bit more the cover has been great and the follow up to make sure we are happy with the cover has been more than we expected. All health cover seems expensive but I have no complaints about value for money from GMHBA

Seems to be as good or better than competitors
Claims are paid within 24 hours
Phone enquiries are answered promptly
If answers not avail. immediately-they always phone back
Been a member since 1983-maybe under an older name.

Have been with GMHBA for many years but do find that it is one of the more expensive funds and often out of pocket quite a bit - even when using GMHBA Dental etc. No major concerns really but high membership costs should reduce out of pocket expenses.

I think this is my 4th or 5th year with GMHBA I was recommended to them by my relative
My claims have been settled with no hassles, but due to Government cuts Doctors extra charges are making it harder to find the finance

I only started up in February 2019 so I will not be eligible to make a claim until February 2020. I live in Melbourne however I am moving interstate to Perth where I will be utilising my private health insurance.

Been GMHBA members for years, have never had a problem with our claims, so we very happy with the service, direct debit, and recently used the optical service for my new glasses

I joined for Extras, and I have saved 1000's very happy with contact staff and fees. Most we do not claim as many do it online automatically so I do not have to submit myself.

I have been with GMHBA for 30 years and have always had great customer service, The policies are competitive and sometimes with Corporate Extras, Better refunds.Could not recommend highly enough !

Do not have anything to say we are just very happy whenever I have to ring the staff are always extremely polite and helpful, never have any intention of going to i-select to find another private health care we will stick with the one that we have been with for many years actually we were originally members with Druids which GMHBA took over.

Ive only been a member for 3 months but so far Im happy with service and coverage. The office in Geelong is excellent and answered all of my questions or concerns.

My policy has suited my needs over the last decade,with minor changes along the way as per discussion and advice from very friendly/helpful staff at the Bendigo office.I anticipate staying with GMHBA in the foreseeable future

I have been a member for well over 10 years now ans suffered my fair share of illness requiring surgery and hospital stays, coverage has never been an issue with them and all bills paid without question

My hospital insurance has been with GMHBA for several years now. I have always found the staff to be helpful. As they are one of the few mutual funds remaining in Australia, I will be staying.

What the hospital cover was not really a good fit for our needs but it was all we were able to afford on a pension, so had to drop after over 40 years of coverage. The extras policy assists in meetings the costs of we need but sometimes the gap amount calls into question of money-for-value of the policy.

GMHBA has been our health insurance for over 20 years and we have been looked after well by this company. Claims are quick, easy and with no fuss. Hospital stays and other medical issues are taken care of and the staff are very caring and helpful.
