I have just taken out the policy, and I'm happy with the price, at the same time some of my premiums go to the Guide Dogs. The consultant was excellent.

The time it takes for the claim to be looked at is unreasonable my dog has had a bad trot this last three months with foure operations and still only has been paid out for two. verry hard to contact
your claims office by phone operators do not speak good English. I have thought about changing to another company.

Claim was submitted late November 2019. When I logged on to request it be deposited directly into my bank accocunt I couldn't update the details. I didn't receive notification that the claim was approved. I logged in a few weeks later as I still hadn't heard back and was able to update my bank details. I requested it be deposited in there only to be told that my cheque was sent out on 11/12/19. As this was some 3 weeks later I asked that they cancel the cheque and deposit into my account. I was told the whole process would take upto an additional 20 days. So I waited for the cheque. Nearly 2 months later and the cheque still hasn't arrived. I have now cancelled and waiting for bank deposit. We paid out a lot of money and just before Christmas. When paying for a service I would certainly expect a quicker turnaround and better level of service.

I have been having trouble logging into my account for weeks and have sent several emails. I have heard nothing back. I have called and your customer service team are so untrained is crazy. They are so hard to understand and say they will do things and simply don't follow through with it. All I am trying to do is log into the pet portal and make a claim. So far I have been with Guide dogs for almost a year and they have rejected all of my claims so far. They are very confusing to deal with and so difficult. I have top cover and know I am covered for majority of things but when I claim, they get rejected with no explanation as to why.

For the love of god if you care about your pets. Don't choose this insurance. They will just make your life more difficult. The pet portal login to manage you account is so unorganised and all over the place.
I heard such good things about this insurance and I like the company but by personal experience they are trash with pet insurance.
Please hire more people or actually hire people who care because this is our pets we are insuring. They mean the world to me and yet this insurance company are completely hopeless.

Once again this is the 3rd time I am calling you customer service team just to get help to login as the website seems to not allow it or it is constantly under matinence of some sort.

10/10 would not recommend. Overall a completley stressful time.

I am very unhappy with Guide Dogs Pet Insurance. We have made several claims that should be covered by our policy and haven't seen a cent yet. We have been in contact with team members several times and have heard a lot of promises that money will be transferred but it never happens, instead they send bundles of paperwork out instead of writing emails which would be more effective and environmentally friendly. We are looking for another pet insurance. Would not recommend.

It's been nearly 3 weeks since I set up our dogs insurances, I still have not received any information but of course you guys have taken the money out and I can't get through on the phone! Pretty unhappy so far considering how much we are spending!

No no portal never works keep logging out claims are to hard give them details of the vet and still don’t get it back rip off for $60 plus a month been with them for 7 months and thinking of changing

I have had this policy since my puppy was 8 weeks old. I have lodged a few claims and am very happy with how supportive and efficient you have been. Wish I would never have to use pet insurance but turns out we needed it. The portal is very slow and doesn't work very well. And I wish you wouldn't post anything to me - email is fine. However the cover itself can't be faulted. Thank you for supporting me, my family and my little dog during an unexpected tough time.

June 2019 we adopted our dog, needed to have him fixed as part of the adoption contract, continuously need to provide vet history, emailed it twice, had to call again.

I didn't originally receive my welcome pack details, but after contacting them a few weeks later they sorted the issue with little fuss. Would have been better if they validated that I had received it in the first place - but no issues now.

From day one Guide Dogs Pet Insurance has been great to deal with, quick with refunds and very helpful. We suffered a sudden loss of our 10 month old puppy and they refunded more than we expected from two emergency vets. They also went ahead and cancelled our policy for us so we didnt have to make that phone call. They also included their deepest sympathies on our loss which I thought was a lovely thing to do. Recommend them highly, but I recommend to get insurance THE MINUTE you bring a puppy home.

no 4 phone call and given undertaking all information supplied not and now im not happy as can not trust your ph centre as lied . joined when i got a new puppy he is now 6.5 months and think medi bank pet insurance should of gone to as no ph number claims as not computer savey and believed your claims person and lied to

I researched for a best value pet insurance and at first contact, GuideDogs Insurance seemed to be providing what I was looking for. The person on the phone took my and my pet's exact details and he even repeated them to me. It took them almost 2 weeks to send an email of acknowledgement but no policy certificate. In the meantime my account had the premium deducted from it. I replied asking for the certificate, which took another week. On closer inspection, they had my name spelt wrong and my pet's breed was wrong. When I asked for that to be corrected, it took another week and a half for them to reply, and they wanted to put the premium up by $30/month. When I requested to cancel, they would cancel but won't refund my money because they deemed it had passed their "cooling-off" period. So, they charged me the premium for nothing. They dragged out the settling process so that if you should change your mind, you'll be out of your cooling-off period and they get to keep your money. A very unethical business!

I had to put a claim through for the first time after having my policy for two years. The process was super simple and quick. The claim was processed within a week, couldn't ask for better service.

The first claim I made for a eye ball laceration they knocked back saying in was an illness not accidental. I even had to get my vet to write a letter saying that it was an accident not injury. The PDS even said it was covered under Accidental Injury on page 29 and even then they knocked back a vet follow up visit. I have spent so much time and energy calling and emailing them, without full claim entitlements.
They outsource their claims department to overseas who do not understand and lack customer service skills.
I would go elsewhere.

A little pricey but offers accident and injury for dogs above the age of 9 years and seems to cover more than most. Have only just taken the insurance and it was easy to set up. No claim.

yes very friendly always and nothing is too much trouble.thankyou very much have been with guide dogs for a number of years now and would not change to any other pet insurance

I sent in a form completed by my puppies vet regarding her knee joints to qualify for a waiver should she require joint surgery prior to having pet insurance for 6 months. I sent the form in the post within 14 days of the examination but received a letter to say the waiver form was not accepted as they received the form 5 business days after I sent it and to reapply I would need to visit the vet to complete the examination again, at my own cost. There is nothing wrong with my puppies joints BUT for a first experience with Guide Dog Pet Insurance ( Hollard underwriters) it was very disappointing how rigid they were.
